Wrong..., we need to finish our Oline.... We don't have a line to challenge the best..., and FA Oline are expensive... Jake Long will be top three... OTs are just that valuable... I agree that the defense does need a break and first downs might be a start... As are Qbs valuable you cannot have enough talent at QB in a keague where they are mashed and mauled beacuse you cannot protect them...
You almos have to go with some D-Lineman on this one. It's tough to win when Taylor is the only member of the defense that poses a threat to sack the QB or intercept a pass...all this and he's what, turning 34?
I am still going with OL if there is one available and worth the pick. Protect the QB and make holes for the RB. That will also help keep our old and worn out defense off the field. THEN you can fix the D.
You bring up a great point that I think some people fail to understand. In a 3-4 you dont lay out the big money to a DE or NT. At least not a rookie. That money goes to pass rushing OLBs. On offense that money goes to QBs and LOTs. From a financial point of view salary cap wise I think Gholston, J Long or Clady and Ryan are the only ones that make sense. I love Chris Long and if we trade down a few he would make better financial sense but not worth 60 million
If won't have enought time to throw the long ball with our lack of protection. DID YOU SEE THE GEORGIA GAME?
Never know. If we trade with Atlanta we could get the 4 overall pending the coin flip. I'll assume Atlanta would trade up for Ryan or McFadden and not Long. St Louis needs OL so it would come down to whoever has three. The Raiders would probably take Long but Dorsey might be a fit to replace Sapp
After watching the last two games of the Arkansas Season, I SERIOUSLY doubt anybody trades up to Get McFadden...He's good, but, I am not sure he is even the best RB coming out this year.
I dont think Jake Long is worthy of that number 1 spot. a lot of folks dont think he will pan out well as a dominant left tackle. chris long is the guy i see us taking at the #1 overall spot. dorsey wont fit into our 3-4 scheme, which we should make all efforts to adapt to under Parcells. maybe he can play de...but long seems like more of a fit. no calvin johnsons, no need or desire for RBs, no clear-cut cant pass QB. i think this is the way we'll go if we cant trade down.
Lol. Well I never was a McFadden fan or at least as much as the others. Mendenhall from Illinois is my pick to be great and if he comes out at half the cost
We need a bookend LT - Jake Long. That way we can move Carey back to RT; where he plays at the all pro level. We can get a good DT in the second at pick 32. We need a TE with one of the 2nd round picks.
oh yea i saw the Georgia game and we have alot better Pass Protection then that some time ours gets really bad but we give people alot more time then that to throw
