I was actually comparing him to the very worst quarterback in the entire NFL and he falls way below even him.

    It’s a playoff game.
You are either ready right this instant or you are irrelevant. Experience and development is a non factor at this stage.

I think the team coming out and saying Skylar is ‘banged up’ even furthers my suspicion he won’t be setting foot on the field in Buffalo.

    PFF likes what Skylar did.

    Football reference had Skylar's pressure % at 54.5%. That's a LOT.

I’d rather see Skylar than Glennon, and that’s saying something. Trotting Glennon out there for a playoff game would be a colossal embarrassment and would guarantee getting beat “like a rented mule” this weekend.

With that said, I’d rather see nine fingers Teddy than either of the other two.

Spread just dipped from 10.5 to 9. Make whatever you want about that.

It would have to be Teddy. Yeah that pick six was horrendous but they will have to take some shots. Skylar was making Teddy look like a full gunslinger.

Not downplaying the importance of the quarterback play, but quarterback play is going to less of an impact on our ability to beat the Bills than the running game. If the Dolphins can't run the ball, it's not going to matter who's under center.

I don't think that's true at all. It will come down to whether our defense can miraculously keep the Bills from scoring more than in the low 20's, and whether we have the same kind of play at QB as we had from Tua last time he went to Buffalo (and we absolutely need Tua to start). Those seems like the 2 keys to the game.

If we are not moving the ball, theres no way in hell our defense is going to keep buffalo from scoring. Our defense can only do so much, and three and outs does not help them. We need solid quarterback play and our running game, both balanced to have a shot at beating buffalo.

I dont see buffalo doing anything special defensively this sunday. If im buffalo, i know miami’s weakness is their offensive line and that they dont need to blitz to put pressure on skylar or teddy. They can rush 4 every snap and likely come away with enough pressure/qb hits and some sacks.

Teddy does seem to always throw that critical INT. :( was so rooting for him when we picked him up

The only way we hold Buffalo to the low 20s is by getting consistent pressure on Allen, which will hopefully make him throw a couple of dumb picks. Ingram, Chubb and Phillips need to show up and ball out.

I would say we need a good game plan from Boyer, but that’s about as likely as someone handing me the keys to a Lamborghini.

Most important part of that gameplan is to make sure any pressure keeps Allen in the pocket. Allen is as elite as they get when he rolls out, but in the pocket he's not as good.

While our defense is indeed going to need to step up it’s game (which I highly doubt Boyer will be able to), on offense if Miami can’t run the ball, the offense isn’t going to have a snowballs chance in hell.

Miami is going to have to be able to keep the Bills defense on the field for as long as possible and the only way to do that is effectively run the ball. Now the Dolphins CAN do it. In last Sunday’s game against the Jets, they had 30 carries averaging 5 yards per carry…and there were no BIG runs to skew that. I think the Dolphins longest run from scrimmage was like 20 yards, so they were able to pound the rock against a GOOD running defense in the Jets.

This is going to have to be an old fashioned smash mouthed football with the Dolphins offense and the Bills defense. If we can’t control the LOS, TOS and not have to put extra pressure on whomever is under center, we’re done.

Well that does it.. why watch I guess. Offense isn't going to do anything, so the only way we win is if the defense scores or gets a bunch of turnovers lol. Rest of the postseason for me is finding teams to root against! Bills are one of them.

Still worth watching because dolphins in the playoffs seems like a once in a lifetime thing .. some people with kids will reminisce like hey remember the last time the dolphins were in the playoffs 20 years ago, with the nerd at head coach and no quarterback.

Chubb cannot run past him and leave that lane open for Allen to run into.

I wonder how the split of time in possession will end up? I can see many 3 and outs for Miami happening.

I would say that's more Phillips who breaks contain which is deadly vs Allen.

Take the spread, it's going to be a bloodbath. Bills will likely have 13 or 14 offensive possessions due to our inability to move the ball and since they average 2.52 points per drive it's safe to assume they will score over 30 points.

This is going to get ugly unless we manage to run 40 times for 250 yards.

My prediction is Skylar Thompson will either start or finish the game. If Bridgewater starts he goes down before the half. Any word on who's been getting the first team snaps this week?

Edit: nevermind just saw it's official. I'm happy it's him and not Bridgewater.

Both of them need to stay home and not turn Allen loose. Let the big boys in the middle flatten Allen.

Yeah, can't have Glass Joe as a backup QB. He's been a huge disappointment in terms of ability to stay on the field. If Tua can play again next year, Miami will need to spend significant resources on a dependable backup.

I just look at his body language on the sidelines and the field, and the fact that he did not try to get back on the field despite a finger injury.. thats all i need to know that he was a waste. And i was good with the signing in the offseason.. but something tells me he expected to have the starting job week 1 and has had a bad attitude since.. who knows what grier told him before he gave him a contract

Our genius GM thought it was a great idea to back up an injury prone QB with another injury prone QB, and protect them with an injury prone left tackle. No one saw this coming....
