Anybody got any ideas who we should pick up to start next week ?

I know most people are checked out…..But we are still in the Playoffs with a win and Patriots loss to the Bills.

Teddy B officially has a broken finger on his throwing hand.

We saw Tennesse acknowledge that Malik Willis is nowhere near an NFL caliber QB. They signed Dobbs off Lions practice squad and immediately started him 6 days later.

Skylar is a terrible QB and we can safely say he has no business playing in the league.

Soooooo. Honest question what are our options?

My first thought was Reid Sinnett.
I believe he was on our practice squad at one time earlier this season.

But I see he is now under contract with the XFL…

It's going to be Thompson next week. My question is does Buffalo rest the starters? If they do, then I think New England gets the win and they're in regardless. With that said, I don't even think we can beat the Jets unless Tua plays. I don't see it with Thompson. He has got the weakest arm I think I have ever seen at the position. Every throw he made today was slow, late, and telegraphed.

What did Skylar do to have you convinced he sucks ?

    -Terrible pocket awareness
    -Wildly inaccurate.
    -Weak arm
    -Slow release of the ball
-Was not on the same page with any of the receivers. (Hill, Geisiki and Waddle all had examples where he didn’t understand their route)
-Slow and awkward trying to run ball
    -Soft
-Checked the ball down on 4th and 17
    -poor decision maker
-even more inaccurate when throwing on the run

I could go on…. But now I’m convinced you may have been asking this question in jest. And I should not have answered seriously.

Yeah I understand traditionally you just stick with what you got. It’s easy and convenient.

But in this case we have to sign a QB to play next week regardless (backup or starter) and try to get him somewhat up to speed. Might as well just start him if he seems to pick up what the offense is trying to do.

No arguing Dobbs looked much better than Willis.
And Mayfield looked much better then Perkins.

Both those guys were picked up on a game week and immediately started. (Just this month)

At this point if Tua isnt ready, im giving cedric Wilson the first team reps… yea, thats how much i think about Skylar.. i dont think Wilson can do worse ..

we overpaid for him.. lets see if we can get something out of him..

It would definitely be more entertaining than watching him return punts.

We worked out a couple QBs last week.

Apparently Reid Sinnett’s XFL contract does allow him to be signed to an active NFL roster….

A few more likely dudes considering the coaches have seen them up close.

See if Arch Manning wants to skip college and go right to the NFL. Heck, at this point, his grandfather is a better option than Skylar.

If Tua is out, this game is doomed. Either way, this season is doomed. No way we go to Buffalo/Cincy and win a road game.

No, I didn't ask in jest.
A first year rookie without first team reps in practice gets thrown into action and plays like a first year rookie without first team reps in practice and he's a complete failure already ?
Wow, thats a bit premature. Maybe he does suck but let's give him time to convince us he doesn't. This game was hardly a final decision performance.

I'm on board with weak arm and slow release of the ball. But I don't understand "soft" and "slow and awkward to run ball?" He picked up a real nice run for 1st down that was called back due to illegal motion. He seems much more mobile than Tua or Teddy.

The Chiefs game being flexed to Saturday could end up complicating things. Could open up a small scenario where the Bills lock up #1 before their Sunday game. If it goes the other way and Chiefs lock it up how hard would the Bills try if its a question of #2 vs #3? I would assume they try because if nothing else do they really want to risk a first round matchup against Lamar or Herbert?

His first rush attempt he had a guy blocking in front of him and still slid down 3 yards behind the blocker even. No defensive player near him. Several other wide open chances to run the ball and he appeared afraid to do so.

He was hit twice and got up grimacing in pain like he was seriously considering leaving the field. The only game he started earlier this season… he left injured.

But he didn't leave the field? He's taken some really good hits and has stayed up.

I wouldn't say splitting his throwing thumb open against a helmet where he couldn't grip the ball against the Vikings makes him soft.

What's Matt Moore doing? He's got more SB rings than all the starting QBs in the AFC East.

    The #2 seed will likely play;
    Miami or New England

    The #3 seed will likely play;
    LA Chargers or Baltimore

You could argue there is still some motivation there…

I get your points, I do, but you're talking about a rookie QB coming off the bench in the middle of a must-win game with playoff implications. Yes, he did all of the above...but give the kid a break. That's the expectation of any rookie in that situation.

Oh my gosh, could you even imagine? We could win a few playoff games with Fitz at the helm. Dream scenario for him as well, but I'd guess he's nowhere near game shape right now.
