Was playing a game and was driving to the hoop with Ray Allen and he did the exact same under the hoop layup he did in the NBA Finals. It was cool stuff.
Better than Live? I think the last Basketball game I bought was Double Dribble, but I thought the Live demo was pretty good.
yes its better than nba lice. dont waste your time playin the ea product. when it comes to a true basketball sim that plays like an actual basketball game, get nba2k... no comparison really imo.
In terms of next-gen coming from an EA Sports fan boy, NBA 2k7 is the best sports game I've ever played. NBA 2k8 was basically NBA 2k7 with updated rosters, so it disappointed the hell out of me although it was still solid. EA Sports announced so many new features for Live 09 that it pushed 2k Sports to its limits, and they did a hell of a job adding new things (all over the place) to NBA 2k9. It's got the potential to be the game of the year, IMO. Only time will tell. It's remarkable, really. As for Live, well, 07 sucks.. 08 sucked.. 09 is actually pretty decent. Many, many steps behind NBA 2k9, though. I'm loving absolutely everything about it. The AI is amazing, too. The way they play the passing lanes is jaw dropping, especially when you play the post in and out. I've noticed the difference between trying to score against Bruce Bowen and say, Gilbert Arenas......that's pretty cool. The computer is finally going to the go-to guys more than often, especially big men. I couldn't stop Tim Duncan, so they kept throwing the ball into the post - it was a pain, yet glad to see that the AI is so responsive. They also know when to expose the mismatches. It's just impressive as hell, man.
had a lot of fun with it today. will probably get the game next week (heard about toys r us having a buy 2 get one free on sunday.)
Still can't believe they haven't fixed the bricks from point blank range issue. I mean, there are more misses on layups and shots taken within 9 feet than a kindergarten game. But it's still good gameplay beyond that issue. IGn says it's been fixed, but when I have a better 3pt FG% than in the paint (45% to less than 25%), something's wrong. Everyone on the court is still grimacing and the faces are still not quite as accurate as I hoped but still an improvement. I remember Live 08's faces looked a lot better than 2k's. Gamespot did an article on this: http://www.gamespot.com/features/6181226/index.html. If only we could combine 2k's gameplay with 08's playermodels.
