Have to say I haven’t seen the Dolphins make moves like this in a long time. If ever. It “feels” like there some belief in the team, even from management, even though he’s been a disaster.

I feels great for a change. Just wish that so many would stop just crapping on the team at every chance. I get it I tell people I’m a long suffering Dolphin fan. But sometimes you have to belief. Even if it’s been a long time of having our hopes dashed.

I love seeing that the team is making loves. It’s been a long time since we did and it was meaningful.

Totally agree. It's also the first time we may have a franchise QB since Marino. Those two things go together.

Also, there's a small window of opportunity here with Tua on his rookie deal to spend money elsewhere. It becomes much harder to spend like we did on Hill and Chubb once Tua gets a huge long term contract. I really hope this year or the next (we need to get the defense fixed) is the year we make a serious run for the SB.

I agree. The difference between this time and previous attempts to build a winner is Grier's bringing players in based on logic and not simply trying to make a splash. For example: Bringing in Suh was a huge move, but in the end, his deal had an opportunity cost of two or three good starters, if not top-3 players at their positions. In hindsight, that loot might have been better spent. The only problem with the team now is we put good assets on the OL alongside outright scrubs. Hopefully, that'll be the #1 priority next offseason.

With that being said, we've clearly opened up a competitive window and I hope we make the most of it.

I’ll admit to wanting to hold onto the draft capital to build the OL and RB in particular, maybe also build depth on D as our D appears to be really good when our starters are healthy.

Having said that Hill and Chubb address areas of huge importance in the modern NFL.

The other aspect of going ‘all in’ was firing Flores. There simply is no way Flores would have this offense operating anywhere near its current level with the same personnel. It was a ballsy move to cut ties with a coach who had put together back to back winning seasons after the rebuilding job he had to do in 2019.
McDaniel is still showing signs of being wet behind the ears in some of his coaching moves but he is putting together a great scheme that takes full advantage of Tua, Tyreek and co.

Grier doesn't know how to draft OL. At this point I'm fine if he somehow finds a way to fix pass protection in FA. Just fix it.

Drafting depth on D is a good idea. And throw in some extra OL in there too just in case the blind squirrel analogy applies. RB? Not sure we need anything more there. It's the passing game that matters most, and we might finally have a good one.

We're currently the #6 seed in the AFC, and I think an argument could be made that we possibly would have won 2 or all 3 of the games we lost when Tua was down in concussion protocol. This team is the real deal folks, and we certainly are a playoff team. The Bills could beat us (especially up north) and there's a handful of other teams that can pace us, but this really could be our year if Tua stays healthy.

Keeping Flores probably would have meant getting Watson so they would have a lot less talent and probably be 1-7

Suh was a mistake because moves like that are a luxury when you don't have a good enough QB to win. In today's NFL, offense first then defense. Defense no longer wins championships. It's important, but if you don't have an offense that can keep up with offensive juggernauts like the Bills, Chiefs, etc. that upside is limited.

Tua and this offense can keep pace with most offenses if things are clicking so shoring up the defense is a good move.

I don't think it's all-in. All in would be if they have no hope to re-sign Chubb and they're just renting him.

As a Toronto Sports fan we saw an All-In move with the trade for Kawhi Leonard that led to Ship and The Blue Jays went all in with the likes of David Price in 2015 only to lose in the ALCS, 2 years later they were bottom dwellers.

The Phins haven't really blown a team out yet this year (I guess the game against the Pats counts as a blowout by NFL standards). They should be able to handle Chicago easily. These next few games will show if they're worth the hype.

But if they don't win a playoff game or even make the playoffs, this core will be around for awhile still, the core is locked down.

The issue is that trading and losing their two first round picks have definitely linked them with Tua for the next few years. There's not drafting a replacement and they don't really have the assets anymore to trade for another comparable QB1.

The Bears destroyed the Pats a couple weeks ago. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

The Pats aren't good. Especially when the game is an audition on the better QB.

Tua's not going to be able to carve up the Bears. But Justin Fields also won't be able to score like the Lions did.

We have good references to the last two opponents because of previous games against the Cowboys. The Dolphins scored more points against the Lions than the Cowboys did. The Cowboys put up 49 against the Bears last week.

I agree Key…I really think if we hadn’t lost Tua, we’d be undefeated. I really mean that! Not just what he does on the field, but his overall presence just seems to elevate everyone’s game…on both sides of the ball…

Multiple people have commented on the increased energy level around the team when Tua is playing.
