Hey my old college football pals curious to see where the finheaveners stand as it pertains to the Big game Monday?? Who wins and why?? Obviously being a Buckeye fan I think tress and crew will get it done... I think the whole "speed" thing is a joke (see Michigan vs UF) Speed is just another part of the game and the emphasis on that recently has been laughable... Florida beat Ohio State last year because the had a fire under there butts and played like wild men while OSU got fat headed and in the QB's case stomached over the 50 day lay off, the team that wanted it more won (see Ohio State vs Miami 02) This looks to be a great game with two great defenses but I expect Ohio State to sqeak it out on the back of Beanie Wells..your thoughts?
being a Michigan fan and seeing what O$U's weaknesses are, I honestly just can't see them winning. Beanie Wells will get his numbers, but the rest of the Buckeyes IMO are overmatched. The Buckeyes do not do well against offenses that can spread the field effectively. When Little Animal and Freeman are allowed to attack the LOS they are unstoppable, but when they have to start moving laterally and have to think (like against Illinois) they struggle. LSU has a better offense than the Illini, and has the most dominant player of either team (Dorsey). This isn't even the Michigan man in me talking. I just think LSU is the better team.
I think LSU wins, though I agree with you DBoston that the speed thing doesnt make much sense to me. I think OSU has plenty of speed, they just arent as good imo.
