ESPN - Who's best running now, Brown, Portis, Peterson or Turner? - NFL Looks like they are comparing Ronnie, Portis, AP, and Turner. I liked this quote at the end of Ronnie's section:
ESPN includes Brown in discussion of elite backs ESPN - Who's best running now, Brown, Portis, Peterson or Turner? - NFL It's still early, but it's nice to see that fans aren't the only ones pegging Brown as elite.
Its between Portis and Brown at the moment IMO. I don't really know if I can put either on top but I'd gladly take either on my team lol.
I remember all of the arguments on the other site that were saying we should have taken Benson, Williams or anybody else but Ronnie Brown. I wonder if anybody has that opinion now?
speaking of that draft. i wonder if Saban would of still picked Ronnie if Alex Smith was available. Gotta give Saban credit for picking Ronnie.
I's amazing how a game or 2 can change the opinion of a player from bust to beast, or beast to bust. How do you classify Michael Clayton? He had a phenomenal rookie year, getting ROY and I believe made it to the pro bowl... then dropped off the face of the earth. I think he had an injury to deal with, but I seem to remember reading the past 2 offseasons how he was back to 100% and ready to prove his worth. Ronnie got off to a slow start, but started opening some eyes last year. Let's hope he knocks that injury bug and we get to see what happens when he played 16 games in a season.
I really think the difference for Ronnie was that offseason conditioning program + rehab! Last year he came in overweight and cordial, then got it going. This year, he came in in good condition despite the knee surgery, largely inspired by the year he was having before the injury I'm sure... And he seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder this year which I AM LOVING! As long as we don't have any setbacks on offense and he stays healthy, I'm seeing an MVP type year!
