The steelers were just too fast and too physical for us. Honestly, we have overachieved and caught some lucky breaks along the way ever since the beating we got from the Browns. Talent for talent we cant match up against the Steelers and the Steelers are not contenders. we still have a few more games to continue building and finish strong.
Well, give Ewers a few games to get experience and some evaluation? Improve draft position if nothing else.
The only reason he might be around next year is that contract. But really, you won't win squat with him at this point so rip the bandaid off. Figure something out. The Broncos did with that horrific Wilson contract.
I just don't believe if he is here McDaniel will pull the plug on him. He is the one that went to bat for him to get paid.
Tua is like a mid grade, 3rd string QB. Aside from all the picks he has thrown this year, if you add in all tie passes that should have been picks…..oh man.
Thought about staying up for the game, good thing I didn’t. It’s going to be hard to win anything with this version of Tua…
Once the Steelers scored their 3rd touchdown, I hit the record button and turned off the game. No sense in staying up late and watching the Dolphins getting their butts kicked. Based on what I did see though... The Dolphins played well in the first half. It was a pure defensive battle. Going into the half down 7-3 was nothing to be ashamed of. That's where it seemed to wheels to the train fell off. The Steelers made halftime adjustments and the Dolphins remained in the locker room. I can't get too upset with the defense, even with the points Pittsburgh put on the board. They were on the field way too much. The offense just couldn't get anything going and the Steelers just wore us down. I'll watch the rest of the game at some point today and see just how bad it really was.
I followed it, but didn't watch. Tua was his ever so predicated cold weather self. It's not a shock to me that he struggled. Anyone that thought otherwise about us pulling this off was a bit overconfident based off the previous streak we had going in. I just didn't see it happening. I'll give props to our MVP Achane for gutting it out. Overall, I thought the defense held up until the offense quit. That seems to be how it goes with us. The D fights, but runs out of gas once the offense proves to be useless. I think that falls on Tua. Can't believe I'm saying this...But I think I miss Jacoby Brissett at this point.
So sick of his sliding before the first down marker and his weak *** arm. Never going to beat good teams with his lack of talent.Especially with Allen and now Maye in this division. I don't care who they sign I can't stand to look at him smiling again after a weak duck of int.
I didn't catch the game, but I saw his stat lines were pretty good. You fine folks seem to say differently; I'll watch highlights now.
At this point there's no reason to play Tua again for the rest of the season. Put him on the practice squad or on IR for suspicion of concussion. Maybe he does the right thing and retires. Play one of the other guys and see if Wilson has a Sam Darnold type turn-around in him or maybe Ewers just needs a chance with the first team to blossom. Find out if the team rallies around either one of them. Either way, nothing will be accomplished by playing Tua, he's been too limited right from day one. He was literally wearing a hospital gown when he was drafted. Begin the process of finding the next franchise QB, Tua isn't it.
I thought we'd win purely off the run game, solid D, and occasional play action passes. Tua did look very off and his movement while scrambling kind of shocked me. He has to be hurt, right? His body just doesn't move naturally anymore, he can't seem to turn at all. It affects him in the pocket and it's what's likely throwing his accuracy off as well. Maybe a hip or back injury? It just doesn't make sense to me. Rodgers was the more mobile QB last night.
