It amazes me how many people whine about the "unfair" firing of Cam Cameron and the "instability" of changing yet another head coach and offensive system, and lastly about Parcells bringing in his guys being a bad thing.

Seriously, do you ever want this franchise to field an elite team again? We have not even been a long shot to get to or win a Superbowl for over 2 freaking decades!!

Parcells and his guys give us a CHANCE to get back there again.

Prediction, year one we go 7-9, year 2 10-6 and make the playoffs, year 3 we are legitamate contenders in the AFC again.

Seriously, how can you not be excited about the future? Where has Parcells failed in the past?

For me it was the fact that half the regular Joe posters right here know exactly what the Fins need to do exactly that. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon or multimillion dollar supposed “genius” to figure it out. It’s about making a commitment, and sticking to it and seeing it through. I believe Cam was qualified to produce just those same results you are wishing for, and maybe could have done better. There is some pride in building something that buying it can not match. It is all moot now, but I was supporting Cam because he was my coach yesterday. I was a supporter. Now I'll move on because I will support whoever they bring in.

I agree. Parcells has a proven track record of turning bottom dweller franchise into playoff teams/Super Bowl contenders within 2 to 3 years. He has done is four times in the past, and I think we finally have a guy in charge we can sit back and relax with. People have complained for years about Wayne not being a football owner and that we needed a football mind calling the shots. Now we finally have one. If Parcells doesn't think keeping Cameron is a good idea, then that is 100% the right call in my book.

Our front office could turn out to be one of the top in the league in a few years. Wayne with his deep pockets, Parcells with his great football knowledge and a great young talent in Ireland making the personal decisions. Whoever gets the head coaching job(likely Sparano) will likely succeed in this new Dolphin format.

This is an exciting time, and it will be fun watching these guys turn us back into a powerhouse.

We need a couple of real good drafts plus,we need a little luck in the draft like how we
got Zach and JT in later rounds or how the Pats got Brady. You can't expect to draft players in those
rounds and assume they will be pro bowlers, thats just luck...or in the Pat's case ,they hit the QB
lottery in the "what" 5th round.Sheesh

It was actually the 6th Round. Don't forget that the Pats have Scott Pioli who is one of the best talent evaluators in the league.

I was happy when Parcells was hired. I have no problem with any decisions that he makes as long as it's for the greater of the team. Whatever had to be done then so be it, as long as this organization starts winning again !

I haven't been excited about an offseason since Saban got hired. My prediction: 8-8 next year and 10-6 the next.

I am not not excited about it, and I don't think I said the firing of Cam was unfair. I liked the guy, and my whole point has been the unwarranted hate of the guy on this board. If Bill wants to fire him then that is fine, but why hate Cam because he could not turn garbage around in a year that no one could have? I am just speaking against the animosity to cam...not the firing, yeah he was fired before he had a chance for us to see what direction he was going but that happens. I am just tired of the bandwagon people here......"Saban is god(uh oh...get rid of him now), Cam, he is our Savior(ugh, get rid of him), Yes! Parcells is our guy(????), people jump on bandwagons of coaches here as bad as pats fans. Let's quit this nick is god and then a devil,Cam is our savior and then a devil, and now Parcells is go.d..how many gods do you people have? Let's just kick back and enjoy it and see what happens. and quit condeming these guys. I am no fan of Wanny either but I don't curse him..he did the best with what he knew, just did not know enough. Before we go giving the keys to the kingdom to Bill, let's kick back and see how it goes. I hope he is our guy just like I hoped Nick and then Cam were, but I ddi not fall down and bow to them when they came on board, because humans err, and if things don't go right immediately most of the fans are ready to tar and feater them. Let Cam go into the sunset, with our gratitude for what effort he did put forth and the decent draft he gave us and for trying his best, no matter how much or little that was.

And I would remind that it is not anywhere near the whole fault of a HC, have to have support staff in the FO and up...which Cam did not have much of. Bill is addressing that part of it and that should be a good thing. I am happy Bill is here, wish I could have known what direction Cam was building in tho.

I am once again hopeful that this will be the guy that will turn it around here but this sure feels similar to them last few can't miss big name hires we've had around here. Where had JJ or Saban failed in the past? They sure made exceptions for us. Are you not sick of seeing a new coach making th same promises of "restoring a winner " and "bringing back the glory days " every year?

Is not about being fair or not...is like Ireland said, they "didn't know the guy that well" and they want to "move forward instead of looking back" Is time to move on with Tuna,Ireland and the new HC....we'll never know for sure what Cam would have done....I suported him but he made way too many questionable moves on game day, training camp and wgo to star at QB too.....it seems like we're starting all over again but this time is a good new start....a real football guy is running the show now and he's gonna bring his people in....Cam is a Christian like me and I wish him nothing but the best....he's got money coming in from his contract and there'll be plenty of teams that can use a good OC if he wants to go back to work.

    Ozzy rules!!

First off, I am fully aware with the abilities of Scott Pioli. He's done one hell of a job while working in the Pats FO. He is a great evaluator of talent.. I think we all know that.

With that said, as far as Brady being drafted, it had to have been pure luck. I find it hard to believe that anyone thought he would perform at such a high level in the NFL -- heck all 32 teams passed over drafting him 5 times. -- as opposed to someone like Peyton Manning who was the very first pick.

Not only was it extremely lucky that Brady turned into what he did, it was under extreme luck that Brady even played. He was 3rd string when Mo Lewis laid the hit on Bledsoe and knocked him out of the game, and for whatever reason Brady eventually ended up on the field. And the rest is history. And its been a nightmare for everyone whose not the patriots.

I don't think one season is enough to know the talents of a head coach. I am excited that the Tuna's calling the shots. I can't blame him for wanting to bring in his own guy.

Did Cameron get a "raw" deal? Probably, though going 1-15 isn't going to help job security.

thing is if it was ANYBODY else brought in to do the VP job Cam had a chance knowing how badly we were injured through out the season but as we all know Parcells will bring in Parcell men to do his work...someone he trained personally to take the head coaching helm...they call them "tuna helpers" what worries me is the fact that he has tightened on the team so quickly and i quite frankly didnt like the team so tightly wounded under Saban and getting that way again will get quite boring from a media stand point

Absolutely sick of the same promises but in Parcells case I believe him, he has proven it more times than anyone in football that hecan turn things around, because he loves and understands NFL football to his core. The OTHERS who promised had no idea what they were getting into.

I think the difference between a coach promising to turn things around and Parcells is the fact that Parcells has all the tools at his disposal to make it happen, plus his own instincts in spotting talent, plus a great track record. I don't think I will worry so much, and we all need to be patient with him and the new coach, like 2-3 years patient. We can't get to the SB in one year. It takes time and now we have all the pieces in place to know that all it takes now is time, not time plus this and that and the other intangible things. Just wait!

my only issue with the situation is that Cam and Mueller could have given us that chance to win it all too... they had finally started a rebuilding process we have been needing for YEARS... they could have scrapped together some vets, not traded Chambers, resigned Carter, kept Mcmichael, etc and maybe we are a better team, win 6 games...

but they decided to go young, get rid of old big contracts, take the hit for the year to be better in the future, have 10 active rookies on the opening day roster, 10! thats insane... trade our number 1 WR for a draft pick, etc...

they were working to build this team like it is supposed to be built, instead they get canned after the beginning phases...

thats the problem, Cam and Randy were starting to do things the RIGHT way, and they didn't get a chance to continue, they had a great first draft, and good draft picks to continue building the team, now we start over again and basically lose last year and have to relearn schemes, reaquire players for those schemes, etc...

its just too hasty for my liking, but one thing about all of this, all we each want is the Dolphins to win, hopefully this will help

Curious...who are the 10? Ginn, Satele, Soliai, Mauia, Fields, Miles, and Bryan only account for 7.

Mormino was injured, Booker, A. Wright, and Beck were inactives, and Smith I believe was cut at the time.

I'm still not sold on the hype of this class. Ginn and Beck are still mysteries, Soliai was inactive a lot and Booker didn't play til late in the year. We can do better than Mauia, Fields, Mormino, Smith and Abe Wright. Satele is the only one that played lights out at any point in the season.
