It does include re-releases. Star Wars added over 100 mill on its last re-release Even if Batman catches Titanic (it won't) My prediction is that Titanic gets re-released in 2012 which is the 100 year anniversary (I think) of the boat sinking
There were plans to re-release the two SW trilogies in 3D & IMAX-3D though I haven't heard much about the project since then. That could be enough to push another 100 mil for Star Wars. But honestly, the true measure of a movie's success should be in tickets sold or an inflation-adjusted value.
Easy $$$$$$$$$$$$$ the movie was released in 97 so it would be 15 years All the teeny boppers are in there 30's. some will have kids to bring and also to capitalize on the 100 year thing Star Wars ET Passion of the Christ LOTR 2 towers Lion King LOTR fellowship Star war episode II return of the jedi empire strikes back All these flicks were re-released
Yes and no how many options for entertainment was there 70 years ago or even 10 years ago some people prefer to watch a movie in their surround system that was not around 10 years ago how many people down load movies to the net to take away more sales
Well, I was referring to it in my stricter definition of a movie's production in the theaters, disregarding outside options like DVD's, etc. There are cases such as Austin Powers where it was considered a mixed performance at the box office though sold very well in home video sectors. What I was referring to was the former.
Somebody just called into LeBatard and said that he had "inside" knowledge about the next villain/s in the next Batman installment. he seemed pretty credible. The guy said that the Black Mask and the Riddler would be the villains.
I think I'm more concerned about who they are getting to write and direct the next one more than I am the villan at this point. If Nolan comes back I'll trust whatever he wants to do. Thanks for the info though Section.

Well, I agree with him about the "screw DC" part. You know you have problems when a single movie handles your property better than any creative team you've ever had on the comic.
I can't tell if he is joking or being serious. Either way, **** Ironman and RDJ. You don't have to be able to pick up on any of the themes or symbolism in order to enjoy the movie.
If Nolan comes back he could make Barney the ****ing Dinosaur the villain and it would be compelling.
not much new news but the rumors sounding out to be true for Depp/Riddler and Hoffman/Penquin according to Michael Caine. Splash Page ‘DARK KNIGHT’ EXCLUSIVE: Michael Caine Says Johnny Depp Is The Riddler, Philip Seymour Hoffman Is The Penguin
The Dark Knight will be re-released in January. The Dark Knight Heading Back to Theaters in January! FirstShowing.net
i hate depp.......i like a few of his older movies but you never know btw just downloaded the dark knight, dvd screener quality, pretty f'ing good layover till i wait for dvd
not really liking that Batman cover some other covers http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/the-dark-knight.html
Rumor that they could start shooting the next film as early as the beginning of next year. IGN: Batman 3 Starting Next Year?
I just saw TDK. I strategize about the timing of when I see movies because I can't stand idiotic idle chatter. That's only for the movies that I'm really dying to see. If it's not urgent I'll just wait for the DVD. Anyway, what a freaking awesome movie. Bale is great, but Heath Ledger is just unbelievable. What a shame that the world has lost that much talent. I wonder why they killed off Two Face. They could have developed him some more, IMO. I really can't wait to see how Nolan does Catwoman.
I remember you saying you might wait til DVD to watch it. Glad you finally saw it and enjoyed it though. Someone on a movie review site I go to a lot had a good suggestion. They should rename the best actor Oscar 'the Ledger' and just give it to Robert Downey Jr. for Iron Man.
Yeah, I just couldn't stand waiting any longer. Plus, I was concerned I unintentionally might read another spoiler. On IMDB's JLA board someone mentioned how Rachel dies. Thanks a lot. I knew who it was going to be between her and Harvey Dent. I was a DC, not a Marvel, kid so I think that I'll wait for Iron Man on DVD. Could he really be better than Ledger? That would be something.
He's not. Nor is the movie better. The Dark Knight has its flaws, but Ledger puts in an incredible role as the Joker. Downey plays Starks so well because its not far from the role Downey plays in real life.
I don't think he was better than Ledger. But a lot of people seem to have a weird enfatuation with Downey Jr. So renaming the Oscar the Ledger and giving it to Downey Jr. might satisfy everyone.
BTW, as sacriligeous as it might sound to say anything negative about Bale, he looked a little aged to me.
