The XBL servers have been overloaded for the last week or so. Blame Microsoft for not properly forecasting demand. Gold subscribers have been given credit for the downtime.
Yea, me and my friend tried the other day to play halo, and it was so laggy we couldn't find a game and even had trouble joining each other. Then, it's been on/off whether or not I am even able to log in to my dashboard it seems.
Yea it sucks, i just got COD4 for Xmas and it's been causing me problems on live since, at least the single player campaign is amazing.
Just to chime in..my son has been complaining all week about having trouble getting online to play HALO, so I know it's a widespread issue. I would expect them to resolve it pretty quickly, though. I'm actually impressed by their customer service. My son got his 360 last Christmas and 6 months later it was fried through no fault of his. We called and complained. They sent us a box and packing within a couple of days with a prepaid UPS label for shipping his X-Box to them. Probably 3 weeks later UPS delivered a new X-Box 360 to our door. They seem to be committed to treating their customers right.
Its good for me now but over the weekend I couldn't find a match. And when it did it would restart the search right before it stared to load the map. Frustrating as heck.
Whoever has CoD for PS3 my PSN name is greg1184. Feel free to add me. I am playing regularly. I cant believe how much fun this game is. It is more fun than the PC FPS's I have played.
That and the red ring of death is such a widespread problem they just accept RMAs without much hassle. Remember the $1 billion Microsoft allocated toward anticipated repairs of that particular problem? Yep, same thing. And apparently the new model 360 isn't much better. Way to go, guys.
Looks like Xbox Live is encountering even MORE problems. A good number of people are unable to recover their gamertag. Furthermore, it looks like Microsoft has announced why XBL had such widespread issues: there was an unplanned outage after most of the maintenance staff had gone on their Christmas breaks. More here, thanks to Major Nelson.
not technically true. With xbox you have to pay to use the entire capabilities of xbox live, but not just to get online.
yeah i could not get on a game at all last night. i let it sit there and it would find games it just wouldnt find anyone to put into my match. at one point it found 45 games but 0 players were found. i'm still on the free month so i got time to see if i don't take back the live year subscription
i wonder what game they are giving for free. hope it's not some sorry azz game. http://gameinformer.com/NR/exeres/10F537BA-5651-400F-8593-ABA53D0F7347.htm
I have been having problems with PS2 and online gaming, using wireless and not able to connect to any servers. bummer....MLB 07 the show, and Madden 08 no love.
Yes it does, I have had a CISCO "Linksys" Wireless adapter receiver on mine for years. (I also use wireless controllers)
Linksys doesn't manufacture PS2 wireless adapters as far as I know, nor does Sony offer them. What did you do, take a Linksys USB dongle and plug it in to the PS2?
Not sure what you are talking about, I went to the store and purchased a CISCO Linksys wireless receiver for PS2. They have been out and available for years. I have used them a lot, but unfortunately these last two weeks the access has been sluggish and intermittent. That's what I thought, it's an unofficial product. Have you tried the PS2 on a wired connection? If it works on a wired connection, the problem's likely with the wireless connection.
Official or not it has been working great.....but actually yes, I am about to go get a long cable to switch and try that.
I was finally going to pick up Small Arms since it dropped to 400 points. However, I'll wait and see what game they are offering. Only thing I am encountering is that it takes 5 times as long to switch menu's within xbox live download pages.
