There's a long, good quality piece of writing that's getting a lot of mentions right now. It's a three-part interview with Chase Edmonds. Here are a few snippets, and then links to all three parts below: Part 1 - The Beautiful Mind of Chase Edmonds, Part I: 'I was scared ****less’ (golongtd.com) Part 2 - The Beautiful Mind of Chase Edmonds, Part II: 'It’s over for me' (golongtd.com) Part 3 - The Beautiful Mind of Chase Edmonds, Part III: ‘A match made in heaven’ (golongtd.com)
Great series...he sounds like the best RB in the league by a longshot. Very much looking forward to what he does this season and how much this offense clicks in general. But man, the parts with him getting into those x's and o's, telling Murray where the blitz is coming from and snuffing it out at the line of scrimmage.....that stuff got me pumped! He certainly has the mental talent anyway.
I'm starting to get excited about this team. I actually haven't felt excited for a team in a long time.
It would be great if Edmunds could be a complimentary player for the Dolphins for the next five years or beyond. That's the mostly likely positive result, IMO, where he shares time with others. But hey, a very similar player with a very similar career arc - Charlie Garner, became a Pro Bowl calibre player at about the same age when signing with a new team (SF). Garner had never run for more than 588 yards in a season in five years with the Eagles. Then at age 27, he signed with the 49ers and had 1764, 1789, 1417, 1903 and 939 yards from scrimmage over the next five years with SF and then OAK, while catching 334 passes in that span.
