Big game this week: Me (8-2, 3rd place) against a good friend (9-1, 2nd place) in our 16 teams keeper league. My choices for the last flex position are: Chris Chambers at PIT Derrick Mason at NYG Joshua Cribbs at BUF Ricky Williams vs. OAK Something to keep in mind: We give a lot of points for punt and kick returns. Cribbs scored 19 and 13 points in the last two weeks which is why I claimed him off waivers today. Whom would you start and why?
Cadillac Williams is activated. Anyone think he's worth a look as a late season pickup? Vendigo- Chambers got 0 points against KC, so he should stay benched against Pit. Mason won't do much, IMO. NYG will kill Flacco. How many points do you get per yards for returns? Does cribs return punts, too? I'm thinking Ricky. OAK is horrible... Just Horrible. I expect 70 yards rushing, 30 receiving, 1 TD at least. But I'll wait until you get back to me on the scoring.
Since you get return yards, I might consider Cribbs though Buffalo's tightened things up when it comes to return coverage. Mason and Chambers are iffy starts and I don't know what to expect out of our RBBC. It could be Ronnie, it could be Ricky.
I wouldn't touch Williams unless I had Graham or are really desperate for RB's. Unfortunately, it's a tossup as to which back will do well for us. It could be Ronnie, who fared well last time or Ricky. It's not a sure bet that both will put up stats so it could be one or the other.
1 point per 25 kick return yards and 1 point per 15 punt return yards. And yes, Cribbs does return punts. He's also their leading ST tackler, adding a couple of points there as well (1 point per solo tackle). I'm really torn up between Cribbs and Ricky. Leaning a bit towards Cribbs though for two reasons: He's more likely to produce solid points (Ricky's very gameplan-dependant) and my friend is a huge Browns fan As an aside, in case you're wondering, I'm currently starting Gore, Jamal Lewis and Reggie Wayne with Rivers at QB.
Which two to start next to Gore: Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson, or Reggie Bush? Or should I just drop Donnie Avery to get DeAngelo Williams?
I'm with you on your line of thinking. But you gotta love this matchup. It would allow, if at any point this year, Miami to feature both RB and get results. Key word you said was desperate. Only 2 options available. Cribbs vs. Williams is exactly that. If this is my team, I'm going Ricky because of the matchup, no more no less. My 2 cents.
Whenever I see RBBC, I feel sometimes that's even stronger than the matchup factor. It can be a great matchup but sometimes only one RB gets the benefit (see Carolina game). Still a tossup but a potential high gain one. Cribbs looks like a safe pick for this situation since tackles and return yards are given points. Ricky has the higher ceiling but a much greater risk regardless of matchup. Pretty much depends on what you want. If you want a near guarantee of some points, then Cribbs. If you really need points badly, take a gamble on Ricky.
wow, you must be in a league with a bunch of suckers if thats your RB group and DeAngelo Williams is a free agent.
Johnson was my 12th round pick in a July draft. Bush was dropped after his injury which I had extra room for. DeAngelo Williams is on waivers right now after someone picked up Mark Bradley.
Aright so I need an RB to start along with Slaton this week. Options are: Fargas vs Mia Deuce vs KC (Duno about Bush yet, bad sign with Deuce splitting carries last week) Bell vs ATL (Hillis is on the wire too) Dunn vs Min I have Sammy Morris too but hes prob doubtful. I could pick up Green-Ellis but NE does play NYJ. I'm thinking Fargas is unfortunately my best option. Thoughts?
Not sure what running back to start. I already have Michael Turner starting who should destroy Denver. Chris Johnson @ Jacksonville MJD vs. Tenn Steve Slaton @ Indy Peyton Hillis @ Atlanta Tim Hightower @ Seattle Right now I am leaning towards starting CJ.
I'd probably go CJ as well, although Hightower vs. that weak Hawks D is tempting. I would normally have said MJD but not this week against the Titans D.
Matt Cassell vs. Jets in the possible rain or Gus Frerotte and his million interceptions the past 2 weeks against a stout Tampa pass D? I'm leaning Cassel.
Chris Johnson Michael Turner Steve Slaton Peyton Hillis Tim Hightower Randy Moss Plaxico Burress Steve Breaston Mark Bradley Start two running backs and three wide receivers.
You're welcome. Though judging by my luck, Jacobs could pull 200yrds and 4TD's. The fantasy gods aren't too happy about how powerful my lineups are.
steven jackson(if healthy) steve slaton ricky williams jerious norwood hines ward lee evans kevin walter ted ginn jr plaxico matt jones(if healthy) i need 2 rbs and 2 wr then one of either. i was thinking of doing slaton ricky norwood evans ward and bo scaife or chris cooley?
If Jackson is healthy, start him, if not, consider Slaton and then Ricky. WR's Evans and Ward should be no-brainers. I don't know how your scoring is but I'd start Plaxico instead of Norwood because Norwoods production depends solely on whether Turner gets tired. Chris Cooley. Dallas LB's are too big and lumbersome to guard TE's plus Cooley's had a decent track record against em. Portis will be iffy and they'll likely pass more. Scaife's not a bad option but Titans are run 1st, pass 2nd.
norwood is going against denver its sooo tempting. plaxico against baltimore not as tempting but they have a banged up secondary yep right after i made the post espn updated his status as out
Oh yea, I love that matchup except I was only interested in it for Turner. Norwood's performance will really depend on whether they think Turner's racked up enough. If Ravens keep their status as the #1 run D and force Manning to throw, could be interesting for Burress. Fabian Washington's not good enough and Rolle's lost a step. Ravens can rush the passer but not as well as they can stuff the run.
Sometimes I hate having 7 teams. Tim Hightower @ Seattle, or Matt Forte @ Green Bay? Need to slot two: Terrell Owens @ Washington, Greg Jennings vs Chicago, and Eddie Royal @ Atlanta. Marques Colston @ Kansas City, or Andre Johnson @ Indianapolis? Jonathan Stewart vs Detroit, or LaDainian Tomlinson @ Pittsburgh? Santana Moss vs Dallas, or Eddie Royal @ Atlanta? Jason Witten @ Washington, or Chris Cooley vs Dallas?
I'd go - Forte...Jennings, Royal..AJ..LT..Royal..Cooley. What about Witten @ Dallas OR M.Jenkins vs. Denver? PPR..
What about pick two of these.. Cal Johnson, Chad Johnson, Witten, Muhammed? I'm so unsure about my lineup this week, it's drivin me nuts!
Calvin Johnson and Jason Witten. Also, I looked up Santana Moss' numbers and he's apparently a Cowboy killer. I'm starting him over Eddie Royal. Sorry, bg.
Some quick advice: Who do I start at WR (only 2 spots since I started Welker and he got me 13 pts already) 2 spots for 4 WRs: Hines Ward vs. SD Ted Ginn Jr vs. OAK Braylon Edwards vs. BUF Bernard Berrian vs. TB Mark Bradley vs. NO Remember, our WRs get points for KR/PR so that makes Ginn's value that much more. Right now I have Ginn and Ward as starting WRs and Bradley as my Flex. Don't feel comfortable with Berrian against TB, or Braylon against BUF (especially with Quinn showing he likes his TE's). Also, my Defense: I have Philly starting, but I'm starting to lean towards giving Miami the go against Oakland. What do you all think?
I like what you got, except I'd go with Miami D. Those are my two D's as well, I went with da FINS BABY!
