Humm, that should make Parcells happy with Cam, he wasn't the most liked guy while coaching and he finally got it right, but his first year was 3-12-1...that would have had him burned at the stalks here in Miami at the time. The TE on Tampa, likes and respect P. but didn't seem to thrill to want to play for him again.

But the players respect Coughlin, if the players on your team don't respect you then you aren't going to win many games no matter how much talent you have.

You make a couple of very valid and legitimate points but I wonder if keeping Cam would actually be a stability move. After all, this team is largely devoid of talent and likely to be heading for its next abysmal record. Wouldn't we have the exact same discussion again? And wouldn't the "fire Cam!" lobby have even more ammunition? Wouldn't there be even more pressure on Parcells to cane Cam if he posted another bad record - even if that record was to be expected? A new headcoach would have the advantage to make a 3-13 season seem like an improvement, thus getting the time any HC needs to turn this mess around? I doubt Cam would have that time even if he was retained. People would be screaming for his head week after week after week. Failed on 4th down? Fire Cam! Didn't go for it on 4th down? Out with him! Made the 4th down? What a lunatic call!

That's nto exactly a statement you can back up.. you and I know know the inner workings of what's going on within the team's walls, Cam definitely knows more that us, because our O, looked more like a O this year than last..and I'm sure once they got all the players they wanted in, it would become a monster...Brown's numbers tell me we were going in the right direction.

Yep, and in the end, that is what probably sends him packing . . . .but the changing of offensive systems JUST hasn't worked . . . this would be an opportunity to take a different path and keep the offensive system . . . but yea I could definitely see the "call for Cam's head" riots.

    Back in Miami

Stability is only 1 component of many for success.

Stability is a positive only if that stability is quality.
If a staff is bad then you are going to get consistent rubbish from it.

There lies the weakness with this "we need to stay the course for the sake of stability" argument.

Personally, if they fire Cam now, i think it stinks. If they were to fire him half way through the season I could except that, although I would not be pleased. IMO the whole point of keeping him was, so he could analsye andunderstand what was needed to run his team next year.

If he goes then we will be starting all over again, for the third time in four years. it isn't any wonder this Franchise is a league joke. And before anybody has a pop, I never wanted Cam in the first place.

I know Bill Parcells will want to do his own thing, with his own men around him, but I dont know about you guys, i dont like all this big Dallas influence that is happening to the team already. **** are we going to start Romo and Owens next year or what--Is jerry Jones gonna retire down here and take over from Wayne. Are we going to be called the Dallas Dolphins :huh1:

We finally have started to bring in some young talent thru the draft, and the offense looked like something credible early on.

The whole point is . . . we have decided AGAINST stability for what . . . 7 years now? How many OC's did Chambers go thru . . . I think it was 7 in 7 years . . . obviously this search for the One HIT wonder to turn everything around in 1 year is not successful . . . lets atleast TRY the stability method, I mean this "song" and "dance" coaching carosel is really pathetic to go thru every year.

I am so tired of hearing about stability, it is such a flawed argument. What did keeping Wannstedt after we all knew he couldn't win? Stability that ran us into the ground. Maybe the Ravens should have kept Billick for stability.

Cameron was always going to go once Parcells got here. The issue now, if Sparano ends up getting hired, who runs the defense?

U compared stability w/ 2 coaches who's tenure experienced hi's and then eventual lows.

They had atleast a CHANCE at it, Cam is not given a fair chance here . . . we didn't know after ONE season that Wanny couldn't win . . . but we obviously know that Cam can't? Gimme a break.

I've admitted, I've grown sour towards Cam because of decisions he's made as the year went on. But I do think part of the reason for his failures, atleast this year, was not signing an OC, while also being hands off on ST and defense. It seemed to me that none of the coaching staff was on the same page..

Plus, if the rumors of both his staff and the players getting tired of Cam, it's hard to keep him. It's one thing if 1 or 2 players don't like him, but most of the locker room leaders have a problem with Cam.

They went down from #4 in YPG to #20, from #16 in PYPG to #26, from #5 in QB rating to #16, from #7 in YPA to #19 ... to sum it up, they regressed in each and every offense category. What was your point again?

Parcells apparently does. He knows football, and that is why we hired him. If he did decide to keep Cam, I wouldn't be opposed to it. But since he is likely firing him, there are serious flaws that he sees.

Yea he knows football, I agree . . . but he also has never been in a role of this magnitude . . . hey like I said . . . if there is an obvious better canidate than Cam Cameron . . . then bring him in, but I just don't think that there is.

Cam obviously should "rookie" coach moments a few times this year . . . but that is to be expected . . . and if Cam is back, I want an OC in the booth to run his system . . . but this is where a guy like parcells steps in and can hopefully give some knowledge to Cameron.

At least Wanny was succesful to a point shag  The point about stability is that when you get so many HC's in as few seasons as we have had , then you will always be changing coaches and personnel to suit the new coach. You will never have what you want that way. You will always be rebuilding.

I suspect that by the end of next year we will be saying that the team went 8-8, that isn't bad. And with Bill and whoever at the helm we should go on to a better record again next year. i reckon that if i dont die until 2025, we will still be rebuilding---After another 15 Head Coaches have passed through us. i dont mean to be cynical, just pissed off that every year is a rebuilding year. When exactly do we play for NOW

There has to be a limit to the stability argument. I think 1-15 reached and surpassed that limit. How could it possibly be worse? I know, 0-16, but what's the real difference? The whole management team had to go, and that includes the coaching staff. Obviously, the whole organization, for years, has had no clue how to fix itself. That's why the High Zinger brought Parcells in -- he may have a clue. "May" is more than enough in view of 1-15.

nah, 1-15 is not the limit . . . so u mean a bounce here, and tipped pass there, and so on and we manage 5-11, it may look better on the surface, but underneath it is the same. Record isn't an argument here, this team has been VOID of talent for FARR too long . . . combined with the LACK of stability . . . it has been horrendus . . . and this 1-15 was a result of it. Now the young talent is FINALLY comming in, lets get the stability going . . . and maybe . . just maybe, we can get this thing turned in the right direction.

ONE thing is certain, it will never get turned around by consistently changing the staff every year.

Dont get me wrong, I agree. The whole thing called the Miami Dolphins has been the laughing stock of the league for a while. And with Fat Bastard you have a genius to rival Bellichick. i just dont like all this Dallas input.

It is like saying that unless you are an ex Cowboy you are worth nothing. Your coaching is crap, but dont worry, we will put it right. You need help in ST--Dont worry, we will sack your existing coach and replace him with the Cowboys/Giants ST coach. Doesn't it bother you guy's that we will look like last years Cowboys!!

And i dont mean in the win column either

No, WD  , it does not bother me. We could go 0-16 two years in a row or forever and not attain the classlessness J. Jones brings ;) just MHO. I'd like to look at it as why would these successful people want to LEAVE a winning organization to come to our disaster. Says something.

I'm with you on this. We have been down this road already, and look at where it go us. Everyone thinks BP will turn this sunken battleship around just by showing up. Not going to happen.

I really wish we would keep Cam and give him a fair shot next season with more young talent and healthy players. The players that quit on him, and on the fans and the team, need to be fired. Blame the coach all you want, but they are still professional players making ridiculous amounts of cash and have done absolutly jack. The players are as much to blame, as they the coach. This isn't High School dating, this is professional sports and they should do the job that they are being paid to do, regardless of their little feelings being hurt because they don't like the coach..wah wah wah.

As some of the Rams players said today, The coach can only make the calls, it is up to the players to execute, and execute well.

What is your personal opinion of Cam Lisa. Would you like him to stay, or would you like someone like Tony Soprano come in and takeover.

Sorry i missed you at Wembley, but i sure did try. Just didn't know where you were. Did meet up with JT99. Cracking guy, even tho his Bro supported the Giants

My personal opinion is that he is in over his head. If he is retained, I will of course support him. I am no expert. I like how he handles the media and doesn't make excuses, but I personally don't feel the confidence that it was a "rookie" coach making play calling and clock management mistakes. I also think that he misjudged some of the players' abilities. It is hard to get excited about this guy, IMO.

But you are an American. if he were managing a premiership club over here, we would all hail him as he didn't buckle under the duress of all the pressures brought to him .

You have also made it quite clear that you see no future under him either. I just find the whole situation real sad. I never thought that he would make up into being the HC here either but have supported him anyway. Now with Fat Bastard taking over I am really feeling suicidal. I just see us as being the Dallas Dolphins, nothing else.

I never ever rated Parcells as a HC after he left the Giants, so i as sure hope to hell he can be better as a whatever he is in football now, compared to that. I am sure his knowledge will be invaluable to the team, but I am still suspicious as th what he brings this team.

WD, I worked with a guy who left the NFL with an injury and became a teacher and coach. He was a millionaire+, and there he was everyday motivating the kids, trying to become a better teacher and person. I asked him his motivation one time, he was a pro bowler, super bowl ring owner, and he said, "I was trained by Bill Parcells." You want his name, I'm PM it.

What can I say to that  i just dont want Dallas/Giants coaches and players to dominate what we already have.

Dont get me wrong again. Bill Parcells has to prove to us he has what it takes. We dont need to prove anything,as fans. I know you have sentimental value on how you feel about him, and i hope everything you say about him is right. As a teacher I know how far he goes. As a teacher or mentor to Miami, I am not so sure. If he brings everything, then great, but i am not so sure of his ability anymore. IMO someone like CK, KB or Boomer could do the job at a snippet of the cost.

Don't get me wrong--I don't see him as a savior, yet I do see it as a step up in decision making. Successful people bring in "their own people" all the time. The NFL is such a crap shoot, there is no guarantee, yet surrounding the non-cap environment with proven NFL winners is a boon in the process. NOTHING could be worse than this season. I really wish you and most who post here could have been at the Ravens game live--better than any playoff win I've attended, then to witness the fallout of NE and Cincinatti, who STINK. We didn't even show up for NE after that big (and lucky) win.
Remember, I am from Pittsburgh, and I know you have NFL historic knowledge--I am no Dallas fan. Why I ended up a Dolphins fan is that I moved here when Dan Marino, who I watched play HS and college football, was the qb for the Dolphins. My dislike for everything Dallas runs deep---since I was a kid decorating our basement for Steelers games against them in the 70's.
