Feel like I'm missing out on the conversation now but then I realise I put him on ignore for a reason. It's plain as day that he's not a Dolphins fan and only comes here to stir things up. He's always playing devils advocate and always moving the goalposts on whatever debate people try and have with him.

Hope he goes back under his bridge soon as his Jets suck as usual.

Also, Mac is the only one who had that rating on the road against the Jets, all the other ratings came when the Jets were on the road.

Mac has the best passer rating against the Jets this season at Met Life, followed by Tua.

    Mac 85.6
    Tua 77.5
    Herbert 65.4
    Mahomes 63.6
    Allen 62.7
    Hurts 59.5

He was never on it to be able to jump off.

So if Tua has a 100 PR in his next game against the Jets then what will be your excuse?

Last night JA failed to get a TD in OT on a horrible misread that would have won them the game. He also threw a horrible pick that gave the Eagles a chance at the go ahead TD (which they got). A pick just as bad as Tua’s pick-6 against the Jets.

There’s only 17 games in a season, and they all matter, so I get pumped over EVERY win.

Not to mention it was the Jets, whom I hate.
Also, a division and conference win - need those tiebreakers! Not sure how you can NOT enjoy such a win.

If the Bills had beaten the Jets and Pats (division games against lowly teams) they’d be in the lead of the AFCE. I would
imagine Stale would then just change his argument to something else as to why the Dolphins suck.

    Trolls gonna troll…

I try to stay pretty even minded and understand the grind of the season leads to the only thing that matters. Playoffs. If the Dolphins make the playoffs and lose their first game, the Jets regular season win a consolation prize to you?

We have fans who believe the team can always do better. And they're right; no level of success cannot be improved on (other than the Broncos game). Somebody's always going to fall short of perfection and IMO, it's okay to call that out as long as you acknowledge superior performance. If you've bet against us winning the Super Bowl since 1974, you're now 48 of 48, so being conservative with your praise is actually the smartest way to assess the team.

But when you have somebody like him who only has disrespect and never gives a reason why he's a fan, it is telling. He disappears after good games and even crows happily when #1 plays an average game. The previously-mentioned fans who believe we can always do better tend to say things like "We played well, but..." If Tua goes 28 for 40 with 3 TDs and 350 yards in a 17-point victory and you log in to the forum to post about three errant throws and two others that should have been picks, then you have an agenda.

If you're a fan - pragmatic or homer - you're going to be (a)happy to be 8-3 and (b)reasonably encouraged that after two decades of subpar and inconsistent play, we have a QB who is objectively and subjectively considered to be a top-5 QB. Trolls aren't fans. And critical fans are not trolls. You can recognize the tree by the fruit it bears.

LOL. So if Tua plays well in a loss, he sucks. If he plays average in a win, he sucks. Why haven't you given him any credit in the games when he plays well and we win?

What was the point that you started to believe Holland was going to actually make it to the end zone? For me, it was when the blocks were made at the 40 yard line.

The New York Jets woes deepened on Friday against the Miami Dolphins in a 34 - 13 loss. The Jets offense couldn’t get past misfield until well into the fourth quarter. The Jets defense played one of its worst games of the season. The Jets threw a Fail Mary pass, something nobody’s ever seen before at the NFL level. It was a new low for the season, and another season down the drain.

The loss to the Miami Dolphins brought the Jets’ record to 4-7 on the season. Their playoff hopes are basically gone, just waiting for mathematical certitude. They next take on the 5-6 first place Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The Falcons aren’t necessarily a more talented team than the Jets, but there may be no team in the NFL playing worse football right now than the Jets. Earlier in the season I would have liked our chances. Now, sheesh, it’s tough to predict a win when the offense can barely get past midfield.

How did the power rankings feel about this latest loss for the Jets? Let’s find out.

    Pro Football Network

    24) New York Jets (21)

In a development that should have shocked absolutely nobody, the Jets offense still looked horrific. While Zach Wilson is almost certainly one of the worst quarterback options in the NFL, Tim Boyle might be even worse.

We’re on Aaron Rodgers watch now, which still feels insane. However, without his arrival, Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh might be undergoing a departure by the end of the season, if not sooner.

    Sports Illustrated

    26. New York Jets (4-7)

Last week: loss vs. Miami, 34–13

    Next week: vs. Atlanta

As we head into the potential opening of Aaron Rodgers’s practice window, I have shifted my opinion on the matter. I feel like it does make sense for Rodgers to try and play this year, even if the season is lost. The Jets need some kind of momentum, not blind faith, going into next year. And if Rodgers looks every bit of 40, the Jets need to know that, too.

    ESPN

    28. New York Jets (4-7)

    Offense: 31

    Defense: 3

    Special teams: 27

The offensive ranking is an accurate reflection of a unit that is putting up historically bad numbers across the board. It has produced only 10 touchdowns in 11 games and ranks last in third-down conversions (24.1%) and red zone efficiency (28%) — both by a wide margin. The defense is good, but the ranking here is high, especially after allowing an average of 148 rushing yards over the past three games. The special teams has ranged from great to poor, depending on the week.

    USA Today

    27. Jets (27): We’re really not going to give QB4 Trevor Siemian his shot? Seriously?

Opinions about the Jets keep dropping with every dismal loss. They’re now ranked as low as 28th in the NFL, and frankly even that may be too high for this team.

With the obvious proviso that power rankings are stupid, unless they praise the Jets, in which case they’re awesome, what do you think? Where should the Jets rank in the NFL power rankings?

So you were calm, cool and collected last year at the end of the Ravens game, or not having a ball during the 70 burger? Please.

So, the playoffs are the “only thing that matters”? Hate to break it to you, but you have to win regular season games to get to the playoffs, and that’s why they should be celebrated.

Your last sentence is so ridiculous it doesn’t even rate a response.

Correct. The playoffs are the only thing that really matters. Championships are the only thing that matters. The Bills went 13-3 last year and got bounced by the Bengals. You think beating the Jets or Dolphins in the regular season was a consolation prize?

You can celebrate all you want, but ultimately it doesn't mean much unless it produces championships. Enjoy the ride, but stay reasonable.

    All sports have rivalries.

    The Celtics have/had the Lakers
    The Yankees have the Dodgers
The Dolphins have the rest of the AFC East.

It doesn’t matter whether or not your rival is a good team or a bad team. What matters in rivalries is whether or not you win.

For many years, the Patriots would dread playing the Dolphins…even in our bad days, we were that ONE team that could beat them.

In our past heydays, there were games in which the Jets always seemed to find a way to pull off and upset against us ie; Jumbo Elliott tackle eligible.

And let’s not even forget about the gunslinging days of Marino and Kelly…Shula vs Levy says.

When you defeat a rival, it should feel good for no other reason than bragging rights that you got their number.

Right about then, but it was just before that when I could see said blockers forming up at the 50 yard line. I remember screaming, "He's got blockers!" Surprised to see them there in perfect position to make the play.

    Yes.

But it doesn't make me puff out my chest and say this another evidence of how great the team is.

I LOVE beating the Stej. I hate them. I hate their fans. I hate their city. So I revel in beating them. It just didn't matter much to me personally, in an overall evaluation of the the team.

    Know what I mean?

IMO, we have one rival. If the result doesn't impact our place in the standings, I'm rooting for the Jests to lose to the Flats and Jills. I have a healthy respect for New England and Buffalo but absolutely zero respect for the Jests and their fans.

I didn't notice how far Garrett Wilson had run until I heard Holland's account of the play. He literally chased him from end zone to end zone. That earns very begrudging respect from me because I love hustle (which is why what Holland did on that play will always be special).
