My league has 2 RBs, 2 WRs and a RB/WR Flex spot. Starting RB LT Addai Starting WR Fitzgerald Andre Johnson Flex Choice Jonathan Stewart (banged up) Deshawn Jackson Nate Washington Kenneth Darby (starting for Stephen Jackson, just picked him up) Thoughts?
Anyone else feel safe in starting Chambers this week vs. KC? my only other option is Avery vs. Jets...
Avery will get more targets, but is facing a tougher defense that will likely key on the pass with Jackson out. i'd probably go with CC.
Flex position Kevin Smith vs. Jac Matt Jones @ Det Ray Rice @ Hou Willis Mcgahee @ Hou Ricky Williams vs. Sea I have to pick one. Any last minute advice?
Rice. He had a pretty decent game last week and could be earning more reps. McGahee's iffy. Ricky hasn't done much. Who knows what will happen with Jax or Det's offenses.
Unfortunately, I went with the Rice advice (it was the only one posted before kickoff). BTW I still appreciate the help.
I don't know if even Ricky knew that was coming. Conventional wisdom suggests it'd be Ronnie with the big game. Sorry about that. I made the advice that looked reasonable based on past performances and situations. But that's why you play the game. Unpredictable things happen. Well, to that point, he hadn't produced so I'm still right. People who started him against a weak Denver D would've had maybe 1 point. Reason #1 why I hate RBBC. If I had known Ricky and not Ronnie would go crazy today, I might as well buy lottery tickets.
so, you guys think that a combo of Frank Gore, Larry Fitzgerald, and Joe Nedney can score 31 pts or more tomorrow night? Aaron Rodgers and Chris Johnson killed me this week
I got an offer of McGahee and Carlson for Chris Cooley. I'm almost tempted to take it but I don't trust McGahee's production enough to not crash again. I countered with Cooley and Fargas for Hightower and Carlson. If I can get Hightower I may have saved my season.
Berrian and Chambers got me a combined score of 0.... I also had TJones on my bench...thank god for Moore however.
Who do you guys think the better keeper would be going forward? Slaton or Hightower? Hightower looks like he's probably secured the starting spot and gets a ton of TDs.
I'd go with Hightower, he's hot right now and Slaton looks like he is going to be sharing with Green from here on out. And what happened to him yesterday, 4 carries??
McGahee's unpredictable as is the entire Ravens RB crew. Avoid if you can. Your counter trade may be more beneficial for you but I doubt he'd take it. Slaton is still the Texans man for the future because he can also contribute through the air. In my opinion, they're both equal in terms of upside.
I cant beleive you played them against the colts anyways. They always have the potential to be dangerous.
I can't believe this. The same league I have Jay Cutler in, I'm down 25 points to Finole, 120-145. How the hell? Oh, wait, he has Thomas Jones and Adrian Peterson, that's how. I need Frank Gore to score 25 points tonight. 2 TDs, 80 yards rushing, and 5 catches ought to do it.
Ok, big matchup in my money league next week. I'm playing the first place team (I'm in 4th). Never too early to ask sooooooooo..... I need to start two of the following RB's Brandon Jacobs vs Baltimore Michael Turner vs Denver Thomas Jones vs New England I'm leaning towards Turner and Jones since Jacobs might have a hard time running against Baltimore.
Turner is a must start. I guess Jones' big week might put him in the spotlight in gameplanning but Baltimore's just too stingy for any RB.
Thomas Jones is bi polar. You never know when he'll go nutzo with a few tds. However trends in his career in NYJ suggest he'll lay an egg after big games. I say go Turner and Jacobs. NYG have one of the best Olines in the game. Jacobs is not only an every down back, but he's also one of the best goal line backs around. NYG are 8-1. Baltimore is going to struggle on offense vs. NY. When NY gets a lead, they're going to punish Baltimore with man-beast Jacobs. Turner and Jacobs. Steve Breaston and Boldin won me me a game tonight, and Warner and Boldin almost got me to 4-0 this week. I fell 4 points short.
Except Baltimore has the league's #1 rush D (allows 65 ypg) and their offense is a lot more potent than people give them credit for. Giants can be stymied on the run against top run D's (see Steelers), especially a 3-4. Giants best bet against the Ravens is the pass and if Ravens go up early, they could abandon the run or give Ward some carries. Jones got 70 yards the last time they faced the Pats this season. It's not a whopper but it's better than the 45 yards Jacobs is likely to get if his Steelers performance is any marker. Right now, he's on a tear, the coaches are giving him more reps, and it's against a slightly lesser run D so it looks likely he'll improve on that 70 yard game.
Ravens offense isn't special by any means. They've run into some junk defenses these last few weeks (OAK, CLE, HOU). NYG are going to throw their weight around on defense. Baltimore might not score 10 offensive points in this game. NY's D is going to create turnovers, give NY field position, and they will pound the ball. It's not as if Thomas Jones has a bigger ceiling vs. NE. Neither are great matchups, but in this case you have to look at A). Who is better (Jacobs) and who will get the most/best opportunities (Jacobs).
You forget MIA. They put up 27 on us too. I dunno if you want to clump us with those "junk" defenses yet. The Giants D is starting to crack a bit especially in the secondary. I wouldn't crown their D yet. And frankly, against the Ravens, with McAlister out, I'd be passing to Burress and Co. Plus, in the Steelers game, Big Ben was harassed, turned it over and Giants had prime field position. Yet Jacobs lasted 47 yards against their 3-4. Jacobs actually has less carries than Jones. And he's been notching some fumbles too which is getting me concerned plus Ward will likely siphon carries. He needs to have a big run to make a difference and that's a hard thing to do against the Ravens D. I'm starting him on one of my teams but only because Portis could be iffy. Frankly, I consider the NE matchup better than the Baltimore one.
