    Dear Heroes Writers,

Days of the future past has been already... And Stan Lee did it wayyy better. If you must, plagiarize.

I really want to love this show. Season 1 was great. A few poor eps in the bunch, but overall very good (except the finale).

This show is so convoluted. Have these writers ever heard of "motivation?" Mohinder (SP?) turning into symbiotic spider-man was straight out of a soap opera. He went from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde without any reasoning. And Sylar? Jumping the shark? Very close to it if the fonz isn't already in mid air.

There is so much potential for this show. I hope it can get itself on track. I don't have much confidence.

P.S. Hiro still owns. "we need to set a trap. That's what Batman always does with Catwoman."

Yeah, pieces of last night's show were cool, but it's not really hooking me with the plot. Mohinder continues to bother the **** out of me. I can't stand his wienie assed character turned bad ***.

    you got that too huh...

one thing i really hate about this show is there really is no definitive plot. it's like the characters "evolve" every single show so you really can never keep straight who's doing what or who has what powers. It's kind of dumb that way. It's like they let a 5 year old in around the writers table.

"what do you want to happen on the show today honey?"

"I want Hiro to discover that there is an explosive and now he can fly....so he flies to the moon with the explosive....but then that causes the moon to break apart into two pieces....and then it causes major tidal waves on earth so he has to go back in time and marry nathan."

it's like huh?? i just don't like the fact that it's turning into Seinfeld....it really is turning into a show of random people with no real objective.

I wanted to like the show, and I stand by my original statement that the first 20 minutes of the show were great.

One of my biggest problems with Smallville was that we would see these "world ending" season finales, only to have everything resolved within the first episode or two of the next season. Heroes seems to be falling into that trap, a little bit.

The problem I have with this show is that none of the characters seem to be growing or expanding. Present day Peter is far more of a wuss than future Peter, and we've seen no growth from Claire (still a moody teenager, although we have to assume she has graduated), Hiro, or the rest of the gang. They're all still pretty much the same people we saw in season 1.

    Specific thoughts on the episodes:
The deus ex machina of a formula that will "destroy the world" is pretty lame, in my opinion.

If you bash Sylar in the head, run. If you're freakin' indestructible, jump through a damn window.

I laughed out loud when Sylar scoffed at eating Claire's brain.

The fact that Claire is "different" from the rest of them leads me to believe that they're heading towards some type of "pureblood" storyline, like vampires or even like the Harry Potter series.

    Future Peter sure is dumb.

    I see Dead Lindermans.

I've got an internet video that I found of you! You used to be on the intewebs!

Nikki's new nickname is the "Ice Queen." How fitting.

I still don't like Nikki/Jessica/Tracy. I'm guessing they're going to give each personality a different power. Lame. The only people with multiple powers on the show should be Peter and Sylar - the Yin and Yang. Seems like the creators wanted to keep Ali Larter on the show, so they completely revamped her character without reason or explanation.

I am hoping the clock and Hiro scene is foreshadowing another Hiro / Sylar throwdown.

Hiro may find, yet again, another girlfriend this season. I liked that part of the story, for the most part, although the Mona Lisa is over-the-top.

Giving Mohinder and Ando powers (even in a flash forward) is absurd and insulting. After Mohinder has been anti-powers this whole time, he finds a cure, and then he randomly injects himself? I can't believe his dad didn't think of it. More dues ex machina ...

Peter is stuck in a random person. That's kind of cool. Does he still have access to all of his powers? How does that even work?

The Bennett family really needs to find a new place to live. How did Sylar locate Claire, anyway? Aren't they in hiding?

I liked the nod to Magneto. "He can control magnetic fields. We call him 'The German'."

About time we got some super-powered villians running around, although the show is treading heavily into comic-book goofiness. Movies can pull the effects off, because they have the budget for it.

I like the African guy. He had the best line of the night. "Do you know Britney Spears?"
More sybology with the world splitting in two.

Put Angela Petrelli under a Vader mask already. "Sylar ... I am your mother!" Lame, let down, and predictable moment. Why? It made no sense.

So overall, we moved forward, but I'm not really sure where this show is going any more. I'd give The Second Coming 4/5, just because I haven't seen the show in a while and it seems like they're trying to shake up the status quo. The Butterfly Effect gets a 3/5 from me. Not bad, but certainly not as good as it has been in the past. It seems like this show peaked right before the last episode in Season 1, and it's been treading water ever since. They get a chance to pick it up next week.

Couldn't agree more. However Smallville has the excuse of being confined to "Clark Kent before he became Superman" storytelling. It sucks, but it's reality (plus they have 0 budget and bad writers...).

Heroes simply does not know what it wants to be. I think they should of just ignored season 2 all together.

Have Hiro/Peter whoever, go back in time to stop the events of season two (which is why Adam should have succeeded in his quest) and retool the show, rather then continuing the schizophrenic story telling.

I just finally got to see the premiere, and it was great! great twists, the stroy-line is gettng crazy, theres a ton of crap going on...they got YEARS worth of subject matter here, all good...i just hope they distribute it well.

we need to understand, in shows and movies of this nature, nothing is better than character development, and telling the story of how great figures come to fruition. nothing will ever be like heroes season 1. but this is good stuff, none the less.

I agree. Exactly why I'm annoyed  The whole show feels like a dues ex machina. I also think that's why they waited to reveal the mothers powers. They had no idea what they needed them to be to advance the story.

I bet Hiro is Mommy Petreli's son too. Saving that one for the finale I bet.

I thought it was a good premiere and set it up so they have a ton of material to work with for future episodes.

Agreed the mom comment to Sylar was a bit ridiculous.

I thought the two episodes were fun. They were fast moving unlike the beginning of last season.

One thing I did not like was the fact that Peter is practically a god, so what do you do with him. Now they answered it. Have him practically believe he is a god and can fix everything, however messes everything up even more. I actually think that is a brilliant turn of events for that character.

As for Mohinder I can see that turn around as he is a guy who has been studying his father's work all this time and all of a sudden he has a chance to give himself super powers. I do not care how nerdy or holy you are, that is a pretty big temptation.

Im surprised to see so many negative opinions on the 2 episodes on Monday. I actually loved them, and am really curious to see where they go with all these villains. I thought those were the best 2 hours of Heroes they've done since the first season.

I guess, i thought they did a good job bringing back some of the suspense, and all the other good stuff that got me hooked on the show to begin with. I don't know where its going to go plotwise, nor do i care much. I turn it on for an hour each week, it entertains me, i enjoy it, and can get into it. Its all good for me. Sure, theres some things that bothered me about it. I thought the mohinder thing was a bit stupid, but who knows where thats heading, and i didn't like the fact that ali larter plays what is now her... 3rd different character in the series? Oh well.. just roll with it, see where it goes i guess...

All i know, is those two hours, blew me away compared to last years shows, which really were ruined due to the strike... but this year seems alot more promising to me... so im on board.

I have to disagree with the disappointment -- I thought the show displayed learning from the past mistakes of a lumbering, overarching story and has adopted a truer-to-format comic book feel.

Regarding Mohinder: there's a reason the mad-with-power-and-the-thrill-of-discovery scientist is an archetype: it works.

Love Hiro and Ando. The blending of the serious "Who will be the traitor -- if anyone?" storyline with comic paranoia is genius.

Oh, and the Sprint pitch was so giddily blatant!

I'm not saying it's a bad direction for the character. I'm saying it's lazy writing, and that's exactly what it is. Mohinder was anti-powers, wanted to find a cure, help people, and out of nowhere becomes a mad scientist without the slightest bit of motivation or setup. Actually, it's not just lazy writing, bad writing too.

Some people just have low standards.

Anyone else think everything Mohindar says is just rediculously stupid? You'd think a sci-fi show would get someone with a science background to proofread what the scientist says. the "i've isolated the formula, i just need to go to my lab, i have a centrifuge there!" line made me laugh out loud.
