Anyone getting this? It came out a few hours ago on Wiiware (and coming soon on XBLA and PSN I think). Looks like old school (pre over done) Megaman.
I refuse on principle to buy it. They left the NES stuff behind with 7, 8, and Rockman & Forte. I'm not going to support a regression for the sake of cashing in on the retro craze. If it looked and played like 8, I'd shell out. In its current form, no. Besides, I'm still annoyed they decided to make MM9 instead of ZX3. Both ZX games are in my top five all-time MM games. I do give them credit for the "box" art, though.
you're just in a completely different league of gaming. you actually have a top 5 megaman list? gotta give props where they're due.
Thanks for the heads-up Mor. I hadn't heard about this, but now that I have, as soon as I get home from work, I'm going to get it! If this game is going back to the roots, a la Mega Man 2 (far and away the best game in the history of the franchise), it CAN'T be bad!
Got it last night... I have yet to beat any level. Looks like they used the classoc Megaman engine for graphics, controls, and all. I like it a lot. It's hard like old school games. I still don't know which 'man' to fight first.
Got it installed last night (a tad bit more difficult to do than I had anticipated...), and it lives up to the hype, for me. CLASSIC EVERYTHING, baby! Did you guys take a look at the list of challenges? Some of them are crazy! Beat the whole game without taking ANY damage? Beat the game without missing with the Buster? Holy christ!
I picked it up on PSN today and am very impressed. It plays just like Megaman 2 which is awesome for me as that is my all-time favorite game. For $10 its well worth my money...they could've charged $30 and I probably still would've bought it. I'd gladly pay $50 if I could get it in that box/NES cartridge jewel case they made as a promotional tool.
