Carr could be really interesting if he could stay focused on the offense and not free lance.

Agreed. Even the Milano push was a nothingburger. I'm just more speaking to the overall narrative that Tua gets hurt because the line is so bad. That's really not the case. Tua seldom gets hit when you compare to the rest of the league. This is consistent in his career. His release is too quick. He doesn't really stand in and take that big hit too often. Hilariously, Skylar Thompson was hit the same amount of times as Tua last year.

IMO, he would be an upgrade over Jones, but I am not saying he will be good next season.

How many teams would take Tua over their starting QB in a straight up trade? Maybe 8 or 9?

Rough count - I'm at 13 where it's a no brainer. With probably 4-5 in the middle where it's hard to say.

    Let’s see…and I’m spit balling here…

    Washington
    New England
    NY Jets
    NY Giants
    Chicago
Green Bay (depending on what Rodgers does)
    Indianapolis
    Houston
    Atlanta
    New Orleans
    Carolina
    Tampa Bay
    Phoenix
    LA Rams
    Las Vegas

I count 16 that would be ecstatic if they had a shot at Tua.

Chicago is not going to give up on Fields that quick after what he showed year 1.
Giants with Daniel Jones is debatable after a much improved year with limited weapons.
I didn't count Green Bay because no idea what they're doing with Rodgers.
Stafford is only 1 year removed from Superbowl winning QB. I don't see them taking Tua over him, especially with the injury concern.

Those are 4 I don't think I counted, which means I must have counted 1 or 2 teams you didn't, but I didn't bother noting them so not sure which ones those might be.

Edited to add: I don't see Pittsburgh on your list and I counted them.

Certainly doesn't sound like they are all-in on Tua unless they are working out an extension which would be especially stupid:

Completely subjective take. Where exactly does he get that 90% of QBs who can make a 60 yard throw cant make that 20 yard throw? He just pulled that out of his own ***...

I was watching McDaniel interviewed on NFL talk show on Sky Sports (Mike Florio and Chris Simms). He is hard work to listen to . Can't imagine him being very motivational in the locker room.

The three guys in a room are McDaniel, Florio and Simms, and you found McDaniel to be the one who’s hard to listen to?

Wonder if they are trying to get Tua to sign a team friendly incentive based extension?

Possibly but I think any deal like that would need to include large amounts of injury protection and outs.

Seeing how the team is cash strapped with being $16 million over the cap, THIS makes the most sense. But then again, there are some here who feel this is some sort of indictment against the team’s support and endorsement of Tua

I mean, contracts aren't really contracts in the NFL since the teams are allowed to cancel the contracts at any time or restructure them through incentives and cash bonuses. The salary cap really isn't a hard wall like some people believe...there's tons of wiggle room.

Which makes no sense to me. There are many who would ejaculate at the thought of Jackson coming to Miami. There’s one problem with that though…

We’d have to have a REALLY good back-up seeing how Jackson has missed more games over the past two years than Tua has.

And yet everyone clamors about Tagovailoa’s durability????

Not just that, but signing him for $50+ million is going to result in trimming the roster significantly. We might not be able to resign Waddle, Wilkins and/or Phillips. The opportunity cost of acquiring and resigning Jackson literally blows up everything the team did in the past four seasons to reset its roster. No bueno..
