Aright, I need a qb for week 8. Who do I pick up between:

    Russel in Atl

    Garcia in KC

    Bulger in Ari

Bulger could have a nice game, but the safe play is Garcia. Russel is awful.

those are miserable options. I guess you're essentially forced into that trade for Garrard.

Garcia. Stay away from Russell at all costs.

I'd try to get a better QB straight up for White, the #3 in my league @ WR.

I love Gus' playoff schedule. Do you have enough depth @ WR to make this trade?

PS I hate the Jets. Every team in the league just runs the ball on KC but not the Jets. "We have Brett "I'm Old" Favre so we'll throw it every down". Unbelievable.

It wont change this year, and the closer they get to the goal the more they will throw it. Why? Early in the season when they were running it the media was all over Mangini demanding to know why the "all time leading TD passer in NFL history" is handing off the ball.
Umm, because hes just as prone to throwing a disastrous pick? But whatever, ever since then Mangini has been calling Bretts number all season and I doubt it will change. If you have a Jet RB id think hard about swinging some kind of trade involving them.
On the other hand, it does make the Jet WRs/TEs a bit more valuable.

I was down four points in a league and he had Marvin Harrison left and I had Bullock left. I thought for sure I was a goner. The end of the day Harrison only had 1 catch for 2 fantasy points, and Bullock gave me 6 points so we tied. Hey I'll take a tie over a loss any day.

It's a good situation to have, but which two RB's would you start this week?

    Jacobs vs. Boys
    SJax vs. Cards
    Forte vs. Lions

Forte should have a field day. I'm think 100 yards rushing, 40 yards receiving, and two TD.

As for Jacobs vs. Jackson, I would find out if you even have a choice. Will Jackson play? If so, start him.

I like Forte and SJax for now. Lions can't stop a fly and Forte's been a beast so he must be started. SJax could be iffy but I like his matchup against the Cards who gave up some good yards last weekend. Keep an eye on his injuries and if he can't go at 100%, consider Jacobs since sooner or later, the Giants passing O will open up the run game.

I need to start 2 of the following for this week:

    Slaton @ Minn

    Fargas vs ATL

    Dunn vs KC

Obviously I need to keep tabs on Dunn.

Slaton though I hate the matchup. If he can get something off the passing game he might still produce. Keep an eye on Dunn. If he's anything less than 100%, they'll likely give Graham more reps and Carnell Williams is practicing. Either way, I'd go with Fargas. Cable likes the guy and McFadden is gimpy plus the Falcs have a sub-par run D.

With targets like Johnson, Walters, and Daniels, doesn't surprise me a bit. They've got one potent offense that really just needs more stable OL play.

IYO which is the better NE back to hold onto in the long run....Jordan or Green-Ellis? I need to lose one to make space.

also with Witten possibly out which backup TE would you pickup off the WW?

-Shiancoe (Vikings) vs. Texans this week
-Olsen (Bears) vs. Lions this week
-Miller (Raiders) vs. Falcons this week

Don't think i'm gonna accept the trade of Jackson/Garrard for Roddy White. White has been my most steady player and generally gets at least 75-100 yards and a TD. I have no WR depth, i'm a 16 team league. Desean has some TD's but isn't exactly a red zone target, especially with Westbrook on the team. I'm gonna wing it and put my eggs in Gus's basket. If he can just quit turning the ball over so much, he can put up good numbers.

David Garrard isn't even that big of an upgrade over Gus Frerotte, certainly not worth the downgrade from Roddy to DeSean. Good job rejecting that trade.

Ronnie. Oakland actually has a decent run defense. Not great, but better than Denver's.

Both are tasty match-ups and I expect good games for each. Sparano saying he wants Rickey to get the ball more is not good news for Ronnie. With Turner you know he's going to get the call 20+ times. Go with Ronnie and give yourself an added reason to root the Dolphins on.

Whatd you guys think of the keepers on my team? I can keep any 3.

    Rivers, Garcia

    Slaton, Fargas, Dunn, Deuce, Morris

    Fitz, Marshall, Cotchery, Gage

    Cooley

I figure that I have to keep Marshall and Fitz bc their obviously 2 of the best in the league. The other 1 I think I'm struggling between Slaton and Rivers. I hate keeping a QB but if Ill Phil keeps putting up huge numbers I think I might have too.

I've never done a keeper league before so I'm not really sure if keeping 2 WRs is a great idea. Thoughts?

I've never done a keeper, but I think you follow the draft code... Draft the best players at the most important positions.

Keep your best players at the most important positions. Fitz, Marshall, and Slaton.

QB are a dime a dozen... Rivers was drafted in the 10th round or worse in every league this year. Same as Rodgers (3rd best QB), Warner (4th best), Cutler (5th best), etc...

You'll never find a stud WR drafted in round 10 as you will find those kind of QB.

Does your draft position get based off your finishing spot in the league (ie. last picks 1st)? Next year you draft a RB with your first pick. You're easily set up for a run next year.

Not sure how a keeper league works, but Rivers has a pretty favorable schedule from here on in. Chambers will be coming back after the bye, I expect Rivers will be one of the best fantasy QBs in the second half

Yea, my draft position next year depends on how I finish this year. I'm just wondering if I've seen the best of Slaton or not.

He's looked solid so far this year. So many options in SD.

Yup, he's tied with Warner for 1st in my league.

My main concern is: Is it smart to keep Slaton and not Rivers? I really do feel like I need to keep at least 1 RB, and Slaton is def the only one I have to be close to considered a keeper. If Rivers keeps it up he makes it difficult tho.

Obviously you keep Fitz. Marshall is a tougher call because he has that looming 3rd strike that can hit at any time but you still have to keep him.

Depending on your scoring, total number of teams and how people value positions you can make your decision on Slaton or Rivers. You'll have to base your decision on the history of your league and the likelihood that you will find similar players at their positions when you let either go. Is Slaton going to be an every down back touching the ball 22+ times a game? Is Rivers finally matured to the point where he is reliable allowing the offense to evolve with him? With both you have to take a leap of faith.

As a rookie, I have to imagine he isn't close to his ceiling.

How many teams in your league? It's possible you can draft another QB as good or Rivers himself. I've got to imagine that an 8-12 team league is going to have 14-20 RB remain on the roster. Tough to sac one guy with potential for a QB, especially when there will be other QB out there...

You NEED RB to win fantasy leagues leagues. I've seen a Jake Delhomme team win a league.

How about a trade? If you're floundering in the league, or will likely lose, make a trade. Slaton+Marshall for a RB. Then you keep the RB, Fitz, and Rivers.

Definitely watch out for the rest of the season. When do you have to decide?

I don't have to decide till before next season.

The thing is that a lot of teams that are likely out of it this season, are making big trades for keeper players for next season. People are incredibly stubborn and stingy with RBs. I've definitely tried a few times to move Slaton for a true top tier RB but with no success.

I'm in 5th place (tied for 3rd) out of 12. I'll def make the playoffs and have a shot at winning this year so I cant blow up my team yet.

OK, here's the idea... Go out and try to get Joey Addai, or Larry Johnson. Both guys have no real value this year (sucks for me, I drafted Addai 1st in one of my leagues haha) and should come cheap.

Addia will be fine. Colts will retool that offense and he'll be a 1,200 yard 10 TD back.

Larry Johnson might be out of KC. He could end up in NE, NO, GB, NYJ, TB, and maybe a few other teams. Since you don't have to decide who to keep until next draft, he could be a good pickup.

There might be a few guys like that out there, These two jumped out at me.

    edit: Maybe Willie Parker too?

I need to fill the second RB slot on one of my rosters. I have Michael Turner @ Oakland in one, my choices are Marion Barber @ NY Giants or Steve Slaton @ Minnesota. I'm leaning towards Barber.

Maybe, maybe not. Also, this isn't a PPR league, and Slaton is pretty good at catching passes as well.

Barber does seem to be a better choice though.
