I've been trying to register for the pass 3 weeks and I couldn't because it kept saying I was getting the nospam question wrong. What do you guys think about a trade with the Arizona Cardinals. They have about 16 million in cap space sign to Larry Fitzgerald next season(I have been hearing from cards fan that he may not restructure with the cardinals). How about we trade our First overall pick to the Cardinals for Larry Fitzgerald and their 13th Overall pick if he is willing to restructure with us. Then we can get a TE in the draft. 2008 offensive weapons(Ronnie Brown, Lorenzo B, Ted Ginn, Larry Fitzgerald(will get double teamed) and a TE(? Fred Davis, Martin Rucker, whoever we draft) With that 13th overall pick(There should be some good defensive player available such Malcolm Jenkins, Calais Campbell and maybe a good linemen). If we bring in Rex Ryan i hope we bring whoever is working with the ravens d-line so they could work with Paul Soliai so they can mold him into Haloti Ngata. What do you guys think of the trade?
I really really like this. I think that would be good trade if they throw in another 3rd possibly? but yeah i like it a lot. I have heard rumors throughout the season that the cardinals could possibly be looking to ship larry .
If they are having cap problems, they probably don't exactly drool when thinking about getting the #1 pick. Plus, I wouldn't want to trade down 12 spots, not even for Larry. The drop off in talent after #6 or #7 is quite significant.
Trading down from #1 overall for the #13 pick and Larry Fitzgerald doesn't come close to satisfying the trade value chart, unless you think Larry Fitzgerald would be worth 1,850 points, which is more than the 1,150 points the Cards' #13 pick is worth. I don't think people fathom how truly difficult it is to trade down from the #1 overall pick these days, thanks to Jimmy Johnson's little invention.
I think its worth Its worth really worth having L. Fitz and Ted Ginn will make it impossible to put 8 in the box to stop Ronnie Brown. I know it may be hard to trade down but I would love this trade to happen.
I like Fitzgerald, but Miami needs to focus on both lines first and foremost in my opinion. I would love to see Fitzgerald in Miami, but we have other bigger needs as of this moment.
i dont really like it i love fitz but we need a young guy to rebuild around and what better to do that with than the 1st pick in the draft. andi agree with the above if they are having cap problems they wont want that draft choice b/c it = lots of cash.
if we could get it done then yes it would be great. It gives a young wide receiver thats great but yet doesnt take away from us getting a good young player we need in the draft.
Arizona does have some issues financially. 2 of their 3 starting LB's are free agents (Dansby/Pace). A very productive backup LB is a RFA (Blackstock). They gotta come up with a contract for Bolden at some point. They also got an RFA in Antonio Smith's 5.5 sacks at DE. They also have a 26 year old WR whose up for free agency in Bryant Johnson. Could be ripe for some picking.
IMO I would have to have a solid o-line and d-line, solid defense, solid qb,solid tight end, and solid runningback before I considered adding a pricey wide receiver . To me a wide receiver would be one of the last pieces of the puzzle and I still dont think I would trade a #1 draft pick to get one.
IMHO we need to concentrate on the Lines first and foremost. What good is great WR when the defense can't stop the run and no pressure on the QB. We have a need at LT on the Offensive side too. If Arizona does have cap problems, the NO.1 pick is the last thing they need.
Swapping first round picks doesnt sound realistic to me but this is actually one of the very rare trades i would be interested in making if he's on the block. It would probably take pick #32 to land him but we arent going find anyone as sure fire as Larry with that pick so i'd be for it. We need another proven playmaker on offense to take the focus away from Ronnie and give our QB some weapons to work with.
Wait, you guys are under the impression that the Cardinals would give us Larry Fitzgerald AND their 13th overall and all we have to give up is the number one overall? I don't know if you guys go into your parent's medicine cabinet or not, but I think we would be laughed out of the room/off the pone if we went to Arizona with that proposal. If Arizona went for it, I would do it in a HEARTBEAT as it would be an absolute steal for us. Having said that, it ain't gonna happen.
I think most experts feel Miami would benefit by trading down, since there is no clear dominant # 1 guy in the draft, BUT wanting to trade down, and actually finding someone who will deal with you is a different thing. Teams are valuing their picks, especially their first rounders, very carefully. The Patriots always find ways to swindle other teams, but we don't. I think we will end up having to keep our overall first pick and hoping for the best. I think Chris Long is the best sure thing at this point.
First off, the Cardinals will be 20 million under the cap after re-upping some of their free agents worth keeping (i/e Dansby, Pace and restructuring Fitzgerald's contract). Secondly, there's little to no chance the Cards trade Fitzgerald unless they fetch the farm. There's equally no chance they trade Fitzgerald AND their own first and any other pieces that would be traded. Secondly, Boldin just re-signed with the Cards two years ago. He's got 5 years left before they have to worry about re-upping him. Pace and Dansby are both listed as top priorities for the Cards, although Dansby's asking price is believed to be in the top 3 range for LB, so chances are the Cards franchise him and re-sign Pace. Bryant Johnson? Sure there's a chance he sticks around, but I doubt Arizona's going to rush to the lines to trade Fitzgerald in order to re-sign Johnson. He'll probably go to either Baltimore or Philadelphia, according to rumors out here. Also, by all accounts, Fitz is happy here and doesn't want to go anywhere, and the Cards obviously are happy having him... As they should be, having a guy who is their first Pro Bowl starter in years and only going to get better. I'd love Fitz to become a Dolphin too.. But the likelihood of it actually happening in this or any other scenario are slim, especially in a draft where there's really no clear cut #1 overall pick.
Either this is an incredible attempt at sarcasm or you are horrifically underestimating how good Fitzgerald really is. I can't quite determine which one is the case.
Technically it would be a steal for them. The move from pick #1 to #13 is equal to the value of both our second round picks, our 3rd, and 4th (and then some). Are you saying Larry Fitzgerald is worth all those picks? It would be a robbery in that aspect and it would take a blatant disregard for pick value by Parcells/Ireland. I personally wouldnt be disappointed at all especially if we landed Mike Jenkins with #13 but we would still be giving up a lot in that scenario.
i want to get Chad Johnson he is cheaper he is a better WR and we could Trade our #1 pick for The Bengals #1 pick and chad Johnson
