See this is the kind of class I wish every fan of every team had. Thanks.

There are some Hurricane fans here that I hold a very high opinion of. The Canes have a very talented team, and that cannot honestly be ignored. Coming into the Swamp and going after Tebow, effectively, was a great sign for a young talented team. I have been openly rooting for Shannon to turn the team around because I think he is a good man that can rid the image of thug U.
I've said it before, but some probably don't know. I actually grew up a Canes fan. My father didn't watch college football, but I started watching during Vinny's Heisman campaign. It was natural for me to cling to the Canes after being such a big Dolphin fan. I turned my back on UM when I saw what Dennis Erickson let happen to the team. He was a disgrace. Since then, I've been a UF fan, and alumnus, so there's no going back for me. Sometimes I get sick of a fan base that I perceive to be quite poor. However, as I've said, I do have friends that keep me from throwing the baby out with the bath water.

The players are complaining about Nix's playcalling. They say that they're tired of the conservative play calling and they feel like he doesn't have confidence in them or something along the lines. I read the article in class today but I don't feel like searching for it haha. I agree with them though. You have to start opening up the playbook.

Here's a possible positive leading up to the game. Their starting QB, McGee, might be out of the game. He's somewhat of a dual-threat QB. However, they got the other young guy. Johnson, big tall kid who can run but can't pass to save his life from what I hear. I don't see him having much success running the ball because of the speed on our defense.

We will roll... Don't think this one stays that close. 2:30 start is going to kill the tailgate. I was hoping for a full day of tailgating. Guess we will just have to get out there by 6am...

    Beer for breakfast.

    Good grief! A freshman?

Out of all your guys, he impressed me the most.
No fear. Great body control and an obvious super athlete. Not to mention he's a football player, not just an athlete. I was very impressed.

Yep, pretty crazy how good he is as a freshmen. I agree though, I think he impressed the most. I think he is the next great LBer out of the :theu:. When he comes out, he'll probably be a 43 Linebacker though. He's too small and that could cost him if/or when he comes out.

Theres another few guys on the team that can be very good players. DeMarcus Van Dyke if he lives up to his hype, Arthur Brown can be good. Brown is a 6'1, 210 Linebacker that runs a 4.4 forty. Very quick player. Bailey, the DE, is coming off a pectoral injury I believe but can be a good player for us. Got a lot of hype. Brandon Harris is going to be a very good DB imo.

    Just my thoughts.

Scout.com is reporting that QB Jacory Harris will play in both halfs again. I don't agree with it. Marve was looking good last week and then they put in Harris. Also, Jermaine McKenzie will play. :D

Seriously and this is coming from a huge fan of Harris.

At least McKenzie is back, supposedly.

I think the idea is we need 2 QB to be ready. It does no good to be 9-1 and have Marve go down and put in another FR that has never played. After MArve got a score on a nice drive would not have been my choice to switch though. Maybe start the 2nd half with Harris.

Hurricanes Star Freshmen Sean Spence Humble Despite Hype And Praise

Miami Hurricanes' Sean Spence shows humility amid hype - 09/18/2008 - MiamiHerald.com

Makes me really happy. I think its pretty awesome how he was calling out the offenses plays in HS and now he's working on doing that in college. While he is still undersized at 6'0, 211, the players say that he uses his brain very well and can read plays well. He's very instinctive and that helps him a lot. I think that he could be a good fit for a 43 defense. An interesting point was made by Shannon in the article. Jonathan Vilma whose considered one of the best to come out of the U was about the same weight and size as Spence is now in his freshmen year. Vilma is currently 6'1, 230 pounds. I think Spence is the next big thing out of Miami and while many see that, I'm glad that he's not letting that get to him. Got to love that and he's only a freshmen!

Also want to pass along that Aldarius Johnson has been promoted to starting WR. Glad to hear, I love what he can bring for us.

Another guy that is going to be hyped a lot next year is Bryce Brown. Bryce is Arthur Brown's (the LB) brother and Bryce is a very good back coming out of HS. He can do it all. He can catch, block, bang between the tackles, outrun you and run over you. There has been only one knock on him so far and that's his elusiveness in the open field but I don't worry. We need a RB that could help us bring back the fame at the spot, hopefully he can do that for us. Cooper and James are good but I don't think they are the same quality that we have had in the past.

Hurricanes are number two defense, allowing only 16 points per game and 235 total yards per game including only an average of 69 on the ground. We're also the number three scoring defense in the conference.

Btw, where are all the Canes fans? lol.

Getting ready for the game tomorrow, and hopefully a big day for Spence.:knucks: I hope Marve starts, he needs the time in for experience in a game.

Alen, playing Jacory Harris is more about recruiting, as they are still after a number of the Miami Northwestern kids coming out this year. Randy is playing politics, and gambling a bit that it doesn't hurt us too much in games.

Bad angle of pursuit on the first TD. Great offensive drive to counter.

Wow. 66-yard TD down the drain for something completely irrelevant.

Had the chance to put them in a hole. Instead we've got another terrible punt.

It's crazy how talented our skill players are. Once these guys get some experience they will be extremely dangerous.

And it looks like our skill players will finally have a solid QB to get them the football.

Marve has looked spectacular thus far.

Marve is definitely looking great. He has the arm and the head, he never looks like he is lost out there like some of our other QB's have in recent years. Even under pressure he never just tries to wing it like Berlin did at times. The protection has been much better for him so far though and I think that has a lot to do with it.
