Tua looks exactly the same to me. Basically every pass but I think one was a short check down, and even when the line held up.
This place is a cesspool when it comes to tua. 6/8 passer rating in the 90s and you would think he threw 4 picks from the comments. Brain worms.
Not sure about number 6.The first 2 drives only Armstread was missing and the Raiders had 2nd and third teamers starting..Zero push from the line.We can't run we can't win!
I am just glad to see him going through progressions. Check downs may have been fine. I wasn't really demanding to see him launching bombs to Trent Sherfield.
He also bounced a nice throw off Geisiki’s face mask into tight coverage on one of those incompletions….
^^^ This ^^^ I know it's only pre-season but I'm excited by what I've seen in Skylar. Bridgewater just comes across as Brissett 2.0 with a minor upgrade. Bump Skylar up to 2 now before we lose him.
I just watched his 2021 highlights and I agree with you, Bridgewater looks better than Brissett. There were a handful of clutch throws downfield and lots of check-downs where receivers made things happen. I wasn't blown away, but Teddy did look competent anyway. But there's also a reason why he's had 4 teams in 4 years- he's a very safe backup but not much more than that.
I don't like Bridgewater as a starting quarterback at all. I love him as a backup. A backup quarterback is asked to not lose a game for a half, one or two game stretch and I think he can do that with the best of them.
True, but I'm not sure what kind of teams Bridgewater has had around him. He throws a very catchable ball.
Last year in Denver he had Jeudy and #21 as solid receivers, but the line looked kind of rough. He evades pressure fairly well though and throws a very catchable ball with good placement. So all good stuff, he's actually a fairly decent comp to Tua. The only negative I saw was his ability to challenge the defenses he was playing- he took the safe throw and moved onto the next down. That's not a bad thing either, but it's why the Broncos were a .500 team. I didn't see a big desire to win...the strategy felt more like the old Sparano days when you played to not lose, let your opponents make the mistakes, etc. Again, I skimmed one season, one team. No idea what it was like in the years before that. I walked away with the feeling that he's probably a top-32 QB in the league, but not highly coveted as a starter because nothing jumped off the page. He's a good quarterback.
