I'm used to it. I figure if I don't start someone on a particular team, somewhere else I have no choice but to start him.
Glad I kept Ginn in there. He got me 16 points today. I made the right moves today, other than keeping Philly Defense in (only got 2 points more than Miami's Defense).
Should've started handcuff insurance Stewart alongside DeAngelo today on the Flex spot. Oh well, at least Slaton and LT did ok. Now I'm wondering whether I should have Stewart starting in good matchups like today. Sweet day for me fantasy-wise. Save for my disappointment for Westbrook, should be an easy win across the board. And I guess Jacobs did ok against the Ravens though Ward and Bradshaw took a lot of carries. Still, I don't think you'll be that disappointed with Thomas Jones, Rev.
Did I call that NYG game or what? I knew Baltimore would get their *** handed to them. But you did call the RBBC. But yeah, Thomas Jones and BJ should have the same exact fantasy points this week. It's always great when your fantasy players all do the same and don't miss an opportunity. I'm pretty sure I'm going 2-2 this week. My first place teams will win, my 3rd place team loses, and my 5-5 injury prone team loses. I really ****ing hate Addai... He is on my bench with a very good game.
Jacobs could be a bit more, maybe 1-2 more points depending on how the league scores TD's (I have both and Jacobs has 19 in mine, Jones 17). But yea, hopefully that won't make a huge difference on the overall score and they both did well. Yea, I hate sitting good players even if the starters did better or equally well. I had Ryan Grant and LT on the bench for Hightower.
That's understandable though. Grant is hit or miss and playing Chicago and LT had Pitt. Most people play it as you did. I decided to go Slaton over LT last minute. I was hoping Slaton didn't get 2 carries... again, like last week. 21 points will do nicely. Odd he had no receptions... He's usually good for 4-6 with 30 yardsish. I've learned a valuable lesson this year. TE are *******s, and they can be the difference between winning and losing. I thought I got a huge steal in Fasano, but nope... I'm going to target one in the 5th/6th round next year. The TE position is killing me. I picked up Boss on a few teams since he's hot, and he drops a 0 for me.
Hope that don't cost ya. I saw the Jason Campbell I'll always think of last night. Plus, I think Moss and Royal was a wash, lol.
Dammit Rivers, your 5 points killed me this week. Back to the bench next week for Kerry Collins. Wow thats scary. I hate these matchups next week, but are any of these guys really benchable? Fitzgerald vs NYG Marshall vs OAK Cotchery @ TEN The only other option I have at WR would be Mark Bradley vs BUF, or I could get Gage off the wire. Thoughts?
None of them are benchable except maybe Cotchery if it's a really bad matchup, which it is against Tenn. Never bench Fitz or Marshall. Still, Gage is starting to turn heads with the Titans opening things up (of course, I had him signed in the FH GM League of last year) and I like his game (big target, improved hands and route running, fair speed).
Which D to start? I have a problem here.I"m asking this early so I to get the most responses before next weeks games. My Defenses are stout, but in my league I need as many points as I can get. Who to choose? GIANTS at cardinals TITANS vs. jets Standard scoring.2 pts int, 1 pt sack,6 pts DTD....blah blah blah. Thanks for all the responses.
I would go with the Titans. Jets are the more weaker offense right now and Titans D is about the same as the Giants D. The Cards have an incredible passing offense with Boldin and Fitz, which could be too much for the Giants corners to handle.
Gotta agree. Go titans. The Jets will get smacked around. That D-line is going to crush NYJ and Favre. Although don't count out NY. Their DB aren't terrific, but they can Blitz like no other. Warner is great with time, just the opposite without. It's very possible he gets Tom Bradyed. As you can see, I'm very high on NY his season. They're the class of the field. I'm not playing Warner this week, for what it's worth. It's Cutler or Rodgers. I gotta check the matchups though.
Tough choice. Titans as I like them at home and the fact that they hold opposing QBs to a 60 rating. They get enough pressure and do force turnovers. Only allowed 5 TDs passing all year.
You guys gave me such great advice that I am back for more. I need to start two (2RB and 2WR) of the following three: Michael Turner vs Carolina Brandon Jacobs vs Arizona Thomas Jones vs Tennessee Hines Ward vs Cincinnati Lance Moore vs Green Bay Vincent Jackson vs Indianapolis Thanks for the help.
Indy's defense is a joke sans Bob Sanders. He was out sunday, might not play this week. Vincent Jackson should put up anywhere from 8-16 points this week. Also Rev, I would not be so quick to play Jacobs. He hurt his knee, and is questionable for this week. I think he only gets a few carries if he does play. So I would look at the FA wire if I were you... Thomas Jones is going to get ***** slapped by Tenn. BJ backup is Derrick Ward. Be on the lookout for Warrick Dunn (Grham might be out for the year, Dunn will carry the load), Kevin Faulk, Deuce McAllister. One guy you MIGHT find is Peyton Hillis. He's Denver's new starting RB and could give you a goal line TD.
Willaims is ready to go for TB also, Graham being injured might push TB to play him more. Bathea and Jackson are also hurt for Indy.
My 3 RB matchups, I nee to start 2. Ronnie Brown vs. NE Michael Turner vs. Carolina Matt Forte vs. St. Louis Obvious I'm going Forte vs. those pathetic Rams... Brown vs. Turner. who would you start? I'm leaning towards Turner.
Would anyone here consider sitting Rivers against Indy's 9th ranked pass D in favor of Collins going against NYJ's 28th ranked pass D? I might be going a little stat crazy, but the last few weeks make this a tempting idea.
Jacobs could be gimpy and Giants are already willing to go RBBC. Keep an eye out on that. Turner's a must start but if Jacobs can't go or won't get many touches, you're left with Jones. Start Ward and Moore. I think LT could go nuts against Indy so they'll be run first. And I think Chambers could be the WR Rivers guns for because Indy's prone to the big play. That's right up Chambers' alley so Jackson could get anywhere from 50 yards to 100+ with TD.
So I clinched a playoff berth in 4 teams so far as #1 seed right now. In one of them (currently 11-0), the 4th place team is 7-4 but he's got a really nasty lineup (2nd by a longshot in total scoring) that I think he'll do well that particular week if matched up with. Should I lose a few games on purpose to drop to a #2 (8-3, 4th total) or #3 (8-3, 3rd total) which would be much easier player matchups?
If he's that good, aren't you going to face him in the championship game? Honestly, I've never had your problem (if you can call it that... lol), I'd say go for the perfect season, matchup, and see what happens.
I will likely but when his top 6 (QB, 2 RB, 3 WR) are facing the likes of Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Tampa Bay, and Carolina for the championship game, I'll take that over Cincinnati, Indy's run D, Detroit, Houston.
Officially clinched but I guess maybe 3-4 games to be safe. 2nd is fine by me but there's just no honor in throwing games for a better playoffs spot.
I like Edwards' matchup but the Bills and especially Edwards are on a downward spiral. Not that I don't mind it of course. If Edwards can channel Ray Lucas, I'll be a happy man. Start Pennington with confidence in 225+ yards and no picks.
Minnesota if no suspensions are handed down, otherwise Washington. Every time Washington has had a favorable matchup (Detroit, St. Louis) they've screwed it up.
