Palm Beach Post: Soliai suspended for Sunday’s game Palm Beach Post: Palm Beach & Treasure Coast news, sports, entertainment, jobs, cars, homes
My guess is that we'll see Starks spelling Ferguson at NT. Wouldn't be surprised to see Langford in there either but that's unlikely to happen. He spent time at DT while at Hampton and he's near 300.
i like rod wright but nose is not his best spot unless he has gotten bigger, thought he was a dt/end. i don't know if he will command or handle a double team consistantly
I'd bet Starks fills in at nose, and Wright and Starks split time at DE when Ferguson is in the game just to keep Starks fresh enough to play the nose.
fergusan has been really solid so far and i hope he can last all season. i really like what starks has been doing also and guess he's the best option, but essentially we need another nose and i'm still hoping solia is that guy.
I think Starks can do a good job of backing up Ferguson. Soliai plays sometimes like he's on skates. Starks can play both NT and DE and I'm not sure if you caught Pasqualoni's presser but he said something similar. I believe he said that they would feel good if Starks had to play NT for a certain reason.
Starks will get beaten in the stack and shed game on the interior IMO. He plays with more quickness than Fergy at this point, and shoots gaps more from what I've seen. Fergy is the master of absorbing contact and getting off the block and making the RB move. Starks is not as good at leverage either. For my money Starks is the versatile DE in our scheme than can kick inside on passing downs and help generate a push from the interior. Who knows we may even see Lionel Dotson get a chance inside.
Ah, gotcha. Starks is similar to Jay Ratliff for us I'm guessing? Even though Ratliff is primarily a Nose, I could be wrong but I believe he kicks out to End in certain situations.
"Violating team rules" could mean anything from "showing up late" to "drinking a beer" depending on who the coach is. It's a team rule and each team has their own.
Unless Paul or the team says, this will probably remain a mystery. It is what it is, and what matters is that he will DEFINATELY be out this game.
Yeah, Nicely said. IIRC, it seems Starks gets more snaps on passing situations because of this. Would you agree? I like Starks a lot. Outside of being caught out of position on that QB draw (which I don't think was his fault at all. More of not having a linebacker spying) I think he has done a great job all season. He's a really young player too who I feel could develop into a real nice player for what this team is trying to do. I really believe he can be an asset on our DLine for years to come and it's one less need that will need to be fulfilled come the draft. IMO he'll be the reason we can really concentrate on LB and DB in the draft and Free agency
