I know you've seen the commercials. Some of us played the demo. But End War is here. The game that propels the Tom Clancy franchise into the RTS realm. A feat that not easy on the consoles. First, I want you guys to know that I never played the demo. I've also read on boards that the demo doesn't do the game justice. I wouldn't know. But the full game eliminates the major problem RTS games have on console... crippled controls.

How? It's completely possible to play this game with one button... the Right Trigger. How? Right Trigger toggle's the voice command. It takes a few minutes at the beginning to calibrate the thing to your voice specifically (very cool BTW). But once it's set up, it's flawless. You'll either sound like a battlefield commander, or a complete idiot (depending on who's listening).

The sounds coming from my room last night:

    "Unit one attack Hostile two!"
    "Unit four retreat!"
    "Unit two attack target!"
    "Unit one move to foxtrot!"

The entire game can be effectively played via voice command. And it works great. It also takes some practice. And you really have to be paying attention. I'm digging it a lot. Anyone else try it?

    Over There.
I watched him play this last night, and I have to say, it looks mad cool! you have to make sure you are paying attention to what troops you have to command and what enemys are coming in. If you send the Wrong unit to attack a Hostile, you might just get your unit killed.

The fact that you can change views from each unit also is awesome.

so you can have 1 battle going on WAY over on the east side and Another on the West side, and you can switch views for each by calling out a command and see if they need more support.

downloaded and played the demo. I was impressed with the whole voice command thing, but i started to get a little frustrated during the skirmishes when the AI was kickin' my butt and the respones to my commands were "sorry can't perform that operation". I love RTS games on the computer but man it's hard on a console.
