Miami has agreed to terms with receiver Tutu Atwell and cornerback Marco Wilson, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Atwell, 26, was a second-round pick in the 2021 draft, spending his first five seasons with the Rams. He was on the field for 10 games in 2025, catching just six passes for 192 yards with one touchdown. He’s appeared in 64 games with 27 starts in his career, recording 105 catches for 1,535 yards with five TDs. Wilson, 27, appeared in four games for the Bengals last season. A fourth-round pick in 2021, Wilson has totaled 20 passes defensed with three interceptions in his 64 career games.
Atwell is a small speedy receiver. Doesn't fit what we said we were looking for (big guys, big catch radius) but we probably got him to stretch the field and let Waddle work more underneath. He didn't play much last year; he got hurt mid-season and didn't make it back in the rotation during the Ram's playoff run. He's never had a huge breakout year either; he puts me in the Ginn Jr mindset. I didn't research Wilson.
I like Atwell. Glad we signed him. He was one of the guys I liked this off-season. No... He's not going to catch 100 passes for us. He probably won't even start. But...I like what he offers on the field. He's fast, and he can catch the football. It's too bad he's limited in stature, but maybe he finds a home here. I actually remember his dad who played college in the Big 10 for Minnesota. Same type of receiver, but never made it in the NFL. Atwell Jr is one bad season away from being out of the league. He'll play with urgency in Miami. I like his chances to make the team. We also signed Jalen Tolbert. He's got some experience too with Dallas. 30 starts, 2024 was his best year. 6'1 195. He's a sleeper signing. I'm actually loving the off-season moves for some reason. We're getting guys with experience for reasonable deals to help shape this roster. Perfect age range as well. Some of these additions are going to hit.
