not first ballot, but should get there eventually. He does have a lot going for him though, consistently great, great leader, good community guy, ect.

He is borderline right now, I think JT will be a first ballot HOF.

As much as I would like him to be, no. At least, not first ballot.

yeah theres an awful lot of guys right now that arent in the hall and probably should be. it doesnt make sense why they arent in. unfortunately i think zach will be one of those guys that we'll be sitting here talking about several years down the road going.... why isnt zach in yet???

He has a lot of ints for a MLB.

His problem with getting into the hall is that he'll be compared with Ray Lewis.

Ray Lewis has a superbowl ring and Ray made far more highlight reel hits that Zach did.

Personally I'd rather have Zach on my team as he was a steadier and more reliable player in addition to being a good person off the field for his entire career but the HOF voters seem to be more impressed by-
    1) Superbowl rings; and
    2) Highlight reel stuff than by guys who do their job efficiently and without a huge amount of fuss and bother. Many HOF voters say that they put a higher premium on quality than quantity.

It reminds me a lot of Dick Butkus and Nick Buonconti. Dick made the hoghlight reels and was a first ballot HOFer. Nick was more productive over his career but took 20 years to get into the HOF because he was a steady reliable type not a flashy type. Plus I think Nick Buonconti doesn't even make it into the HOF without his 2 superbowl rings.

In the end, I sense that Zach does not make the Hall of Fame:(
Of Zach's contemparies, Ray Lewis is a definite, and Tedy Bruschi likely gets in for being the defensive leader of a minimum three-time champion. Also Loundon Fletcher might have have a better shot of getting in also since he has a ring.
Also, the case of Chris Spielman will be one to watch. He also being an overachieving, smart, give everything on the field middle linebacker, who wore #54. If Spielman does not get in the Hall of Fame, then Zach's chances to get in are bad.
Also since Randy Gradishar is not in, he was only the best 3-4 inside backer ever, and was on a great defense, the late 1970's Denver Orange Chrush, that does not help Zach's case either.

    Live from the Internet.
Thats true...But Zach also has 188 more career tackles than Lewis. Zach was never involved in ANY off-field convictions.
Lewis has 9.5 more career sacks then Zach and 8 more picks. He has 12 defended 12 more passes than Zach (on paper) Ray Lewis has recorded a safety and two TDs. Zach has no safety, but 4 touchdowns.
As MLB Zach is Better than Lewis. Because MLB's main priority is to stop the run. WHich Zach has been more productive in. As an OVERALL stats, Lewis beats Zach out. The only thing Zach beats Lewis out is total tackles and touchdowns (and kickoff return yardate, haha. Zach has 32 KR yards )
The fact that Lewis has a ring, dosen't help Zach a single bit.
But overall, i think Zach should be able to get in.

Zach Thomas is definitely not first ballot, and certainly isn't a shoe in HOF'er.

Jason Taylor has a better chance.

I think he and JT are both deserving, but the rather average play of the team over their tenure is going to hurt them in terms of being "first ballot." I think Zach's numbers alone are very comparable if not better than Ray Lewis and Urlachers.

a ring would have sealed it for Zach. I'm not sure on this one.

He's a definite inductee into the Dolphins ring of honor but likely won't make the HOF because that's typically reserved for the very best player at a given position during a given era. I think the consensus is that Ray Lewis fills that role, and being that Zach doesn't have a ring either, it's not looking that good.

He's a HOF in my homer book, though! One of my favorites of all time.

I don't think Zach gets in. Hopefully JT, but he maybe will have to wait a while.

Stats dont tell the whole story. Yes his stats may be comparable. Zach is solid and consistant but he isn't and never has been feared. He is undersized and sometimes runners bounce of him. He is also a liability in coverage. Would I want him on my team, HELL YES. Hall of fame not so sure about that.
