You think going 0-17 with Thompson is better than having a fully healthy Tua going into 2023. We get it. Or, sign Brady to a 3 year deal for $150 million.
Then you draft a QB high starting once again the search for a long-term solution. But until then you do what you can to protect Tua. McDaniel has an offseason now to work with Tua so that defenses can't as easily shut our offense down as they did since the 49ers game. Tua clearly improved from last year, independent of surrounding cast IMO. No reason he can't do the same next year. But durability issues can trump all of that. That Tua couldn't start in the playoffs probably cost us a playoff win. So if he keeps having concussions you start a serious search for a new QB.
Again, you are making shi* up. I didn't say they should tank. I said they should get Brady. A QB1 that stays on the field. Going into the season with Tua as QB1 and expecting him to stay healthy. Needing to find a backup QB1 to prop up your injured QB1. Well, I've seen this script already and doing it again is the definition of insanity. The organization simply isn't serious about winning if they do that, which makes sense given Grier is staying on.
What an unbelievably stupid idea! Start Thompson just to tank! My God people really do hate Tua that much! Oh....And imagine signing a 47 year old Tom Brady to a 150 Million dollar contract.
I truly wonder how Raiders fans will feel about having Captain Tuck Rule as their QB. A little like waking up in bed with an ugly stranger? Kinda feeling good but with a really bad taste in your mouth and sorta sore in unusual places? I guess in the end, what happens in Vegas...
Good, I'm glad they didn't wait six months to make this call. Now it's simply up to Tua to decide if we wants to continue playing (which I think he does).
Keep the trio of Grier Tua and MCD another year.. keep building around Tua, Coach needs to fix his warts, and grier needs to hit in free agency again.
Michael Lombardi says he knows for a fact McDaniel openly admits in the building that he knows nothing about defense so he only focuses on the offense and the defensive coordinator is the head coach of his unit and the special teams coordinator is in charge of his unit and McDaniel gives zero input on special teams just like he gives zero input on defense. This basically makes McDaniel a glorified offensive coordinator who masquerades as a head coach. Lombardi also says the Dolphins have been making calls trying to hire a new defensive coordinator for weeks.
Lmao. Did you see the stat just posted? Tampa Bay has converted only 3 of 59 3rd down conversions this season, the lowest in the league since 1980. And you think Brady is the answer?
Watching him right now is painful. He has nothing left. If we had to watch this 3 yard curl pass offense every play I would go insane.
Tua had 3 yard dink and dunks all season last year and was criticized for not being able to throw the long ball. I guess if you’re anti-Tua, it’s terrible but if Brady does it, it’s good field management and that the quarterback we’ve GOT to have lol
Announcers not mentioning that the most missed extra points in a single game by a kicker is 3. Brett Maher just tied that record, held by 9 others. If Maher can somehow miss another one we've got a new record!! lol.. Actually, Maher now has the record for most misses in a playoff game. Previous record was 2. EDIT: he missed his 4th extra point. RECORD! lol..
He got the yips, like when a baseball player suddenly "forgets" how to make a routine throw. This is a real problem for them and he may not recover. Though it seems like the Dallas O probably is gonna add a few more scores for him to practice.
Yeah.. it's good that we got to see this game. It's clear Brady isn't the elite QB he used to be. I mean he's the oldest QB to ever start an NFL game so it would be amazing if age didn't catch up to him. Finally, after years of hoping he no longer has it, he no longer does.
Sounds like an ideal job situation to lure a top defensive coordinator. They get full autonomy over the defense and don’t have to worry about too much meddling or others taking credit for the work.
Well, we are specialists, after all! For me, I'm sure that the above statement is probably true- he doesn't have additional risk (once he fully recovers from this concussion). But how does Tua feel? Or his wife/parents/family? Those are the only opinions that matter here outside of his doctors since that's what a decision will be based on. Most of you know I was/am a big Matt Moore fan. He started his career in Carolina in a similar situation to our line talent, and he got battered pretty hard his first season. In year two, he had multiple concussions but he kept being thrown back out there, playing lousy football and essentially killing his chances as an NFL starter. Nobody wants that for any NFL player, so that's why I'm more on the 'cautious' side of this. Tua comes first, not football. If he returns, I'll fully support him since I think he's an amazing talent. But if he decides to walk away, I'll support him there too. He did briefly consider retirement after the 1st concussion this year and sought several opinions (which was smart), so we know he's at least thought about it. I don't think we should pretend that he hasn't thought about it this time either, especially since this appears to be a more serious concussion (or, they're being more proactive and taking the process slow). Personally, I just want what's best for Tua, and only he can make that decision.
right, he might want to play, but a wife and family nagging at you can really mess up everything. Was a Moore fan too.
Being from the NYC area, you would know that this is Craig Carton. He was a very successful morning radio shock jock before he got sent away to prison for fraud for two years. He is now out of jail and even more of a shock jock. He's very successful at it. But, he knows zero about sports and doesn't have any sources.
Very insightful, thanks for that. Not that I put any weight into splashy click-bait titles anyway, but it's always good to have context.
Nope, that's what was actually posted on the ESPN broadcast of the game. I had to do a double take, hit rewind on the DVR to make sure I read it right.
