I don't think any team would be that stupid but you never know. Of course I think the trade would be us giving a team a draft pick if it happended.
No one is going to trade for Tua. He’ll be released post June 1st, the Dolphins will bite the bullet on his contract and move on from there.
That extension really ****ed our *** with no lube. No Qb and no money for the new coach. We should be the favorites for the number 1 pick in 2027
The people who scapegoated Tua aren't here anymore. I highly doubt Ross is signing up for a 5+ year rebuild. I'm interested in what the new GM has to say and who the new coach is. If it's a guy like Bob Saleh who will build an elite defense right away, is he going to want to try and develop a young quarterback? Probably not. Just keep Tua you're already paying him. If it's a no name guy like Jeff Hafley then the rebuild is obviously on. Just cut Tua and just play irrelevant, non-competitive football for the next three years.
No money for the new coach? What are you talking about they can pay whatever they want. Why are they going to be so bad without Tua though?
Maybe he meant no cap space for the new coach to bring in some players? Nobody is paying half Tua's salary. But - especially in such a weak QB draft - someone might pay in the 5-10 million range. That helps a little bit more than just cutting him. I still think he'd be a good fit for a team like the Vikings who have a low salary contract QB who needs some pressure. He could also be an option for the Chiefs to tread water until Mahomes returns.
Man, what can I say without getting my post deleted? You are a very....very special person. I'm here for you. Seriously, I care.
Just ignore me. You're a single man in your late 50's, maybe just be a little mature and stop harassing me.
I think you're dead on- try to trade him and if there are no buyers out there, keep him as QB1/QB2 since you're paying him either way. Besides the actual roster spot, there's little incentive to cut him.
One of my buddies is a Steelers fan I am making him panic by telling him the inside information is the Steelers are wanting to hire McDaniel, and he wants to bring Tua with him, I know I am cruel, but that is what he gets for being a Steelers fan.
I assume once the head coach gets hired there will be a press conference. I'm gonna guess they will give the political "we're going to evaluate everyone on the team" line. McDaniel did all but everything to try and ruin Tua and his trade value. If I was the new GM, I would say Tua is or will be competing for the starting quarterback job of the Miami Dolphins.
Well, one good thing about benching a QB1 for a short period of time is that they really get to think about how much they want this. Next season, we could see a much thinner, much more determined Tua that plays like the kid we once knew. And I agree with you, if we see the fire again then by all means, let the kid start. On the other hand, the best player should start regardless. I would love if he won the position back though because that solves so many headaches this team can't afford to have.
Simple. They have no money because of his bad contract. With or without him we will have a top 5 pick barring some miracle draft. And Tua is done dude admitt it. He is afraid to get hit and slid on numerous occasions before the first down marker in critical situations. His arm is weak and has the mobility of a sloth. Tua is the reason Harbaugh and any other veteran coach didn't give us a second thought about coming here. You want to keep him fine doesn't matter either way.Next year will be a long season.
What? I am??? Really?? Woooo!!!! Well, I love my wife. God help me I love her, but sometimes, just sometimes, I wish I was single....just for a like a week or so. I'll try to take your good advice, but just know I'm here for you, man. Seriously. I really dig you.
