Derp!!! I should have checked the date. It popped up in my Twitter timeline and I stoopidly assumed it was from today. Canty is such a turd, it would be surprising.

    Thanks for checking me.

Edit: This is why that video popped up. Canty was spewing more venom today and proved himself to be someone who is stretching to find reasons to kick up dirt. The thing is, all he needs to say is "Yes, he's had three good games but can he maintain it for a whole season?", but he's too proud to even do that.

Its a cottage industry and the talking heads never want to say “i was wrong.” Tua is winning them and even our hard heads over one by one. I have noticed the external voices going quiet quicker than the internal ones.

Wow, you’re going to compare Tagovailoa with Vick? Please, do share how Vick was a much better quarterback with than Tagovailoa.

I’ll argue, and be able to do so quantifiably that Vick was a running back that threw the ball…poorly in general. I remember one of the games we played against the Falcons during the Sporano era. The defense contained Vick in the pocket, not letting him run as he so often did and forced him to throw from the pocket. Needless to say, Vick sucked and the Dolphins won.

Tagovailoa, while not the running quarterback that’s become more prevalent today than years past is a much better quarterback than Vick was…and a much better quarterback than most in the league today.

He wants to see what Tagovailoa can do against upper echelon quarterbacks, huh? Well you all know my stance that quarterbacks don’t play against each other…they play against opposing defenses but for the sake of this idiotic tweet…

I guess Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are just mediocre quarterbacks.

You can’t fix stupid…not even with duct tape

I have reached the point where I can’t engage with hitman anymore. I do not believe he is in this for a good faith discussion and debate. He just wants to recycle his talking points yell them louder and move the goal posts with no actual consideration to what his eyes are seeing before him.

A win tonight with a solid performance from Tua will go a long way to quieting the doubters. Now if he has a bad game, it will add fuel to the fire no matter what the outcome.

Hitman wants more than 5 quarters of good play before crowning Tua. Somehow that makes him a bad faith poster?

    Absolutely ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure he's had more than just 5 quarters of good quarterback play.

Me too…but this is another opportunity for Tua to put a nail in the hater coffin. He should have had round the clock medical attention to give him the best chance of being good for the game.

SMH. I honestly believe some of his detractors really hope he is the guy and are just waiting for him to prove it. But I seriously think others hope he stinks it up, just to prove themselves right. Tua's second in QB rating and top 5 for most objective metrics, yet still taking on water with some Dolphins fans. Even if you're not convinced yet, why can't you be happy that he's playing well instead of *checks notes* counting how many subjectively good quarters he's played? How many good quarters have the QBs below him played? That's really where we are in this discussion?

I think it's fine to stay skeptical of Tua until after this season. First, you want his full season's passer rating to be in the range of SB winning QBs which is about 1 standard deviation above the mean. Currently, that's 103-ish (this will change as the season progresses.. variance is pretty high now). Second, you want him to show he is integral to winning playoff games.

If he shows both of those things and there are still detractors, then I think it's time to dismiss them as posters. Until then though, I think it's fine to keep asking for consistency. No question he's off to a tremendous start.

This post caught my eye and I’ll respond with, why not? Anybody see the Chargers v Jaguars game?

Those announcers were the biggest Herbert sympathizers. Herbert played like crap…and if he was too hurt to play effectively, then he shouldn’t have been playing. But those announcers were making every excuse in the world for Herbert.

My reply to that was ok, we’ll what about the Chargers defense? You mean they couldn’t stop Jacksonville and a 2nd year quarterback with a new head coach?

But you won’t get that with Tagovailoa. I’m CONFIDENT in Miami winning tonight but if they do lose, the daggers are coming out against Tua.

Never mind the fact that Tagovailoa put up a great game against New England.

Never mind the fact that Tagovailoa opened up a can of whoop a$$ on Baltimore

Never mind the fact that Tagovailoa played a great game against the odds on favorite to win the Super Bowl.

Never mind the fact that NO ONE had the Dolphins 3-0 with our brutal first 4 game stretch.

Never mind any of that at all, if Miami were to fall tonight, it’s going to be the same garbage the anti-Tua crowd has been spewing…Tua just plain sucks.

I’m about ready to spew the same nonsense when any of the great quarterbacks play a bad game and lose and I’ll start now…

Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen just plain suck. They couldn’t even beat the Dolphins!

Your comment seems like you're actively rooting for Tua to fail, just so you can see fans make excuses that he was injured and not rested.

Get out of here with your trolling BS.

Nope. Just don't want to hear excuses for poor play. Give props when he plays well, and critique when he plays poorly. Stop with the excuses. He already got two seasons of them.

Put me on ignore. I seem to upset you.

Let me just stop you right here. When Tua has a Herbert like season, like breaking the rookie TD and completion records with the worst offensive line in the sport, a coach/OC who was fired the subsequent season, he'll get excuses from the media. Until then, stop pretending they are on even ground.

So, following that amazing comeback, people immediately starting **** talking at hitman and some others (not saying they shouldn't, Tua did some amazing things). Hitman then responds back with things he saw that continue to concern him, and maintains that Tua needs to do it through the season to convince him. It's not like he's on here saying things that aren't true. I know some of you believe that you've seen enough that you believe that Tua's greatness far exceeds the criticisms Hitman is making. I get that. I'm not saying you are wrong. I'm just saying, others see it differently.

I don't believe hitman wants Tua to fail. I think from talking to him that he would love for Tua to finally show why he was drafted at #5 and be the QB we all want.

For me personally, I'm very pleased to see Tua seeming to have turned the corner. If he plays poorly tonight, ok, I won't have my pitchfork out. But, if he strings together 3 poor games, my concerns would loom large again. If he's the guy we all want him to be, he won't string together 3 or four poor games.

Right, I don't know anyone who is waiting for him to fail. I know people who aren't going Gaga yet because they want to be convinced it's real, not a flash in the pan.

I'm as excited as anyone that they're winning and Tua looks good! I'm shocked, honestly. I want to see it be consistent though, before I'm comfortable with Tua as our long-term plan.

    I’m sorry, what’s Herbert’s record breaking record vs Tagovailoa’s?

    Herbert is what, 16-19?
    Tagovailoa is 16-8

    Deal with it

Where did I say Vick was a great QB or that Vick was better than Tua? What I said was that being a lefty is not a reason why people have doubts about Tua, which is what you implied.

I've been watching the NFL for more than 50 years. I've never seen a team's fans so hard to attack a player, let alone a quarterback with a winning record. Now, they're going to salivate over drafting a quarterback next year. Be careful what you wish for. Salivate over the next Joe Burrow or Justin Herbert if you want, but just ask the Bears (Justin Fields), Niners (Trey Lance), and Jests (Zach Wilson) about how quickly a rookie QB can turn your team around.

I didn't want to draft Tua for this exact reason
I was blind for 3 games how well he was playing but let's face it his body is not meant to play this game.
I really think he should retire before he ends up paralyzed.

He'll be ok. He's going to travel back to Miami with the team. They're discharging him as we speak from the hospital. He most likely won't play against the Jets, but he'll be back. He's a tough dude. Glad it wasn't too serious. It looked bad initially.

This is one of the stupidest things I've ever read. Slam Justin Herbert's head against the turf and I guarantee he'll be screwed up, too. And hey, you know what? Joe Burrow, first overall pick who took his team to the SB, missed most of a year with...wait for it...an INJURY.
