A much needed great day for Ginn. He made the tough catches, got open, and had a helluva day. 7 catches for 175... discuss
Ted Ginn breaks out what a game from Ginn! They finally got him the ball down field and he made plays. He may be small but he can take some hits and hold onto the ball. I'm hoping that this is the confidence booster that he desperately needs to get himself going. MVP of the game, great win and nice job Teddy!
Wow. He's gotten physical and proves that he can take a hit. Shuts me up right there for sure. Got to give him credit, he played a helluva game, not only on offense but he saved our behind on that muffed kickoff.
I thought the first play of the game set the tone. Teddy made a tough catch over McGee and Chad had the confidence to goto him after that.
That first catch was great. I don't think he would have outrun Whitner on the other one. Great game by Ginn.
We came out with a game that called for getting the ball to Ginn deep, we came out and did it on our first couple of drives, including the first play of the game, which set the tone for what we would do the rest of the game. Kudos to Ginn, this was easily his best game as a pro.
Ginn tore it up today, yet the haters will still be critical of him. Great day for Ginn.....7 for 175 HELL YEAH!!!!!!!
Awesome game by Ted Ginn. Welcome to the NFL! Ted wouldn't have beaten Whitner, he had the angle. Great YAC, he made some tough catches, made some BIG catches. Great game. If we can get some consistency there, he could be a very good player for us.
it was a great game why would he not trust his speed in that run?? is he not that fast or is whitner a safety faster that is the only complaint i have he was dynamite and holding onto a couple of those catches were great
He actually stutter stepped and had Whitner beat. It was a sick move, Mitchell was trailing the play and caught him from behind after Teddy slowed up to juke Whitner...
I'm proud of the guy and I am one of the people saying he is looking like a bust. If he can do this for a few more weeks I'll have to reconsider. Its great to be 3-4 versus 2-5 though. That Texans game still haunts me...win it and the Fins are 4-3 right now and a game out of first. There is still some hope though and overall a great game.
I'll eat my share of crow as I have been extremely critical of the guy up to this point. He played exceptionally well this week, but please DO NOT lose sight of the fact that he toasted a guy (McGee) who was essentially playing on one ankle. I'll hold judgement until I see some sort of consistency from him.
I'll go back and look at it, but when they replayed it, Whitner looked like he had a good angle, and ginn was forced to angle himself. he was heading to the sideline and wsa running out of room, hence the stutter step..
I am still wondering why he stopped on that one catch and run, I think he would have easily beat Donte to the sideline and gotten a TD. And Ginn bailed out Chad multiple times today. He was so wide open andChad could barely get the end over end ball to him. Kudos to Ginn for selling out and taking a few licks to secure the catch. Good game by Ginn.
This post is uncalled for. Again, give credit where credit is due. If McGee was that banged up why did they let him cover Ginn ALL GAME LONG? You'd think after 100 or so yards receiving they might make a switch? I said it in the other thread, some people are never satisfied...
I said it in this thread, haters will still be Critical of him. Damn, we win a game, Ginn plays his butt off and yet people find a way to bash him or take away what he did today.Unreal.
I've been saying it all year long; he's open EVERY WEEK. I'm not surprised by Ginn's performance. He was due. He should be on pace for 1,000 yards this year, and I'm not exaggerating.. he gets open like this EVERY WEEK. I'm surprised, however, that we actually looked his way. NICE BLOCKING UP FRONT, great job by CHAD today. Atta boy, Teddy! And for those who have anything negative to say about Ted's PERFECT day, look, we know you're still upset that we drafted an entire "family" and only got one player out of it, but LET IT GO.
I think what happens is that people become so emotionally invested in their opinions of a player. Then when the guy succeeds, they make excuses as to why they were wrong. Im not saying Ginn is going to be a superstar in this league by any means. He has a long way to go and today was a nice start. Lets hope he can build on this and become a better receiver.
The most impressive thing is that he held on to the 2-3 balls where he took a LICK. This kid has heart; got right back up and got into the defender's face.
emotionally invested or not...be happy for a guy who takes a lot of "heat"... he played his butt off! Im emotionally invested dude...VERY invested.. and i couldn't be happier..
I can't believe the stat line for Ginn today. unbelievable. i cant wait to dowload and see this game. just unbelievable, i almost had a heart attack when i pulled up the stats on my cell phone... 175 yards?! ginn?!?! i thought it had to be a mistake!! hopefully he can gain some confidence from this and keep it going. we need it.
