This Weaver defense is atrocious. It's time to play for some draft picks.

Why did McD burn that final timeout? Absolutely mind blowing. At least wait until the kicking team is set and then call it to ice the kicker. Am I missing something obvious here?

I'm happy if it means that the holy trinity are gone, but we all know it won't.

It all starts with Grier. Until he is gone this is all futile. He is the architect of failure.

I went to the game.. it was a fun game to go to overall.. but no one in the stadium was shocked at how it ended.. theyre numb to the dolphins experience

the offense that was once the most explosive/exciting, has become this one read, bubble screen offense. Its lethargic.. i dont recall any passing plays over 20 air yards..

Less than two pages of comments for the entire game- this forum has seen better days. I forgot the game was on so I only saw the highlights, and at least we were winning with a minute left. We are better than our record with a string of losing close games, but this certainly isn't a playoff team either.

I feel bad for Achane...he's a fantastic talent that's being wasted in Miami.

Im confused about the very last int Tua threw last night.

i want to go back to last year, where Jayden Daniels stepped into a throw from the 35 yard line and threw a hail mary bomb for the win against the Bears.

So yesterday, we are at the 35 yard line. With 5 seconds remaining, we had no shot at setting up a quick throw on the sidelines for a field goal attempt.

so we throw a little 3 yard pass to for the INT?

why didnt they spread the receivers out and had Tua throw a hail mary from the 35? Just the oddest final play.

They obviously had a desperation lateral play setup. Suggesting a hail Mary at that yard line is just weird for any team.

Jayden Daniels was able to heave it there from that line.

Tua needs to throw that ball to the end zone. There have been more hail marys converted than a desperation lateral play in the history of the NFL. That is facts. Hell, just Aaron Rodgers alone has 4 of them in the last ten years , one of them last year at age 40 for the Jets went 52 air yards.

a young guy like Tua should be able to get 60+ yards, even if its a tip drill after traveling 60 airyards.

Titans after a 1-5 start to the season , have fired their HC. Come on Ross do the same.

I don't think Tua had the arm to get it to the end zone from the 35. That's a hell of a throw for even someone like Josh Allen to make.

Bro, the pass landed 7 yards short and deflected into the end zone for an absolute miracle play.

How far does the ball get there if tua had a running start and throw it from the 35?

Do you think he can get the ball to the 10 yard line? Ill take that and instruct the receivers to attempt a volley drill.

a lateral drill nonsense is probably at the bottom of the list in probability that it works, in the history of college and professional football.

Ive seen more hail mary conversions than the lateral nonsense. Hell ive seen more int’s/scores the other way when attempting the lateral drill. I can just think of one off the top of my head, patriots/raiders.

we are trying to win, then that ball needs go UP and far. You send out your fastest receivers and running backs to the end zone or at least the 10 yard line.

Thats why you gave Tua 250 million, because he has all the tools needed to make throws like Allen, Mahomes, Herbert. Not because he can throw a hell of a checkdown and average 4 air yards a pass.

I think the bolded part is very debatable at this point, and I'm far from an Allen, Mahomes, or Herbert Stan. Those guys are not my concern. Whoever is the quarterback of this team is who I'll support. Also, I don't disagree with you. I think they should have just tried to heave the ball down the field. If you're a quarterback in the NFL making 250 millions dollars, you should be able to throw a ball 65 yards. I once watched a 35 year old Boomer Esiason throw a ball 60+ yards while he was playing for the Arizona Cardinals back in 1995 (I was at the game). That being said, the game was out of reach at that point. We were done. Five seconds left, you're asking for a prayer to be answered, a miracle, and it wasn't gonna happen either way.
I can't put this game OR last weeks game on Tua. Not when the Anthony Weaver regime is doing what it's doing. This is by far the WORST defense I have ever seen here, since becoming a fan of this team. We probably have the worst defense in the league, and that's saying something considering how awful things are in Dallas. Not only were we getting smoked through the air to start the season. NOW, we're getting gashed in the run game as well. Our front four, both starting and rotationally, on paper, was supposed to be our strength. Seiler has given us nothing, Chop hasn't done anything, Chubb sucks, and Phillips is missing tackles left and right. Kenneth Grant is pretty much graded as the worst interior lineman in the league right now who's getting playing time. Jonah, on the other side of the ball, is right behind him. I'll chalk it up to growing pains for him, Jonah, and even Chop because they're all still so young, but it isn't looking good for them.
I think we need to rebuild and it's going to have to start with a new leader at the quarterback position. Will we do that? Probably not. Fernando Mendoza will end up a Jet and haunt us for the next fifteen years. Ross, Grier, and McDaniel will probably blame the defense, fire Weaver, and sell the fanbase on a re-tool on defense for next season while continuing to ignore the offensive line sieve that we currently put out there weekly. I'm so frustrated and I told myself I wasn't going to get to that point this year with this team. It's probably time for me to see myself out. Basketball is starting and the team I follow for that sport is even more frustrating than this team.
