Based on his size I'm not sure if that is what parcells is looking for (hes about 317) and he is a mid 1st rounder and I doubt we spend a 1st on an OT but I'll make the list larger and narrow it down.
Vernon Gholston DE/LB 6'4" 264 40: 4.78 Some bio notes "Ohio State's next standout at the "Leo" or drop end position like Will Smith and Mike Kudla before him ... was recruited as a linebacker and now puts those skills and speed to use when rushing the quarterback or dropping into coverage " "an excellent pass rusher with his combination of size and speed ... bench presses 455 pounds and is one of the strongest players on the team " "A player in the mold of Adalius Thomas who can play a number of spots on a defense, Gholston plays to an integral part in the Buckeye defense in 2007. " "Pass rushing-lines up at DE and at LB. Has all the moves to get to the ball carrier. Is best with his hand on the ground rushing the passer. Plays with a mean streak." "Will most likely be a 4-3 defensive end, or 3-4 rush linebacker. Has a lot of versatility to play a few position." http://collegefootball.rivals.com/cv...=1&player=3774 http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/Vie...&Q_SEASON=2007 Jonathan Goff ILB 6'4" 235 40: 4.63 Some bio notes: "Goff has impressive size and speed, and excellent production as well. He'll be a top MLB candidate in the 2008 NFL Draft." "One of the top defensive players in the SEC, Jonathan Goff had 93 tackles in 2006 and was the leader of the Commodores. " "Has no trouble in coverage" "defensive captain for Vanderbilt" http://vucommodores.cstv.com/sports/...onathan00.html Shawne Crable OLB 6'5" 245 40: 4.74 Some bio notes: "Will be a 4 year lettermen and will see action again at as the SAM backer. Has seen a lot of action on special teams and at linebacker and is the next great college linebacker to come from UM. " "Has a habit of getting to the opposing signal caller. Shawn Crable should be able to play in the 4-3 or 3-4, although he's more suited for the former. " "Crable may be the ideal 3-4 OLB prospect. He has the size to take on blockers, to go along with the attacking skills to make plays approaching the line of scrimmage. He is athletic, and has the ability to get into the backfield consistently to disrupt plays. " "Possibly the most underrated defender in the Big Ten, Crable is a disruptive force who consistently makes positive plays." "Senior Captain" "Excellent special teams player" http://www.mgoblue.com/bio.cfm?bio_i...l=3&season=983 Nice article on the kid http://www.indeonline.com/index.php?ID=22025 Limas Sweed WR 6'5" 219 40: 4.55 Some bio notes: "Sweed is a huge target, that couples his size and strength with impressive athleticism. Sweed’s size makes him the perfect go to receiver because he physically overpowers defenders. He is an excellent intermediate threat, but has shown the ability to get down the field vertically as well. He has deceptive speed and once he gets down the field, his size and body control take over, and he becomes a nightmare matchup. He can go up and get the football as well as anyone in the draft. " "Outstanding red-zone guy" http://nfldraftdog.com/2008_nfl_draft/limas_sweed.htm http://www.mackbrown-texasfootball.c...7&member_id=87 Heath Benedict OT/OG 6'6" 320 40: 4.90 Some bio notes "The Jacksonville Jaguars actually gave him an "unofficial" workout after the 2006 season, thinking he was going to enter the 2007 NFL Draft. He weighed in at 6' 5.5" 332 pounds and ran a 4.92 forty yard dash. His arms were measured at 34" and he scored a 31 on the Wonderlic test. He also benched 225 pounds 28 times. Benedict also has a 435 pound bench, 625 pound squat, and power clean of 330 pounds." "Benedict has incredible strength, speed and agility. He sinks his hips and moves people out of the way when run blocking, but also slides and uses his hands well in pass protection." http://newberryindians.athleticsite....p?playerID=273 http://www.nfldraftdog.com/2008_nfl_...h_benedict.htm
I think we could take this guy from Kentucky in the 3rd round: Keenan Burton, WR, Kentucky Height: 6-2. Weight: 195. 40 Time: 4.47. Projected Round: 2-3. Keenan Burton caught everything in sight as Kentucky upset Louisville; Burton recorded nine receptions for 99 yards. Burton had five receptions for 49 yards, but I don't see him winning any jump balls in the NFL. Still a very impressive player, and he is versatile on special teams. If Keenan Burton has another great year and runs well at the Combine, he could sneak into the first round. Solid kick returner. Caught 77 passes for 1,036 yards and 12 TDs in 2006.
How exactly is Dorsey a "Parcell's Player"??? Also, is that really Gholston's 40 time or is it an estimate??? I'm in my mid 30's and 240 lbs and I be I could still run faster than 4.78. Sheesh that's slow!
im pretty sure gholston is less then a 4.6 imo, dorsey has the size to play 3-4 end and maybe some nose, parcells has drafted players only a couple pounds heavier then him to play nose.
Maybe in the 80's. I just don't see Dorsey as a Parells guy unless he has the speed to play end. He just doesn't have the size to play nose in a 34
Not sure, it's listed on a few different draft sites. If he can improve on that at the combine he should move up the draft boards.
Fred Davis in the 2nd round???? u do realize that'd be a STEAL. such a steal that ud need to call the cops.
Reynaud I believe is a Jr from WVU. If we're going by "character" guys, some recent allegations have came out about Ben Moffitt. I've seen Flacco rated as highly as the 3rd best Qb by Mel Kiper who also has Fred Davis listed as his top TE. Todd Mcshay has Urriutia with a 4th rd grade.
As duly noted on these forums the guy is potentially too athletic to be a noseguard and for that kind of money...? I think Dorsey is smallish... as a nose
I think CK said it in the phinchat, when pat Williams and Vince Wilfork(the top 2 NT in the league) were drafted they weighed about the same or less than Dorsey's listed weight, and dorsey's listed weight has been rumored to be alot lower than his actual playing weight
I've heard differently. And after watching him play in the Rose Bowl, there is no doubt in my mind he's the best TE available.
really tbh its between davis, rucker and carlson, i think davis is probably the best all around TE but a junior could easily declare.
