The division now looks like this:

    Bills: 5-2
    Patriots: 5-2
    jets: 4-3
    MIAMI 3-4

We're two games back and already have wins over the Bills and the Patriots. If we can string some wins together, we could make a run for the division. Seriously. The Pats and the Bills aren't that great. We've all seen all the teams in this division. You could argue that the Bills and Pats are better, but we beat em both!

I'm not gonna go crazy, but I think a bit of optimism is healthy.

    Wow....New England is actually 5-2?

Of course, you talk about an absolute CUPCAKE opening of the season... Couldnt have hand-picked an easier opening...and that's pretty interesting considering they were in the SB last year.

Yes a victory over Denver, if we can follow it up by winning the very winnable home games against Seattlle and the Raiders, would put us in the hunt. The losses by Jacksonville, and San Diego today, definitely open up wild-card options. If Tennesse can defeat the Colts, that would put a 3rd team that looked like a no-brainer playoff team to have a 4th loss at this point. The one loss that could hurt us in a wild-card situatin would be the Baltimore one.

The only difference between the #1 team in a division's schedule and the #4 team's schedule is 2 games. Otherwise, the Dolphins, Bills, Pats, and jets all play the same teams.

And suspensions on obviously outspokenly dirty plays *cough* Vince Wilfork *cough* and dealing with absolute scandulous cheating by well.....teaching a team a lesson.

I am not going to make any more predictions of individual games.

So far this season, Im 0-7 at predictions. Seriously. And I bet Im not the only one. So whatever I say, the opposite happens.

So we WILL NOT make the playoffs.

I lossed a lot of enthusiasm after the texan game, this win game makes me kinda of feel that they learned their lesson,my optimism will be back if we go beat the bronco's and then be able to come home for meaningful games

it has been posted elsewhere around here but this season is a rollercoaster ride. more in the negative but the positives have been so huge and in such a gigantic fashion that it's hard not to get all giddy and stupid when we come away with the Ws we've come away with.

You know what it is, we were so bad last year, and I'm so giddy right now with 3 wins, I just don't want to get ahead of myself. I know we are a young team and can beat anyone, but also lose to anyone.

We are building a great winning foundation, but again, we have the cart, but I don't know if we have the horses yet for playoffs.

I love this analogy and is true in my opinion. The foundation we have looks spectacular but there are a few pieces to the puzzle that either A) aren't showing up or B) we don't have. Ginn stepping up was huge for me. 7/175? And I don't think he gets that TD even if he continues running at full speed instead of trying to juke his guy. I'm a supporter of his. J.Allen got his chance and seemed to say "Hello, I'm here and making the most of my chances" with 6 tackles and 1 pass defensed.

I think there have only been 5 teams to ever make the playoffs after starting the season 3-4. Of those teams only one won a game once they reached the playoffs.

To start this season I had a simple way of looking at our team. If our team is showing signs of improvement I will be happy. That may be an over simplified way of looking at it, but as bad as this team was last year and as many bad things that had happened to the Dolphins it seemed the only way for me to look at it.

Sure it would be great to make the playoffs or even win the division but for right now I will appreciate the little things and remember how bad things had become. It wasn't so long ago that the Dolphins were a disaster hoping for FEMA funds and now we see daylight where once there were only black clouds but thats JMO.

looking ahead, our schedule does get easier... we have upcoming games with:
    KC, 49ers, Oakland, Seattle, Rams....

though anything can happen any week... thats 5 of our remaining 9 games... not bad...

I think the playoff talk is very premature. But it's nice that it's a possibility. I'm just thrilled that we're playing competitive football and beating good teams. If we can start beating the teams we should beat as well, then we can start seriously talking about the playoffs. We'll know how far a stretch the playoff talk is after the next 3 games.

IF we beat the teams we're "supposed" to beat, we should see wins versus:

    Seattle (11/9)
    Oakland (11/16)
    St. Louis (11/30)
    San Francisco (12/14)
    KC (12/21)

That's 5 wins to add to our current 3 wins.

We could very possibly enter week 17 with 9 wins and have to play at the jets for our 10th win!!!

I just re-read what I just wrote, and I officially admit to getting ahead of myself.

All I can say is that it sure is nice to be able to talk about sniffing the playoffs after last year. And I personally think there is chance especially if we can beat all the teams mentioned in the post above mine and can win a couple of the other 4 not mentioned.

The light switch went on for the Seahawks yesterday, they are not as bad as their record, The Rams are playing some of the best football in the league the past few weeks, and they have the WR's to kill our secondary.

I really would not count any of these games as should win.

Well...lets start beating some of the teams we should beat and then we can talk playoffs...we're going to have our ups and downs...I thought everyone figured that out the last two weeks...a 6-10 season is still progress given the talent level on this team...

Long and short of it is that it is way to early for our team to be talking about playoffs. I want to talk about how our defense is going to stop the Broncos offense.

I don't know what the over under is on this game but I am guessing over right about now....

People also need to keep in mind that playing AT St. Louis and AT Kansas City will hurt because it's damn cold there in those winter months. It's going to be extremely cold in late December when we go to Kansas City.

My prediction before the season was that we would be in the playoff hunt. I didn't think we'd make it but we would at least be relevant again. The only thing that has changed is that Buffalo is better than I expected and many teams are worse than I expected. I don't think any team in the AFCE will win more than 11 games. I think 10 is more probable for the division winner. I think we'll win 7 or 8. I doubt that 8 would get us in but the AFC is so bad I can't say it's impossible. And if we get a lucky bounce or two and win 9 that might be enough, but we'll need to continue to improve and have some of that aforementioned luck.

Tie-breaker wise yes, but I had that game as a toss up.

The one that hurts is the one we should've won ...flat-out which was Houston.

I had us problably losing to Denver so I figure we can make up for the Houston loss by beating Denver and being 4-4 as I had hoped.

After that we MUST beat the teams we know we can beat and try and grab a win from the tougher games (at Buff and at Jets). Seattle, SF, Oakland, NE (Yes again), St. Louis and KC. Thats 6-2 at best = 10-6...

I ate my crow after the Baltimore game saying my original 10-6 prediction was a bad one (and I still think it is). If this team beats the teams it can beat, then in a perfect world, yes we'd be 9-7 or 10-6 end of season. But you never know...ie. Houston.
