Don’t know why the government is involved, since the revenues in question are supposed to be disbursed to visiting teams, not paid in taxes. Seems like this should be an NFL investigation.

This isn't a scandal as much as it is a crime. For lack of a better word, it's embezzlement. On a related note, I caught somewhere that Miami has sold more season ticket than any NFL team for this coming season and that they're expected every home game to be a true sell-out. Whats sad about this is that the Commanders have a good man at head coach and yet all the ****ers thats been there before him has been up to foolishness and hes basically inherited that mess.
Well I would make the argument it reduces the amount in taxes that can be collected from other teams since their revenue is lower as a result of them not receiving the required 40% in ticket sales. That would be my supposition why the government is involved.
Ok, I’ll buy that for a dollar. Still, I’d think aggrieved parties would be spurring any investigation, especially the NFC East teams they play at home every season and who would stand to lose the most $$$. Regardless, Washington is a hot mess. Snyder is definitely worse than Ross.
Technically he is stealing from them. Generally, people go to the government when someone steals from them. The article even says that they owners got the government involved for this one.
