I like Eli and I definitely believe hes a very good QB but this would just be absurd. In no way shape or form does he deserve a deal bigger then his brothers.

    Per Rotoworld:

According to the Bergen Record, the Giants are working on a contract extension for Eli Manning that would surpass the seven-year, $99.2 million deal given to his brother Peyton.
Peyton's deal also included a $34.5 million signing bonus. Eli is under contract until 2009, but rumors are the Giants want a deal done by the end of the season. The newspaper says "Eli Manning will be a Giant for life." Oct. 9 - 9:09 am et

why not? They're both franchise QBs that have helped lead their teams to super bowls. what more can you ask of a QB?

The inflation rate in the NFL is much more rapid than the real world.

Yeah. I just don't understand all these players with contract disputes. I'll take even the base salary any day of the week.

Compare the stats. Peyton is significantly better across the board in everything including wins and losses. Eli is a top 5 qb in my opinion, like I said, I think hes a very good QB. I would argue Peyton Manning as the 1A QB, maybe a hair behind Brady. How can you justify paying a player who isnt as good, more then someone who is better? Its not the extension i question, just the amount he would be getting. :wink2:

Every top 10 player at their position is going to get a bigger contract than the last top 10 player at that position got. Such is the trend in the NFL right now. It's getting pretty ridiculous. I think part of it is the agents wanting to get this done before the current CBA expires.

Brothers? I didn't know Cooper had an NFL deal. :wink2:

If the Giants want to overpay I guess it's up to them. As good as he's been, he's still breaking out. And a Super Bowl ring always opens up the purse-strings.
