There was a couple posts about...I think one of them is Buddy's son, but I can't remember what all they said. I think one of the Ryans is going to the Jets?? :confused2:

Alright, Rob Ryan and Rex Ryan are both Buddy Ryan's sons.

Rob Ryan just got fired by the Raiders

Rex Ryan just got fired by the Ravens.

Rob Ryan is rumored to be heading to the Jets, there is no word on Rex Ryan's future employer.

As long as Frank Gansz jr is part of the deal then "sure".

There is a big difference between the Ravens personnel and our Personnel though, Ed Reed vs Jason Allen?

McAlister and Rolle vs Will Allen and Andre Goodman?

Take into account that Rolle and CMac were in and out of the lineup all year. They had an above average defense with Derrick Martin and Corey Ivy starting at CB, they also did not have Trevor Pryce most of the year.

Plus, the 46 defense is one of the hardest to defend against, and we have the personel to run it. You can run either the 4-3 or the 3-4 as your base D. (Ravens tend to be better when they use the 4-3 case in point last year) But it is an interchangeable defense.

    Really ChambersWI?

I am a big fan of the 46 defense, it requires athletic and aggressive Lb's and Dlineman, we have Joey Porter..and.....err...maybe Jason Allen could play "Lb" (the old Todd Bell Dave Duerson position) but other then those two, I don't see it happening for us with our roster.

The 46 is nothing more than another front in this league. Every package has it and every coordinator refers to it as "Bear". The key to the 46 was to negate the effectiveness of the TE. When you are in the front you become very limited in coverage techniques. It really comes down to a choice of Cover 1, 2, or 3. At no point can you fully flood zones as this is an eight man front.

The defense must be able to flood zones and match up in man. Otherwise the NFL quarterback will pick and choose based upon his presnap reads. The top 10 quarterbacks in this league will slice and dice any defense that chooses to limit it's coverage without the talent to execute. Cover 3 is simply an extension of Cover 1. Personally, I believe Cover 2 is the very foundation of zone coverage. Once a team gets good at executing this coverage, other coverage packages become easy to execute. The other zone packages are being run when you see the 43 DE dropping into the hook zones or flats while a LB rushes.

Every team you saw do well against the Patriots declared war on Tom Brady. The Ravens, Eagles, and Giants never gave him the same coverage twice. When they did, they were burned. This is the thing I miss most about Nick Saban. He FEARED passing teams so he prepared for passing teams. I think it's the same line of thought that Bill Bellichek operates under. Most people that watch a Patriots/Colts game watch the QBs. I'm watching the secondary because that is where the wizardry is or is not happening. I can watch Brady/Manning slice up a static defense the following week.
