Look at the Qb he’s played during that time, look at what he did against good qbs Herbert, Jackson, Allen, Mahomes, Dak, a titan rookie who scored 15 in the last three mins and lost us the division and home field He didn’t want to be here from the get why anyone sticks up for him is beyond me Can you imaging getting a job as def coordinator and then tell the world you’re not gonna watch film on your guys to know what they do well.? He played us better than he played opponents, “ **** him and the Diaz brothers, I never trusted him, for all I know he had my friend manny killed “
Homers before Fangio got fired, "everything is fine, it takes a couple of seasons for him to implement his system". Homers after he's fired "he sucks, defense was terrible, players hated him, good riddance. But don't worry, everything is fine ,we are going to get a great coach who will be the real deal this time. Doesn’t matter if we change coaches every season Grier is always right!"
Only a sucker could not of read between the lines In this case McDaniel is indeed a sucker He fell for the hype and didn’t take into account many variables.
For real. It's crazy how quickly people turn. Dolphin fans were ecstatic he was named DC like the next coming of Shula, now all of a sudden he sucks? They better bring someone in who has some experience, because a promotion within on a first time DC isn't the answer.
From this list, Evero would be my top choice… https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...tes-to-replace-veteran-defensive-coordinator/
I don't wish him gone but I wouldn't cry if he left either. I don't believe he has what it takes to compete for the crown in a stacked AFC.
We must have been watching different defences all season then. Every playoff team they faced the QB put up over a 100 passer rating, that’s simply not good enough. It’s hard to win games when the other team is passing that efficiently.
Same argument can made about Tua and McDaniel offence. You can't have it both ways. Head coach should be gone also then. They choked against Titans and Ravens but the offence did nothing at all. The defence played good enough to beat the Bills, and kept in game against chiefs with how many starters missing?U heard waddle say it on the sidelines to Hill. But in saying that I thought this dude was over rated because he didn't lead any defence to a superbowl.
Of course most people were happy about the Fangio hire. He's been a really good DC for a long time. Now that some things are coming to light, some of those same people aren't so happy with the hire. Changing one's opinion when given more facts is what smart people do. You wouldn't know anything about that now would you?
At the time we all loved the Fangio hire. But just like what happened with Flores things come out that can change your opinion. Many fans myself included were pissed off when Flores was fired but then the truth comes out. A lot of things go on behind the scenes nobody knows about.
Based on his track record I thought he was a good hire. If you lose the players, as some have intimated, then that's never a recipe to get to having a cohesive unit. Changing coaches every year is also not cohesive. McD is finding out that being a Head Coach has way more facets to it then just calling plays.
Yep. I mean, no one could really do their best with the amount of injuries the Dolphins had, but it does seem as if the players didn’t really like/respect Fangio. That’s not necessarily a knock on Fangio, but if it wasn’t going to work then when keep trying to put a square peg into a round hole. Saying that, continuity is a key piece to having a SB caliber team. Hopefully McD has learned from this and is able to do better on his next hire. He’s humble enough, or so it seems, to change his methods and thinking of the situation calls for it. Hopefully everything from his hiring to play calling keeps pointing up.
Lmao. The total and complete lack or awareness and extreme projection would be funny if your posts were funny.
The Dolphins had Vic Fangio as their defensive coordinator for just one season, as Fangio and Miami mutually agreed to part ways late last month. Shortly after that, Fangio was hired to be the Eagles’ defensive coordinator for 2024. Fangio had served as a consultant with Philadelphia in 2022. What happened to lead to Fangio’s departure? McDaniel explained during his press conference at the scouting combine in Indianapolis this week. “I’d be lying if I said I was expecting that during the season at all. And I think Vic would feel similarly,” McDaniel said. “What happened was basically, I think it’s important when the season ends for you to remove emotion and evaluate and have very, very good conversations with all people that you’re depending on. With Vic and I, we had extensive conversations that was very healthy, and ultimately when push came to shove, it seemed like we both had the opportunity ... it’d be best for both parties involved to literally mutually part. “So, it wasn’t anticipated. It was something that I think was a factor of great communication between him and I, where we feel like we’re all best served if we go a different direction, which is something that we had mutual belief and excited for both parties moving forward.” The Dolphins finished No. 10 in yards allowed and No. 22 in points allowed in 2023. They have since hired Anthony Weaver to be their defensive coordinator for the coming season.
