I'm not as positive about this offseason as you. If Tua goes down it's over. And even with Tua healthy I don't think we're necessarily better. Vegas is expecting us to win between 6.5 and 7.5 games right now. Last year it was 10 expected wins prior to season begin. So I think the general view is we got worse. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Vegas goes where the money goes. The money shifted because the national media jumped on a narrative of an offseason that IMO wasn't as bad as portrayed. They're probably just as wrong this season as last. I think a lot of internal distractions have been removed. I also think we have a top-5 edge unit and possibly a top-5 front seven if we get push from the DL. Tua is the key to success and more specifically, keeping him on the field. I'm worried about CB, but I have faith in the back end. I think Weaver's second year will see a significant improvement, even missing Ramsey and Holland. I'm less worried about the OL and tight end than I should be. I have faith our skill players will bounce back in a big way. My biggest concerns are Tua's availability and McDaniel's decision making.
The sad part is after year 4 this team is no.closer to a playoff win than year 1. Not sure what the point of this season is. McDaniel and Grier needed to be fired and we could start are rebuild over. I feel this just puts us behind a year as I expect they both will be fired soon enough.
Well of course if Tua goes down sure I just like the leadership right of Chubb Jp Sieler Jordyn and Tua, I think they’re finally fed up like he said. front 7 is nice we just literally added Chubb Austin Jackson and Jp to the roster, I think of them As free agent signings as all three hardly played The linebacking unit 1-4. is the best I’ve seen since being a fan safety unit us exponentially better then those scrubs that played last year and yes holland was a scrub and Poyer don’t even get me started Tyler hunter played a lot of games. Oline is better more talented, you do realize we played with four backups on the line most of the year. Tua is a practical learner and he now has to step up as a leader, he said he’s fed up so he’s got to back that up. special teams is gonna be better. weaver is a very good def coordinator his scheme is sound as hell running back unit is very talented, wright is about to blow up. Achane only getting more diverse dline is better, wont have to see as much if Benito jones anymore. We are a more talented team then last year minkak roaming around with a chip. we’re better man, the only thing that can hold us back is Tua getting injured or McDaniel cannot unite this team if we here the same **** as I saw at 11 practices last year then we’re fooked either way
I think it's really simple. If Tua plays 17 games they are competing for the division and going to the playoffs. I don't really think serious people expect the Dolphins to go 5-12 if Tua plays every game. There's just no way. It's not happening. He's too good. Alot of these projections and predictions are people banking, and in some cases praying on Tua missing a handful of games again.
I think the TE room is a push. It wouldn't surprise me one bit, if Waller has better numbers in 2025 in the Miami offense than Smith does in the Pitts offense. I don't think he'll replicate Smith's numbers from last year but I don't Smith would have either as I don't think the TE position will get as many targets this year.
7.5 is best estimate right now.. obviously different sites have different odds, but see the attached. Anyway, I hope I'm wrong, but I'm just not seeing us taking that next step to being a solid playoff team. We had one of the most explosive offenses a few years ago. Now what?
