Was wondering who is on everyones favorites list. For me its Pennington, He has been very solid, is a respectable person, and reminds me of Marino in the way he carries himself and how proficient he is, and no I'm not comparing him to Marino. There is no comparison. So let me know who your current Favorite Dolphin player is.
At the moment: Ronnie Brown All-time: Ricky Williams (Before I get bashed or questioned for my pick, I have been watching football since 2001 lol)
no bashing from me... i have followed the fins for a while now, and i would place ricky 2nd or 3rd all time behind marino and then john offerdahl. current favorite is ronnie brown, closely followed by yeremiah bell.
Ronnie Brown is the D-Wade of the Phins...and I love D-Wade. Seriously though, he has great work ethic, he's incredibly gifted athletically, and he has a great attitude and personality as a teammate to boot. He is far and away my favorite, and second behind Marino. Just for fun, Zach is third, and Jay Fied....LOLOLOL just kidding....even Jamar Fletcher goes above Fiedler...even Cecil Collins goes ahead fo Fiedler...the only Dolphins figures ranked lower than Fiedler on my list are the ones who enabled him to waste all the talent we had...Wanny and co. Sorry, sidetracked...I hate that big-eared bastard, he looked like the cover of Mad Magazine....ok, I'll stop...oh and let's not forget the "Uh....Um....Ehhh....Um" so articulate with his Ivy League education...Ok, so I'm bitter, so what?
Downtown Ronnie Brown. The Pats game put him miles ahead of everyone else. Plus he's always smiling, the dude loves playing the game!
No doubt he's been an asset to this team, and I've been happy since we drafted him, but the Pats game just gives me a boner every time I think about it.
My all-time favorite Dolphin is Bob Griese (yeah, I'm old) and Pennington reminds me a lot of him. But Ronnie is just so much fun and so talented. Like a lot of people on this thread, I like Ricky. Very smart and interesting guy, and such an unbelievable runner in 2002. But he did a lot of harm to the franchise.
Mine too, and they're a lot alike. Bob had more zip on the ball and, based on my feeble recollection, *seemed* to be able to thread it in tighter spots.
I have to cheat here. I have quite a few players that I really like, but not really one above the others. On Offense..... Big Jake Long.. What a difference an Oline makes, and he is the cornerstone Ronnie Brown... Cant get over the smile he plays with. Fasano. He is turning out to be what McMike was SUPPOSED to be. Defense.... Y Bell .........playmaker ROth........non stop motor who has found his spot. Porter.......I even liked him as a Steeler fav. ALL TIME........ EASY........Mark Clayton Czonka Marino ZACH
Hard to choose between Ricky (anyone who's seen him play from 02-04 should know why), Ronnie, or Pennington. I'm going with Pennington because since when have we had a QB with above a 90 QB rating, only 1 pick (which really wasn't all his fault the WR wasn't a few inches taller in a better position) through 4 games and likely going to stay in that region? I'll give you a hint, his jersey number adds up to 4.
Favorite flavor right now, for me, is Down Town Ronnie Brown. My all time favorite has got to be Jake Scott. There are many players that I really like from through out the years but those two stand out for me. I will have to give credit where its due; Penny is the guy who has walked onto the scene and helped make it all work. As another said, he reminds me alot of Bob Griese, another very smart guy!!
Im going to go elsewhere for my pick.. Greg Camarillo is my pick.. Not only was he the savior of the most embarrassing season as a dolphins fan ever, but he has also proven that he is a great route runner and can make the clutch catches.. I think he needs more play time, and I find myself rooting for this guy every day...
no doubt I like Ricky. Just kinda pulling for him to become a solid person. But I will admit I may be getting a little man crush on Pennington. Just seems like a cool guy to be around who, kinda got a victim of circumstances and ended up here. He has displayed class, leadership, and ball security. He doesn't care who does what as long as the wins come. A real team mate.
My favorite on this team is Ronnie Brown. Having said that, Chad was the missing piece that has made this team so good so fast. My favorite all time is Marino.
Yeremiah Bell, that guy has overcome so much adversity and never gave up. I gotta respect that. Davone Bess and Samson Satele are next for the current crop. Larry Czonka and Zach Thomas are the only two on the all time list...so far anyway.
Penny, Ronnie, Long, Fasano, Satele...really hard to choose just one. It was definitely a much easier question back in the day with Zach on the team. What the hell, I'm going with good ol' Chad. Eventhough he wore enemy colors for so long the guy always seemed to have our number. He's the best QB we've had since Marino and it's nice to see our offense come together with him behind center. I've always admired his leadership both on the field and in the locker room. Also the fact that he is so willing to help in any way possible develope his eventual replacement in Henne. He's just a class act period. Marino and Zach Thomas are my all time favorite Phins.
RONNIE 'HANDS DOWN' BROWN... I must give Joey some props, i truly don't think we would be in this position without him, he has become our leader like him or not...i like him. Ya'll don't sleep on the BULLFROG you hear. BIG JAKE...THE PREMIER LEFT TACKLE IN THE GAME... sounds nice does'nt it....
I'll take it a step further...I've been watching the Dolphins since 1984 and I've been following their history since the 90's (60's, 70's, etc...) And I'm fairly sure that Ronnie Brown is my favorite Dolphins player of all time. He plays the game the way I did when I was a kid...flipping the script on defenders by initiating the contact instead of being the recipient of it. And much like the sandlot legends of my little section of Miami-Dade county (Kendall/Richmond Heights/Perrine) he just smiles after getting into a major collision, encouraging his opposition to bring it all day every day. P.S. My favorite player of all time is Ronnie Lott. I idolized him growing up, and modeled my approach to defense (in football, soccer, and basketball) after him; seeing the entire play as it develops, making plays out of nowhere, and being as tough as possible at all times. Oh and acting like I'd been there before with humility (similar to Barry Sanders...another all-time favorite.)
Good stuff Hugo...you two are some crazy mo fo's, love when ronnie does that stuff, smilin and sh## after he pummels someone.
A number of people mentioned Yeremiah Bell -- definitely a guy who deserves respect. Tough for him, he was an unrestricted free agent after 2007 but there wasn't much of a market for him because of his Achilles. I was surprised to see he is going to be 31 next March. These guys make great money, but we should never lose sight of how short their careers usually are. Yeremiah Bell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
