Why do we take Davis out on pass rushes? He is massive and takes up 2 blockers, it would free up another rusher

If your defense is worse and you have absolutely no QB it doesn't matter if you have a better roster overall

 

Flores at least understood defense, and used cover zero because he had the CBs for it.

Boyer doesn't understand defense at all. He uses cover zero without the personnel for it because it's the only thing he knows how to do.

 

It woudlnt really be up to Grier. It's McDaniel's staff...

The only thing the Dolphins have that's above average is a line. The talent level deficiency on D is too large. A coach isn't fixing this hot mess.

 

Problem is all the injuries this year, especially at CB. Alot easier to be successful with it when you have Howard, Jones, and Needham on the field. Instead of Howard, Kohou, Campbell (who?), and whatever other live body we found on the street before the game. No way he should be still calling it as much as he does without the talent.

 

Defense is not worse talent wise but the guy who runs the defense seems to not really have a clue…

 

Cmon guys, 1 first down and we can run a play in their half.

the secondary is made up of a lot of practice squad players.

Chargers and Broncos had tons of injuries on the defensive side too, but they‘ve done better…

 

It absolutely is worse talent wise this year given the fact we're without Byron Jones, Nik Needham and Brandon Jones. That's 3 starters alone.

Boyer's fatal failure this year is the failure to adjust to losing the above guys and still putting the pressure of Cover 0 on DB's that can't cover becuase they're just not as good as what youve lost.

 

Exactly though. If I'm Boyer and I have Crossen and Howard to hold receivers down 1 on 1. I'm not calling it.
