Tua is not the Problem

Because that was a troll thread, at least from the point of view of a lot of posters, me included. Insults were flying in the thread we're currently in (what other thread lol), and resnor posted this in a heated exchange with TheHighExhaulted:

It's right after that post that the "all positive thread" was created. That "all positive thread" was a troll thread if there ever was one.

You want a sincere discussion of Tua's positive traits there's no reason to create a separate thread with some "rule" you can't post negative comments (that's the trolling part.. acting like not being able to post negative comments is the reality here). Why not emphasize those positive traits here instead of constantly focusing on the negatives?

Synopsis of the conversation:

Person A: Yeah!!!! We just got Tyreek!!!!!!! Tua will FINALLY have some weapons!!

Person B: Tua sucks. He cannot throw the ball 5 yards down field. Tyreek is going to regret this!!!!!

(after Tyreek has a career best year in many categories)

Person A: Tua had a great year (proceeds to list a copious amount of statistical evidence).

Person B: Of course Tua had a big year "statistically" (pfff, who looks at stats anyway), the Dolphins acquired Tyreek. It was all Tyreek......

" Herbert is elite, the way he hits those receivers downfield is beautiful ".

This is where (IMO) they clearly identify themselves. They can look at that chart and see Tua separated from the rest of the league by a WIDE margin. This includes separation from Burrow and Hurts (who have stacked receiving corps as well). Rather than saying that the receiving talent and scheme help Tua's stats, they try to take all credit away.

Nobody is even claiming that Tua is the #1 QB, just that he deserves credit for his performance.

No one is obligated to be thrilled and impressed by some stat lines. That's all Tua supporters do is keep posting some stats from last season. Lets just completely ignore he lost the last four games he started last season and lets ignore the first two years of his career.

The problem is, IRL, I tend to be very detailed when it comes to a discussion. I try to make sure we are all in agreement on definitions, metrics, etc. So people see me arguing stuff in here, but FOR ME, it's not about Tua. It's about what I perceive to be erroneous or fallacious arguments. People don't understand, their argument can be wrong, or fallacious, but their conclusion can be correct. Me arguing with them isn't me necessarily saying they're wrong, I just maybe disagree with the level of confidence they have.

It is was not, and was never intended to be, a troll thread.

It was a legitimate attempt to have a thread for positive talk, so that people could talk there instead of arguing in this thread.

But people like you have to ascribe evil motives to people, and just stay in here and argue.

Yeah well there were a lot of posters that saw it the same way I did. Whatever your intentions, that's the closest thing to a troll thread I've ever seen in here. If you have trouble understanding how people can see it that way, imagine a pro-Tua poster starting an "all negative Tua thread" and saying you're not allowed to post anything positive about Tua. That's basically what you did.

I pointed out that for a lot of people it was a troll thread. There's nothing wrong with saying that. And don't act like you're against insults either. You keep making your share of insults, and your support of Sceeto constantly insulting people (e.g., just now with your likes of his insults) shows otherwise.

Yes absolutely true! How many incredibly talented receivers do we see struggle with subpar Quarterbacks throwing to them? I could name a ton of them over the years. Garrett Wilson instantly comes to mind over there with the Jets. Look at the decline Diontae Johnson had for Pittsburgh after Roethlisberger left. Devante Parker was a 1,000 yard receiver with us, and barely existed with Mac Jones throwing him the ball. Kenny Golladay is damn near out of the league with Daniel Jones as his quarterback. I realize these aren't "elite" names, but these guys are all very talented.
Elite names like Randy Moss are only attached to Quarterbacks that have won MVPs and had HOF careers in this league. In fact, the two worst years of Moss's career came in 05-06 during his Raiders stint. Kerry Collins, Andrew Walter, Aaron Brooks...These were the Quarterbacks throwing to him...After that he went to the Patriots.

 

Certainly sounds like Tua is being misled:

 

Tua and every player in the NFL. Nobody cares.

 

People care about other people. You don't. Don't project that on other people.

Additionally, this is more specific to Tua if he is being told this only impacts linebackers and lineman. That's straight nonsense. I hope Tua has the right people around him helping him make decisions because it sounds like he doesn't.
