The Bills are adding an experienced veteran to their offensive front. Per Dan Graziano of ESPN, Buffalo is signing Greg Mancz to a one-year contract. Mancz spent the 2021 season with the Dolphins after the Ravens traded him to Miami in late August. He appeared in five games with four starts for the club.

Mancz entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2015 with the Texans. He played there through the 2020 season, appearing in 58 games with 28 starts. He was a full-time starter in 2016, but has otherwise been used in a reserve role.

WHO? I didn't even know he was on the team. LoL.

Mancz was part of the scramble to cover our loss of a centre after failing to acquire the desired replacement in free agency.

Just watched his highlights....we really, really want this giant of a man! It would change the offense day-one.

Can they sign Armstead already? I don't care if he plays 12 games a year.

That would be on the high side, given his history. What goes through the minds of a GM/coach when they face a situation of a talented player but injury prone? Do they think they have some secret way to keep them healthy? That the odds favor several healthy seasons since they've missed so much time in the past?

The man is very talented, but if you only get him for ten games a year? I'm not paying premium price for a part-time player. I could live with an average of twelve game a season, but the rest of the OL has to be solid too.

Think we again are dripping the ball. Is Armstead a much better player than we have on the roster FOR SURE. BUTTTTTTTTTTT
HES going to BE 31, and has had a history now of not staying on the field for long. So not only will we have to pay A TON for him, yea going to probably play half the games. Who's our backup? We had a chance to sign other players and spend that money on a postion that we have neglected forever but it didn't happen yet again.

Now I know they probably believe sign him for 2-3 years and we will draft a young stud and coach him up but I don't have faith in that anymore with this franchise. I think Griers approach for everything is get a middle of the road talent and coach em up so we don't pay TOP tier.. I may be wrong but that's my impression of his team building. Lightning in a bottle.

Still for the right price we need to get him, just once again were at the mercy of other things instead of controlling our destiny.

He did play 15 in 2019 and 14 in 2020 with at least one of those because of Covid so hopefully a little more of that

Odd. Does this mean the deal is done or isn't getting done?

Would they delay, or maybe Armstead has time to sleep on it?

    Or they haven't met yet?

EDIT - Someone pointed out there was a physical involved. Results might be pending...

Keep hoping I’m gonna see an Armstead signing. I wonder how much of the delay is him playing the market vs medical evaluations. Even if he’s only good for 12-14 game a season like Albert, that’s going to be a major improvement.

Joe Rose made it sound like it’s not a given that Armstead passes the team’s physical.

I’m hearing 5 years $75 million for Armstead. Very happy about this signing! Let’s hope he can string together a few healthy seasons.

I just saw on the Herald it’s $87.5mm with $43ish guaranteed. Also just looked at his games started over his career and he’s averaged just under 12 per season(not including rookie season). Let’s hope that improves. Either way, I’d take 11 games of him over 17 of Jackson/Eichenberg.

Armistead is a prototype LT. Not like some of the shorter-armed guard-types we've sometimes sent out there to man the corners. He and Williams should solidify the left side, at the very least, if Armistead's knee holds up.

Maybe Linderbaum in the draft? Kick Hunt out to RT or make one more signing (Lucas? Brown?), if you want to keep Hunt at RG. And voila, re-made o-line.

    Per cbssports.com:

The Miami Dolphins needed to make an addition on the offensive line to protect quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and this front office did just that. Former New Orleans Saints left tackle Terron Armstead has agreed to a five-year, $75 million deal with Miami, per NFL Media's Tom Pelissero. The deal includes $43.37 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, and has a max of $87.5 million with incentives.

No reason to given the circumstances are so different with them running the same offense and the coach 100% knowing what he is getting. Not to mention the o-line

    Kyle makes this point:
Laremy Tunsil costs around $22mil per year, we could have been paying that and had a better OL for these 3 years with less grief etc.
Armstead and Collins come in around $7mil + $15mil per year. Then the picks spent and still to come from the trade + the cap space from not paying the $22 so far.

    Interesting food for thought.

It's a double-edged sword. Do you want a player who takes plays off, focuses on being safe and gives minimal effort? That guy won't be on IR that much. Armstead is incredibly violent, incredibly aggressive and he's throwing around grown men like they're little girls. Injuries happen when you're that elite, and it doesn't make the guy "injury prone". It means he's doing his job and he's also doing it at a level that no one else can compete at.

Just having this guy in the locker room will pay dividends, and our run game is going to be incredible this season. If he gets hurt being a manly man and alpha male though, so be it. That's how he's one of the best tackles in football.

Hearing rumors that Miami and NYJ are in trade talks with KC for Tyreke Hill. Man that would be killer if we land him!

My buddy who’s a Jets fan says KC wants their #4 and #10. No idea how many picks we’d have to give up to get there. Then you have to factor in salary cap, he wants Adams money.

IF we landed him, coupled with Waddle, a much improved OL and a run game coach, you have to feel good about our offense going into 2022.

2 top ten picks for a guy with 1 year left on his deal? That sounds like a stretch.
