This says a lot, and probably says it all "Unfamiliarity fired Cameron more than 1-15 did. He was outside Parcells' and Ireland's inner circle."

    HUH?

What made this writer confuse Cam Cameron with Chuck Noll, Landry, or Parcells??

    :confused2:

Cam is what he is...an ok coach, but not an NFL Head Coach.

i'll bet there was a similar article written in August regarding Cameron and Culpepper. Familiarity...how ironic.

The problem I think is, that we're really not a 1-15 team. Despite injuries and the new gig as a head coach, we're not a 1-15 team. with our talent rosterwise, we shouldve had 4 wins, 6 wins. and we werent JUST 1-15. we didnt win in week 6 and then just slid terribly. we fought for our lone win to the death in week 14, to spare us the humiliation of a defeated season. Cameron isnt totally the fall guy imo. some of this is his fault too.

Agreed. Light training camp, questionable play-calling, hiring new guys to run the strength and conditioning program, inability to gain respect of certain players, indecissiveness about when/where to allow the young guys to play, 1-15, etc.

I respect Cam as a person, but he's just not head coaching material, yet. I didn't miss Saban who went 15-17 in two years, and I surely won't miss Cam either. I just don't see what everyone likes about him so much. Sure, there were injuries - I contribute that it was due to the inexperience in the strength & conditioning personnel that Cam hired, as well as a soft training camp. Hell, he improved our ppg from 16.1 to 16.3, even with injuries we should have gone up a full point.

What I liked was the fact he wasn't afraid to bring in young blood and try to rebuild this team the right way, which means yes, a bad season, on the job training for himself as well..now the new coach will get the benefit of those young guys next year, and we'll be saying this is a good coach, when in actuality, it was the foundation being set this year that got us there.

Anybody that doesn’t get Cam bringing in a veteran quarterback who was familiar with his system is a blockhead. Especially knowing he had Cleo on the roster as a back-up. Then he did draft a quarterback for the future. Nobody could imagine Trent would bash his head into the first knee bone that stuck his way. Freak thing, in a freak year. I was very happy we went with an offensive minded coach. I loved San Diego’s style of play. What happened to Cam was very unfortunate and I do feel Wayne pulled the rug out from under him. There is no way Cam went into this promising the moon in that interview. If he did, then good riddance, fool. The whole story will come out. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere. Time to bash Cam is past now.
