Neither of these deals are fully completed yet, but it looks like both are strong possibilities in the weeks ahead. If it happens, this is going to be the most competitive division in the league and make things very interesting the next few years.
Pats are stupid, but we already know that by letting one of the greatest qb's of all time who had won them 7 rings to walk while he was still on top of his game, the single dumbest football decision ive ever witnessed. The colts should jump on Lamar but their GM is also not smart considering he thought Phillip Rivers Carson Wentz and Matt ryan were the answers.
Here’s my take… If the Jets do land Rodgers, they’ll be competitive, but it’s going to be short lived, much like it was for Favre. I could see Rodgers doing what Favre did, try to get back to the NFC north to stick it to Green Bay. That and his age really doesn’t concern me, especially with it being the Jets. As for Jackson, there’s all the talk about Tua and his durability, but the same is true about Jackson. He’s missed 5/6 games his last two seasons, one of the major reasons Arthur Blank bailed on his pursuit of Jackson in Atlanta. That’s probably the same thought process Kraft and Belichick are applying to pursuing Jackson…not to mention the last “running” quarterback they had in Newton was a failure. Don’t worry Fins fans, we’re not going to be destroyed by some imaginary boogie man.
The Jets with Rodgers will definitely be more competitive but he's not good enough to carry an entire offense and coaching staff anymore. The offensive line is a huge question mark and so is their running game because of injuries. The Jets defense was very overrated last season, the never got turnovers and folded in big spots late in the game. Edit: Here's a list of the quarterbacks the Jets beat last year... Jacoby Brissett Mitch Trubisky/Kenny Pickett Skylar Thompson Aaron Rodgers Brett Rypien Josh Allen Trevor Siemien
If Hall can make a comeback next year it could make the Jets dangerous offensively by keeping pressure off Rodgers. The big question mark for them is OL. Have they improved in that area through free agency? If you can't block well it won't matter how skilled you are elsewhere. I think sad sack Rodgers will eat more turf than he's used to and his old man body will not hold up to the punishment.
