man that defense was impressive to me today

when you o,ay he best qb in football playing his hardest hes gonna make the olays he did, but to make the game come down to our team executing and making him make the extraordinary play was the difference..

i said after we went down 7 “i loved what i saw from the defense, i know it sounds weird”

That was amazing. I've seen the reverse many times in that heat, but they made the offense take the the short stuff by constantly blitzing and wore them out. 17 points! Amazing.

I agree with you... they screwed up because of the defense constant attacking.

While it was a great win we got lucky yesterday in a lot of regards. Our defense has to be better yes it was against good team but we can’t drop these interceptions, we can’t allow cheap screens and passes to go for 9+ yards a catch. Hopefully we can use the next few games to tighten up! Boyer is still not my favorite person and a liability IMHO

I legitimately think that this was the game plan. I think our goal was to take away what the Bills do best - stretch the field. I think we decided to give them the little stuff but we were not gonna let them have the big chunk plays.

I think that the mentality behind this is that this is exactly how the Bills can get up big quickly. You blink, and suddenly, you are losing 21-3. Once you get into that situation, you have to throw away a large chunk of your playbook. If you make them have longer drives, you effectively shorten the time of the game because there are fewer possessions.

My main grief with what I’m seeing the last two weeks….

When we are facing mobile quarterbacks (Allen/Jackson etc) and have a free rusher in his face…. It needs to be explained, never bite on the ball fakes or jump!

Who cares if he throws it over your head. Force him to make one read and unload under pressure or eat the sack.

Problem is once he gets that player off his feet… it’s game over. QB can now scramble to buy a ton of time and make an easy (unpressured) pass downfield or just run the ball himself.

It’s one thing if you are getting blocked out of the play and jump to obstruct/bat down a pass. Or jump towards a pocket passer (Flacco/Brady ect) who isn’t going anywhere.

But defense needs to be more disciplined when running at Allen types.

last night they were rushing 3 or 4 players, it was horrible to watch. Best QB in the game and you decide to let him have as much time as he needs to find an open receiver? Terrible!

Our defense was playing well until Tua got injured. Lack of any ability to move the ball afterwards except for one great play to Hill (who is the MVP so far this season for the Dolphins) was the primary reason we couldn't compete afterwards. I think we had a 50/50 chance to win until Tua went down.

    Get a new GM.

The line doesn't have the talent to get pressure on QBs without blitzing. The LBs lack everything. The secondary is overpaid/injury prone. The team just isn't that good, and no amount of coaching is going to fix it.

Start with working on the fundamental skill of tackling. Seems like our players are more interested in stripping the ball or going for a knock out shot. I think things would go a lot better if they just wrapped up the guy and brought them down on first contact.

I'm sure he'll follow Rhule back to college but I'd be tempted to give Phil Snow a call. He seemed to be doing a good job coaching up a young defence in Carolina. Their issues mainly seemed to be on the other side of the ball.

This x1000. We had 9 1st and 2 round picks in the 2020-2021 draft and all we have to show for it is a good G, S and WR. Tua is good when healthy but can’t be depended on for a full season. Of the remaining, two are complete busts and three are marginal starters. Not acceptable if you want to win a super bowl.

Recipe to fix defense- get starters back, then turn 'em loose. Defense fixed.

Turn them loose now, this bend and break stuff is horrible. Jets are not good.

I watch other teams and they seem to play much faster then our defense.

I been saying how Phillips and Ogbah have been a major disappointment this year and some people were disagreeing.
They indeed have been a major disappointment.
I thought we wound be getting tons of pressure this year, but……..they’re a big giant BUTT.

They get their sacks when we attack and the OL gets confused.

This. But it's not just us, I see it on just about every team now. Defenders going for the ball first and letting the ball carrier get extra yards because they've not been brought down or wrapped up properly.

It disgusts and infuriates me. Sloppy, low quality football. Just wrap up and make the tackle and bring the man down.

I like how a defender will just break down into a tackle stance waiting for the offensive player to make a move instead of just going and making the tackle. Our defenders do this a lot.
