Since week 3 the Denver Broncos haven't been the same. The Broncos have serious problems with injuries to key players. Jay Cutler who was lighting it up the first quarter of the season, has seen Brandon Marshall (Groin), Brandon Stokley (Concussion), Selvin Young (Groin) and Tony Scheffler (Groin) go down without able back-ups to come in a produce. Defensively, the well-known CB Champ Bailey has gone down for a few weeks with a groin injury as well. There's a herd of injuries on the Bronco's roster, but coming off a bye week, is this going to be a renewed, refreshed team that comes in rehabilitated? Or will we see a team that continues to struggle that at the beginning of the season was crowned a contender? Jay Cutler who injured his finger against the Patriots on the first possession of the game looks to lead the Broncos back into contention this coming Sunday against our Phins who are coming off an impressive win at home versus the Bills. If the Phins can play mistake-free football and derail the Bronco's hopes to come off a bye week with a win, they'll get back to .500 and right back in the battle in a always tough division, the AFC East. The Phins should take advantage of the Broncos defense that sits in the cellar of the NFL. The Broncos are giving up 394.6 yards per game, compared to 333.7 of Miami. Rushing Miami has the edge on this one also as the Broncos give up 154.6 ypg to 100.4 for the Phins. If the Phins can march downfield as they did against the Bills, it should be a very long day for the Broncos D as they'll most likely see a heavy dose of the Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. My prediction Chad Pennington 285 yards 1TD Ronnie Brown 135 yards 2TD Jay Cutler 295 yards 2TD Michael Pittman 70 yards 1TD Phins 27 Broncos 21
It's definitely tough week in and week out, but as a fan i can proclaim "guarantee" Just hope Cutler sees the ground a lot during this game.
Everyone was talking playoffs after we beat San Diego, then we lost to the Texans and everyone was back to saying we're horrible. We beat Buffalo and we're right back to being overly confident? It's a winnable game, but I wouldnt guarantee anything w/ this team.
Hell I'm not talking playoffs, I'm just confident we can go into Denver and pull out another tough win.
knowing the dolphins......the worst running team always puts up season highs rushing..... the worst defense usually holds us to 3 points..... and a quaterback with no multi touchdown games....usually has 5 against us..... so I'm not giving us anything against their d yet......let them play
I'm kinda scared that this is Cutlers comeback game of the year. I think the Defense is going to force more turnovers and ground that potent air attack of theirs.
thats why theres a question mark on it, i was asking. not seriously proclaiming it. if push comes to shove, i'd put a bet on it.
Yup, we've beaten some good teams and lost to some bad teams. I wouldn't call this a lock by any means, especially seeing that the ground game has been nonexistent and we can't seem to tackle.
the projections for the td's im not guaranteeing, im more interested in the final score. would be nice if they missed a couple PAT's not likely though. i was looking at the point spread too, which has it 49 o/u and the broncos favored -3. im just taking the under. suffice to say, i had a brainfart, thanks for pointing out my mistake.
Fergy is super important and I hope he's at 100%. But as far as the running game, I'm not as confident that they will get 200 yards, I'll be happy if Ronnie breaks 100 and scores. Maybe we'll be able to run the wildcat more effectively, but I'm not convinced that we'll run all over them.
I was looking at the past record against the Broncos and it definitely is in our favor. I think we've lost only once @ Denver in a close game 17-20. Overall record was i think 9 wins 2 losses and 1 tie. I like our chances versus the Raiders and the Seahawks as well.
Less then 200 rushing yards against Denver and I will consider it a failure. This is a team that gave up 250 rushing yards to Sammy Morris, Kevin Faulk and BenJarvis Green Ellis if Ronnie and Ricky can't match that it will be a failure.
I think I just heard that wildcat audio sample they play on the highlight reels If we can't run as well as Kansas City and New England did against them, I definitely don't like our chances. That has to be one of the priorities to get a win this coming Sunday. I'm thinking a huge day for Ronnie Brown. If Ricky gets the ball, I hope he uses some stick-em on his hands because we don't need a repeat of yesterday vs the Bills.
Yeah, but you can't really use past performance as a way to predict future results. Heck, this Miami team is alot different than last years team, the outcome isn't going to have anything to do with what happened in those 11 games IMO. True, but for whatever reason our running game has been stuck in neutral. I would love for them to break out, but they have struggled lately and I'll reserve my enthusiasm until I see it.
Only reason I was even looking at the history was to see how well they performed traveling to Denver and playing @ Mile High. Didn't really seem to affect their ability to pull out a win over there, and I'm confident we can continue the trend (with a win).
I don't understand how anyone can think we'll just roll over the Broncos. They're a crappy defense with a very high scoring offense. Sound a lot like Houston don't they? Definitely not a guarantee by any means.
No way in you know where this is a guranteed win. Theres a chance we could get blown out or blow out them. We can make all the predictions we want but when it comes down to it all that matters is what happens on sunday at 4:15
Why would you even bring this up? Everytime I even thought about "We should wins this one solidly..." We lose. Every time I think "Ohh Boyy..its gonna be a loong game" We win. So as far as I know..They are Denver Broncos, they still have Cutler throwing the ball and Marshall catching it.
Coming from Sparano's mouth, this team is "getting it." The offensive line was in the weight room today on their day off working out. I believe the team is more motivated this year than they've been in YEARS. I'm not saying that just because the o-line was working out today is the reason they're going to win, it just seems to me IMO that the team will be ready this week. It's just my opinion, I no way said it was a guaranteed win, I just simply put it out there for thoughts and others opinions. Having said that, we're almost playing a 1 dimensional team this week, the secondary showed up against the Bills finally and I think we have the best personnel on the field in the secondary finally. It's taken this long to figure out the right group to have on the field and Marshall is definitely going to have his catches. If we can take him out of the game, and I think we can - it's going to be a tough day for the Broncos. Hopefully Scheffler is out, and we can get pressure on Cutler.
couldn't have said it better myself Steve. I read it though... but still, like you said, nothing in the NFL is guaranteed. Anyone can win on any given sunday. Except maybe the Lions.
I don't like the thread titles I'm seeing regarding the Denver game. "Denver's Defense is Terrible." "Guaranteed Win". Sounds like some people need a good serving of humble pie. Denver is playing great on offense, coming off of a bye, and at home. Get serious. While we have a good shot at winning if we play well, to even hint that this is a guaranteed win is ridiculous.
Exactly. Dolphins defense is ranked 25th against the pass and 15th against the run. We need to turn the ball over, make big plays, cause pressure and stay discipled in coverage against the deep ball. We have to hold on to the ball for around 32 mins on offense and not give up the ball. Denver is winnable but far from a sure win.
With the Bronco's coming off of a bye, this is the farthest thing from a guaranteed win. There is no such thing in the NFL.
Have you forgotten that so far this season, we've lost the games we should win and vice versa ?? Guaranteeing a win is ridiculous with the youth of this team and it's track record so far this season...rather silly perception of reality, IMHO...love the optimism, but you have to be realistic as well...
Well, I'm not surprised that we beat them, but I'm a little surprised at how poor their run game is...if we'd have let them crack a run or two, that could have opened up Pandora's box (you know, like the Cards game) on the secondary..but the D held their own even tho I would like to have seen them better on 3rd downs and getting Denver off the field quicker... I am surprised that we couldn't run better on them...I, like you, thought that Brown would have field day...the holes just aren't there for him and that's been going on since the Bolts game...that's gotta be fixed for us to progress further this season... It's amazing...we all feel euphoric at 4-4, but I'll be the Colts fans don't feel very good at 4-4 ??
