FOX Sports on MSN - COLLEGE FOOTBALL - 'Bama, Texas Tech 1-2, but Texas is lurking 1.Alabama 2.Texas Tech 3.Texas- 4.Florida 5.Oklahoma 6.USC 7.Utah 8.Penn St. 9.Boise St. 10.Georgia #2 TTech vs #5 Oklahoma will be a very very good match.
I think this could end up being a Florida vs Oklahoma Championship. Cant say I'd mind seeing that at all.
Would be a great game. Bascially its the winner of the Okla/Texas Tech game vs. winner of the Bama/Florida game.
Texas was ranked 1 and lost to Ranked TTech Florida lost to unranked Ole Miss at Home. Again I don't understand the crying. Plenty of football to be played.
If Alabama loses and with UiF still playing Citadel. It will be an all Big 12 title game. Either TT and Texas or Texas and OU. Provided they beat Missouri in the Big 12 title game. Losing to Ole Miss at home means you don't deserve a title shot.
All I'm saying is that the team thats no.4 should be bumped up since the team that was ahead of them lost, isnt that how it usually works? meh w/e UF has to to take care of its remaining games, then we'll see where we stand.
Not when they lose to #7 TTech on away game. Relax plenty of football to be played I fully expect Florida to beat Bama in SEC championship game.
It wont be an all Big 12 title, would never happen... If UF beats Alabama, people arent going to remember the early season loss. The computers already dont care all that much about it based on their ranking.
Okla, TT and Texas are all in the same division arent they? Im assuming that either Okla/TT obliterates Missouri. I guess crazier things have happened though.
27th this week. 26th last week. After we roll the Turkeys Thursday night we will be. My first game at Porpoise Stadium.
You guys got it ALL wrong.......dont you know how this story ends?? Ohio State vs. Bama in the National title game.... DUH!
Almost like a playoff system. Sorry, had to say it. I'm picking Florida / Texas Tech, actually. That offense is real. Big 12 North is having a down year. Missouri hasn't looked impressive, Kansas is overrated, and none of the other teams are ready. Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State are all better than Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska.
The Big 12 South makes every other conference look pedestrian....its not even close, includes the Sec north south east west.
Bitterness....One thing comes to mind when a "rival" has such sour grapes that they could try to justify the winner of the SEC missing out on the NC game this year..... UF still has their work cut out for them to even get into the game. 3 out of our next 4 opponents are in the top 25, and the final obviously being the #1 ranked team in the nation. I'm not holding my breath, regardless of the confidence I feel in UF. Even though I think we have the advantage on paper, it's not like we have a cakewalk...Anything can happen.
I'm as upset as the next Gator fan about that loss, but it kills me that people can be so ignorant about that team. Even though UF should have won that game, if any of these critics watched them play I highly doubt they could justify their current analysis. I've also pointed out to some people already that out of their 4 losses, they have yet to lose a game by more than one score and their losses have come against quality opponents. Other than their 23-17 loss to Vanderbilt, they lost to #1 Alabmaba 24-20 #24 Wake Forest 30-28 #25 South Carolina 31-24 All of the sudden, this team may as well be Citadel or even Appalachian State to these people. If you factor in how close their losses to good teams were, and their WIN against UF at the swamp....it's not all that crazy to think of a scenario that could have worked out where Ole Miss would be one of the better teams in the nation let alone in the SEC.
They're comparing the Ole Miss loss to a Big 12 or Big 10 loss. Since its my opinion that the SEC is by far a superior conference, a loss to Ole Miss (for the reasons you mention) does not hurt nearly as bad as loss to... say, Indiana or Colorado. BTW, if Ole Miss was as pathetic as people say then why is Florida still ranked ahead of USC?
A bit early to even be having this discussion...UF still has SC, FSU, BAMA ...no easy road.......however what about USC...they lost on the road to Oregon and UF lost at home to Ole Miss...the season will take care of itself but at this point USC and Florida compare closer than Texas...IMHO.......Texas lost to a very very good team and at least at this point IMHO is legit ahead of Florida ... Ole Miss and Oregon are not horrible but not elite by any means.......
Hey Ray... long time. The losses between UF and USC are comparable, but by no means are the wins. USC's only real 'big' win was OSU. Where UF has LSU and UGA. Plus may have Bama if things play out. So not really that comparable if you ask me.
Not to split hairs but USC lost to Oregon St., not Oregon And yes, the strength of schedule is what keeps UF ahead of USC. Texas may have played the better opponent (singular) but UF will have played the better group of opponents (plural) This is what seperates the SEC from all other major conferences and UF in particular. Can you imagine if Texas, Texas Tech, or Oklahoma played UF's schedule? How many wins would those schools have? Its fun to debate for sure. This is why we need a playoff though.
