Watching the highlights on NFL network and I just saw the jets running the wildcat formation vs the raiders.
Just a gimmick, won't last? What are all the critics going to say about that I wonder?

The Jets actually ran the Single-Wing or Wildcat offense before us. They ran it last year in a direct snap to Leon Washington for a gain of eight yards. But there have been several teams run the Wildcat this year.

If it works why not use it? My only problem with the Wildcat is you have to know when to use it and not try it too often. I think the Ravens had Ray Lewis just waiting for Ronnie Brown all day and Ronnie just did his usual side to side motion and little else. I think we need to throw from the Wildcat more often to keep the D honest. They also were ready to stop Ricky Williams on the sweep from this formation. Most teams are not as good as the Ravens on defense so you have to give them credit. They shut us down.
